Even more odd, the padded stool he landed on is equipment they keep on hand for exactly that purpose. Which begs the question: just how trouble-prone is the front gear on an AV-8B, anyway?!
-
On the other hand, the size disparity lends itself to great forced-perspective pics.
-
That's... trippy.
-
Wonder who owns that prototype now...

To bring this somewhat back on topic, anybody thinking there'll be a Super pack release for this scheme? Or a Ghost drone pack? If not, which of the existing Super parts sets do you think would look best?
-
Bandai should hire you to take their product pics, Saburo. You have a gift for making every single one look amazing and desirable, and strangely, not quite so toy-like. Bandai hasn't learned that.

Meh. Intakes aren't as deep, the secondary intakes aren't flush with the boundary layer splitter, and the nose is too sharp in comparison to the art. All fatal flaws. Cancelling my pre-order at once! I'll make a pre-order just to cancel it!

That was David Bingen, I think. Shave off the mount tab to about half of what it currently is, and it should slot right in, according to him.

Out of curiosity, do you know how much the Lucifers were going for?
-
What would it be glued to?

Why would you want a V-6 Maserati anyway? I voted for the 25A because I like its real-world looking paint scheme and the fact that I can imagine it's mine, out in the Frontier universe. It's my Alfa Romeo 4C.

Preordered mine. I like the design and the colors, plus my small-but-growing Valkyrie squadron needs AWACS support. I truly hope the NUNS/triangle thing got resolved.
-
Thanks for that. So the "triangles" most people talk about are those tiny bits underneath the NUNS parts. If there was ever a part that cried out for diecast metal construction, that might be it. Hopefully, Luca's 171 has the better plastic bits, rather than the CF's.

A while back, someone asked for pics of these parts. I second that request, please.

Better late than never.

If the 30th VF-1J ever get to $50 or thereabouts, I'll grab one to disassemble and soak in mineral spirits to get rid of the markings. Then I'll stare at the pile of white parts that remain and wonder what the hell to do with them.
-
25A. Not even close.

Going to go against the flow, I like the back-swept, downward-canted canards the best. Pic #3.
-
Finally figured out what I don't like about this design, other than the forward-facing canards: too much fuselage, not enough wing. Battroid does look awesome though. No offense to those who do like it, I just never have and couldn't put my finger on what it was until talented people posted plane pics perfect for perusal. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Yeah, it'll probably be one weapon pod and the underwing missiles from the 171EX Super parts set. Then another pod and, hey, some 1/60 SMS ground crew! And another pod and maybe a new plastic stand to look like a revetment or something. By then, one of the Chronos' repaints, either Thrust or Skywarp, will become available, and the cycle of color-matched pods will begin again. It's the circle of Frontier life.
-
I saw that. Gives me hope for an add-on pack containing new weapons - maybe large missiles - and underwing stores.

How does a webshop exclusive order work? Do you pay up front, or when it's shipped? Thanks!

Yes, but the difference in canard position and shape, difference in intake shape between Battroid and fighter, and Battroid's slender legs might not translate at all well into fighter. It just seems to me that, lacking replaceable parts, a compromise Valkyrie might be problematic.

Unless they use pliable rubber for... certain parts, a MAXL will be a parts-former like nothing else.
