  1. Looked at one listing that @chyll2 has linked for us to see and there's one listing asking close to $1K USD (or $1.3K CND). Are you freaking dead serious?? @enphily: Hope that you can source out another means of getting the 31a.
  2. I can see why you want to preserve the 1/55 Ostrich and I don't blame you. There's actually an auction on ebay for the same copy of the 1/55 Ostrich asking for roughly $2,300.00 USD MIB (from fairwaycomicsncollectibles). Hmmm.. In this case, you can still do your comparison pics with the boxed 1/55 and the HMR then. On a side note, one of my friends from YYZ has acquired a G1 Grand Max from an auction six years ago and has it encased in a plastic prison (has opened up for verification purposes and authenticity) after that. Don't know if he still has it with him or had it shipped to his parent's/brother's house in YYZ for safekeeping as he is working in Mainland China.
  3. I do agree with you there. The smoke weathering makes it more realistic and it adds more contrast as the first version looks like there's something missing.
  4. Can you do a comparison pic with the HMR version when it gets released (if possible)? Despite that the Yamato/Arcadia valks in the 1/60 looks more suitable, I do miss the Chunky Monkey versions.
  5. I'm starting to like this version more. I wonder if the Mirage's Ba variant in 1/60 will have the Xaos logo in the shield n'est pas?

@SuperDimensionalDave, @no3Ljm, @Shizuka the Cat, @Slave IV: Don't forget the Pro-culture City as well (if Arcadia's version is hard to acquire) . Just a thought: I know that the launch arm was teased upon the showing of the HMR display, how is weight distribution going to be effected when the arms are extended and with the claws holding the valk at the same time without tipping over (is it going to be like the Yamato Valk stand to a degree)?

Wasn't this a custom Zentreadi suit that was done by a member or was it posted awhile back on twitter?

Taken a quote from ST:ANH (with a twist): "Aren't you short to be a Zentreadi?"

Ooo... An announcement for the Super Ostrich. Going to get a copy upon pre-order night (if able to) or just acquire one when the it's available upon release. Edit: Hopefully that either Tenjin's or Obari's artwork will be on the box.
  10. Well.. I'm not going to stop Shizuka from getting his Macross fix regardless, it's the reality factor that actually hits you in the guts as I'm working towards on getting a Property Management Certificate. Tuition, transit fees, cost of rent, et all in YVR is a killer [not to mention that YVR is the most expensive province in entire Canada for a liter of gas (petrol)]. I'm actually being very selective on my Macross purchases as I focus on the valks that I want, if anything else that catches my interest, then it's a consideration. I'm waffling on another 1/6th figure to either get or not as BBTS has the listing on as a pre-order for a POP Toys Warrior Women (Butterfly Helmet Series) Luxury either in Blue or Red.
  11. @Shizuka the Cat: There's no stop to you isn't there in regards to Macross related items and you're going to be deeper in the red with all those impulse purchases. So that interns that you can maybe kiss your doctorate degree goodbye (realistically speaking) ??
  12. @Shizuka the Cat: I can't say for the Frontier valks in person, get the renewal versions (v.2) of the VF-25s and I echo @derex3592's reply. As for the VF-171s, go for the VF-171EX versions [Alto, Luca and the Maruyama (with the Sheryl Nome Ishta)] and avoid the CF version (Nightmare plus) as the triangles are prone to breakage and the legs falling apart when you fiddle with it (this actually reminds me of the MP-09 Rodimus Prime in some way. Was going for the TRU version, but after hearing the shoulders explode, did not pick up a copy). I have the VF-171EX Alto and the armoured parts. The arms upon transformation are hair-raisingly super tight when you try to move it and it feels like you going to break the arm right in half and the armoured parts need a little mod to get it fitted properly as it has a habit to pop out. My suggestion is to get a small bottle of shock oil, use a small drop of oil on the joints and hopefully it will make less frustrating for you (haven't tried it personally). The Armoured parts are interchangeable with other VF-171s (I don't know about Lucas as he has the radar dish and the sensor vane on his). If you want another valk which is even more frustrating, get the SV-262 Ha (Keith). As much as I like the SV-262 fighter mode, I didn't get a copy however I did get the Yamato SV-51 Nora (waiting on the news on the Arcadia's version). @ScrambledValkyrie: I'm going to team up with @Slave IV and further nudge you to get a 1/48 valk. I've got the Fast/Strike parts already and have decided on which of the 1/48 valks to acquire in a few months time.
  13. Have you though about getting a detolf/curio cabinet since the ones are being squished like sardines at the moment?
  14. Not feeling the colour scheme on Mirage's Ba variant in the battroid version, however the fighter version doesn't look too bad. On a side note: Is there a reasonable explanation on why the Lil' Drakens are so hard to find these days? The plausible explanations on my theory: The add-ons are made in limited quantities (compared to Keith's Ha) Buying them do to the Delta's movie release and the craze of having the Lil' Drakens being used on the 31's on the wing joints Too quiet on the SV-262 news front as Bandai is saying nothing in regards to future releases on either the Elvis or the Pope variants; however is there anyone that can verify or correct my theories? Much appreciated.
  15. I'm actually thinking of the TOS series where Kirk took Khan into the Enterprise in the Space Seed episode when you said that. I believe that some did mention this quote before (to a certain degree): "Down the Rabbit Hole you go, when to stop, no one will ever know".
  16. @Slave IV: Since you're a good enabler (and others as well), can we happily push @Shizuka the Cat towards in getting a 1/48 valk and going down the rabbit hole further?

Looks good with the 1S headscupt! Hmm.. I might get one for my HMR Roy.
  18. Huh?? I thought the Kairos canopy cover is supposed to be clear like Messers (according to the promo pic posted by @IXTL), however I guess that Bandai decided to make it a universal yellow/light amber colour instead.. Edit: The numbering is different as well.
  19. Ugh.. Like the Magnus sculpt, however the head needs work and the helmet as well. Is that supposed a rough representation of Sir Ian McKellen's face?? I know that it came out as the Jubes BAF lineup back in August/September 2014. Love the sculpt and colours on Warren as Archangel (no wonder that he was the most sought after figure at that time). @Bahamutzyro: Did you have the blue dots issue on your copy of Hoth Leia? There is a write up on the One Sixth Warriors Forums if you did have the time to read it.
  20. That's why I don't order from NY anymore due to the fiasco with my HMR DYRL Strike Roy as they asked me (and others) for additional Yen to cover the payment for the extra orders of the HMY Roy that they under estimated on at the MRSP and had to source out more additional copies to keep with the demand. As I look at the pics of the Kairos more, I'm starting to warm up on this version although I'm aiming to get Arad's if possible (that may change later on).
  21. This actually reminds me of Star Wars: AOTC (when you see the waves of the Clone Army being deployed) or in ROTJ (where the Imperial troops are lined up in the Darth Star landing bay and ready for the Emperor's inspection).
  22. These figures in black the remind me of the current Marvel Comic title: Weapon X in where Wolvie (Old Man Logan), X-23, Warpath, Lady Deathstrike, Sabertooth and Domino team up and go against other members of the rebooted Weapon X project. I haven't had an opportunity to pick up the TPBs of the storyline (or read it online) yet; however from what I heard, it got very good reviews. Note: What was Marvel Legends thinking while doing Psylocke? It's looks like that they didn't give much thought on her as the suit looks terrible when you first look at it. It doesn't look like a one piece cat suit/bathing suit for that matter.. I actually have planned another 1/6th figure. Not the Galactic Empire per se, it's actually from a comic book series that was done by an Eisner winner. I'm in a conversation with a member from the One Sixth Warrior forums and she is a Macross fan as well. As the quote by Emgo's wife (Loriplan) on her YouTube channel goes: "Girls can be geeks too".
  23. Isn't that the Sentinels which was offered at TRU a few years back (or not)? Just acquired this three hours ago after re-formatting my Detolf of selected TFs and used the credit for this. Thinking of getting another 1/6th figure later this year.
  24. I'm more in parallel with @spacemanoeuvres as I don't like Delta as a series however I do like the valks . For myself, I rather have a break in between Macross releases (started in September/October of last year) as I'm thinning out/refocusing my TF collection that I acquired for over six years since I moved back into YVR from YYZ (still got to sort out the ones that I have in storage). I might get another 1/6th figure sometime later on this year has I still have a Hot Toys AVP (v.1) Scar Pred that I got in YYZ. As for Macross stuff wise: I've got the what I want in regards to the HMR line up: VF-1S Roy (DYRL), VF-1J with the GBP, VF-2ss (Silvie) and VE-1. For the valks itself: Arcadia VF-1S Roy (DRYL), Yamato SV-51 (Nora), Bandai VF-171EX Alto (have the armoured parts for it as well) and the one of the 1/48 valks (got the Fast/Strike Parts on the way). Thinking about getting the 31s or 31a (with the armoured parts), SV-262 (Keith/Roid) with the Lil'Draken add-on, and the Arcadia SV-51 Nora [it all depends on my budget]. Besides that, I've been collecting 3 comic book series only: Marvel Old Man Logan (current run), Marvel Spider Gwen and Dark Horse: Usagi Yojimbo Saga (all in TPB versions) and will get certain crossovers titles if it interests me.
