  1. Incredibly risky to kill all your kinetic energy like that, would assume it would only be useful in very limited, specific scenarios.
  2. Free US aircraft skin update coming on the 20th, very nice.
  3. While we're on the subject of Super Hornets... https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/35272/boeing-shows-super-hornets-bristling-with-14-missiles-in-formal-sales-pitch-to-canada
  4. There's another with a good look at the toy of the fictional scifi jet that they teased in the trailer, its a tailless delta wing sorta like what potential NGAD designs look like.
  5. Calibrewings tried posting a photo of one of their employees posing with Kawamori as if to make it seem like there's a sliver of legitimacy to their blatant copyright infringement, who're they trying to fool here? https://twitter.com/paramilipic/status/1284376052081373185
  6. While on the subject of fantasy, I've been really into Witch Hat Atelier and Dungeon Meshi. Would be nice if they got animated adaptations, although it would be hard to do the art style on the former justice! Gorgeous manga, that.
  7. I don't think the Far Cry franchise is "good", but I enjoyed FC5 (not so much for the gameplay as for the setting, themes, music, etc). Might pick FC6 up, tropical locations are fun.
  8. https://www.airrecognition.com/index.php/news/defense-aviation-news/2020/july/6416-japan-plans-to-start-mass-production-of-new-local-made-stealth-fighter-aircraft-in-2031.html "The new stealth fighter aircraft will be developed by the company Mitsubishi Heavy Industries as main contractor, based on the X-2. In 2016, Japan unveiled an experimental fifth-generation fighter technology demonstrator, dubbed X-2 “Shinshin” (formerly the ATD-X), which was intended to serve as the basis for the F-X fighter. The Mitsubishi X-2 Shinshin, formerly named ATD-X, was a Japanese experimental aircraft based on advanced stealth fighter aircraft technology. It is being developed by the Japanese Ministry of Defense Technical Research and Development Institute (TRDI) for research purposes. The main contractor of the project was Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. On 27 March 2020, Japan rejected designs proposed by Lockheed Martin, Boeing and BAE Systems. The designs submitted by all three defense contractors include a hybridized F-22/35 fighter, a design based on the Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, and another based on the Eurofighter Typhoon respectively. According to an official from the Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA) the designs did not meet their requirements and that no decision has been reached on the air-frame design. The decision places Mitsubishi Heavy Industries at the forefront in developing the stealth fighter. However, the decision did not rule out the possibility of international collaboration; as Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman and BAE Systems are still listed as potential partners."
  9. I also collect aviation books (nonfiction and fiction both).
  10. Queen, in my anime? More likely than you think. This show looks pretty interesting, and I really like the character designs. https://twitter.com/GrePre_anime/status/1266302571947257856?s=20
  11. If there's anything Kawamori is good at, its coming up with cool VF designs
  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIvnLgLuVFs DCS Supercarrier trailer, pretty awesome
  13. https://thepostmillennial.com/trudeau-government-cancelled-replacement-of-60-year-old-snowbird-planes-in-2018 "Internal government reports revealed concerns over the aircraft's safety for some time. In 2003, for example, "escalating technical, safety and financial risks" caused civil servants to request that the Snowbird planes should be replaced "immediately."
  14. Those Tutors have been in dire straits for years. Another tragedy due to successive decades of the government playing hot potato with the defence budget.
  15. Yep, they've teased a brand new VF design, and I'm personally hoping to see if Kawamori has finished the transformation mechanism for the Sv-164 Svard.
  16. CF Snowbird crash in Kamloops today. No word on injuries or deaths. https://vancouverisland.ctvnews.ca/mobile/snowbirds-plane-crashes-after-taking-off-in-kamloops-b-c-1.4943375
  17. Stumbled across this girl on youtube, she can really drum! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Njmd7hWGpr4
  18. I don't remember the books or the OVA ever mentioning how thick/thin the atmosphere, and how strong the gravity is on Faery. It seems to be close enough to Earth since people can go outside without much difficulty.
