The fact that you're using a PC monitor might just be the thing; I had this composite-VGA converter for my computer monitor, and while it was good enough it wasn't as good of a picture as the TV. Not knowing your monitor personally I just think it's the fact that it's priority is computer-first TV second. Try it on a friend's TV maybe.

Instead of giving you a feel of the world, they just kept trying to get the point across that in this world kings hold the political power. I said it too on the BSG threads, do these advertisers never watch the shows they're supposed to be selling? But I did see it on NBC's website and it looks like it has potential. I like how you are kinda in the dark as to even how this world is shaped much less what's influencing it. Like alot of other Sci-Fi/anime you're just thrown into it.

Darn too many comments to quote. Oh well finally got to watch it: 1. I thought Cavil/John went out in a cheezy way. Yeah I think we all expected him to get punked but not by himself. 2. I liked the whole "This is Earth now because we say it is" thing. Gave all the right reasons but still was funny. 3. I too enjoyed the OS theme reprise as the ships headed off to their shining beacon. 4. They didn't have poo as it was, and New Caprica worked out so awesome, so it made perfect sense for them to revert. 5. I for one am glad they didn't go in depth with the mythology/religion. Yes you need to know why they thought those ways but there should be some things that the viewer is aloud to think for themselves. Baltar over all was done great with logic vs. philosophy and survival vs. purpose. I was expecting him to go to the starboard side too, and cringed when he didn't because I could see how with that and the "confusion" with the download the makings of a "bad end" but they decided not to. 6. Hera was supposed to be the start, and how many skeletons would last that long? They put so much into making her the link to the future and what not it would be a killjoy if they found Cottle's bones.
