  1. Definately I'd like to see 1/72 or 1/60. I won't buy a 1/48, though. Too much "bling bling" for me. Nosecones? I don't mind it as an option, but i'd like to be able to not have to change nosecones. I don't care if battroid looks a little weird compared to the anime magic as long as fighter mode is primo. Radar underneath would be nice. Eh, I don't want a color booklet. KISS (and cheap! so the cost don't get passed onto us like it undoubtedly would be anyway). Same with the display stand. Just functional landing gears will do for fighter and the legs will do the rest in battroid and gerwalk. The rest seems to be quality control. C'mon this is Yamato. Just accept crummy stickers, decent to good paintjobs, little bit of flash and chipped paint here and there. If they can maintain current QC everything will be ok. Extra hands would be nice. No skeleton things... either do something like the Toynami MPC hands or leave them like the VF-1 1/60 hands.
  2. I've yet to find one in stores yet... had my hands on a Takara and let it go... Won't do THAT again!
  3. Great, so all of us who bought multiples of the 1A version can feel like we wasted money? I woudln't feel like i wasted money. Though I'd replace -1S with 1J. Roy is the ONLY 1S there should be... at least as early as M0. As far as the guy saying I should buy another one... I'm not paying $200 for a Low-Viz sans armor, though if someone wants to sell their used one I'll be happy to take it off their hands... and even then it'd be another squad member! And the leader would still be wanted! To the other guy who mentioned 1/60, I'm totally with you! Yamato Low-Viz, first in the new and improved 1/60 series featuring all the 1/48 features (removable nose-cone with radar, flaps, telescoping feet and semi-"perfect" transformation)... Or at least make 'em as standard 1/60 VF-1A's but make it a 4-pack... 1x 1J and 3 1A... Ok ok, I'll have to look for an old used Hikaru 1A or two and paint it. But yeah. New head means a good re-issue. It worked for Hikaru!
  4. Looks great and something somewhat refreshing. Jedi overused in AotC? Outside of the Arena battle scene and most of em bite the bullet. it's been like every other movie with 1-3 good and 1-2 bad.
  5. Heh, that's great. Speaking of the Evil Dead cover I sadly passed on it, but it was pretty cool.
  6. They could release another Limited Edition Low-Viz.... the VF-1J. My Low-Viz would like to have their team leader present.
  7. Nice.

    HLJ Sale Again!

Nothing against Kevin (my gf gets me my valks from him when I'm due), but one doens't HAVE TO pay EMS with HLJ. I got my FP and Low Viz via SAL and saved a bit of money doing so.
  9. Could Kawamori redesign a new (earlier, mid, and/or later "block") of the VF-1? Sure. He wisely hasn't released a definitive end-all and be-all catalog of the evolution of the VF-1. Would it require a retcon? No, but there's already precedent (DYRL and "movie in a movie" for one and then the banishment of the MII storyline along with the games and such that were apparently leading up to it). Should he redesign the VF-1? Well he could make the wings a little funky. Really I think that NEEDS to be done to make the VF-1 look and feel more advanced is equivalent animation. Instead of early 80s Anime Friend we could have a CG VF-1 with slight changes in details (panel lines, wing shape, canards, etc). All of which could have been from a version of the VF-1 *before* the events of SDF Macross (possibly even *during* with another squadron or two or ten and/or something left on Earth and not assigned to the SDF-1's valkyrie compliment). It COULD all be made easily self consisent. Just like the prequels are with SW.
  10. On Psychokorps page they had translations of the animated things but not the "live action" (talk show or concert - damn talk about almost embarrassing to watch) stuff IIRC.
  11. Oh yeah, wanted to add that the valkyrie designs are great! VF-2SS is nice and all but I like the Metal Siren. It's what Big West's answer to Gundam could have/should have been. Yamato 1/48 and 1/60 Metal Siren please. Fett's armor is nice, too.
  12. Hey, what happened to the MW Skin? Oh yeah, anyways, I like Macross II. Maybe even more than DYRL (which it's a sequel to). Just remember the whole alternate universe bit is a gigantic retcon (even moreso than DYRL's "move in a movie" bit). Objectively, it COULD still happen in the offiical Macross universe. Yeah get used to the M7 hate from certain people. It was nice to hear pieces of M II music in M7, I thought.
  13. The language difficulty problem is ridiculous. All you would need is a point of contact who was fluent in both Japanese and English in Yamato (or contracted by Yamato) who would tell an English speaking webmaster what he wanted. Shawn, for example, could easily do it and there would have to be at least some actually in Japan. Whether they SHOULD or not (due to how much it would cost and especially the fact that they're not openly courting the international market) is a different issue, but language difficulties preventing it are a strawman at best.
  14. Looks pretty nice. Hopefully I'll be able to find one cheaper after a month or two.
  15. Of course I'd like to see a Yamato Engrish, I mean English web site.

    Larger Scale VF-0

1/60 because it's the only scale with as complete a set of the VF-1 as u're gonna get (don't hold your breath for 1D or Super O for 1/48). There are no more VF-1's to make except extremely niche (Max 1S, Kakizaki, etc). 1/48 is ridiculous. A 1/48 VF-0 would be 200 bucks minimum, but I'd be extremely surprised to see it happen at all. I don't remember a "Sith Proclamation" that Yamato was done with 1/60 after the Q-rau, but if so, it simplymeans no enemy mecha. <_< I'll hold out for 1/72 and 1/100 (the latter gets better the more I think of it). I hope they do everything in one (or both) of those scales from VF-1 to Q-rau to Monster to Regult and Glaug. EDIT: Oh yeah, and what's wrong with polls? Not like anyone forcing anyone to make a decision... I mean some of them are silly but how is that bad? Where's that quote about MW whining as a hobby?
  17. Well I hope they don't shrink the YF-19FP. I was imagining it's just a resculpt and didn't consider altered scale or removable parts. Eh, I can by removable parts but don't think its necessary. Bandai got some portions of the 19 sculpt done better... Yamato just needs to CAD it and instruct the sculptors appropriately. But we'll see.
  18. Especially a bunch of "younglings".
  19. It sounds like its for proportions not for transformation... As far as a revised 1/60, I've suggested just such a thing. There aren't any of the 1/48's detail features that COULDN"T be effectively added to a 1/60 (from the nosecone to the flaps to the intakes/covers to the telescoping feet... even the skeleton hands are all easily doable in 1/60 without making them more fragile). And I PREFER the 1/60s backpack design (even if it's not as anime accurate it's not gonna snap of on you unless u abuse it - which is more than u can say for the 1/48's). It's just like Bandai can have different levels of Gundam, Yamato SHOULD be revising the 1/60 line (maybe 1/100 following M Zero). I would love to have 1/100 VF-1's by Yamato along with Regults, Q-Raus, Nos-Ger, Glaugs, etc. Far more affordable and if they're playable too... they'll happily mix it up with VF-0s and SV-51s...
  20. I'm thinking the DYRL helmet could possibly work for paintball too. Just have to get it safety rated. Be a shame to scratch up such an expensive helmet, though.
  21. Tall as a VF-11B huh? Well that doesn't make it sound so bad. I wish it was in scale with my 1/60 valks but understand the thing would be as big as a 1/48... Definately loving the part about PVC and affordability. Can't beat that! Congrats on your upcoming child, too, Graham!
  22. Yeah. If they could get safety helmet cert I'd rock one on a motorcycle. I'm sure that would sell in Japan and over here, too. Oh well.
  23. SOME part swapping I'm ok with. Removal and such (ala 1/60) i'm all for as long as it can help make it cheaper, especially if good plastic is used instead of die cast (all die cast does is chip anyways). That said, I prefer the removal of parts for transformation rather than be required to carry around parts with me for said transformation (removal of heat shield, but dislike needing to carry around a canopy or heat shield, for example).
  24. Ah I see you've been busy BSU. Yeah it is a great clip. Gonna be a looong year. The opening space battle is also supposed to be the largest in any SW movie with multiple capital ship on capital ship engagements. As far as the duel, it's been said it's gonna make the Maul/Obi-Wan fight look like the SW kid.
  25. Exactly. That's a rant if there ever was one. The stand? Eh, what's the point (especially for Gerwalk?)? I actually will like a 1/100 zero if it's CHEAP. If the thing is even close to 7800 then I"m gonna call it seriously overpriced.
