  1. Well this has been raised befor eover the years anumber of times but... The way I would do it is to use your paint programme ideally paint shop pro or photoshop or gimp to remove all pixels that match the blue green clolur of the decal sheet. The only problem then is that all the wight decals wont showup. Printing white is difficult unless you have some really high end printing stuff, I supose you dont as you`d not be asking if you did. An Alps printer can do a withe print but these are sadly no longer made and are geting hard to find both working/new and as spares. If you dont want the white decals like the UNSpacy script then no worries, as for the kites just print onto a peice of white decal paper. Better results are from the laser printer decal sheets these are available on Evilbay quite cheaply. If you dont have a good res color laser printer save the file format as graphics shop format and take it to the printers and get them to print it out. For your interest I use Paintshop pro 9 Photoshop CSV (sometimes) and Serrif Draw and Seriff 3D a cheap scanner and the colour laser printers at work Generally as a rule I scan em in at a high res and then in my paint programme scale it down to the correct size for the original decal sheet and then go to work on them. I have a programme that converts the jpeg from the scanner into a vector graphics image which scales down with out loss of quaility. This helps so much you can if you like just draw over them using the layers function in a vector format wich is perfectly scaleable. Hope this gives you some insights Im sure that the others here who are into this too will chime in and fill in the bits I missed out etc.
  2. Ahhhh that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling all over
  3. Yeah and you`ll notice that I have bought nearly all of the 1/72 wave kits on evilbay in recent history. I have multipuls of each one now. My VF17 fighter will happen with or with out Hasegawa. I just need to clear the project decks a bit. Im gonna do some molding and then mod the casts and see how things go. If it works out I may farm it out to someone better than me at casting. It`s a while off for now though.
  4. a thing of beauty..
  5. You really cant beat a good set of decals and a pot of decal set or something similar. The Yamies are forgiving on some areas but anything too curved or too dark and the stickers show up.
  6. I noticed the colour changes in the anime as well. Maybe you could do it the greyblack and laquer it in a washed down purple candyflip if it was washed down it would be subtle and just change when the ligh catches it right. I would hardly notice but would be enough to give you purple/black highlights etc.
  7. >EXO< the fall boy of Macross
  8. Lookin good MT I so wanted to do an Airshow this year missed the Fairford Airshow again, between my not remembering and work geting in the way, I manage to miss em.
  9. Mm could be interested.
  10. Awww you gotta love some of the old kits. All that sanding, wondering if you`ll sand right through the thing before the seam is gone. It`s a wonder any of us oldies bothered.
  11. LOL "so why cant we do it Yamato san ?" "err.... Theres not enough plastic in the world right now"
  12. I have the actual font set somewhere so you can write in it. Could be usefull for custom decals and such, loads straight into windoze.
  13. I just wish that Hasegawa had released them en mass instead of it being a hard to find kit bash conversion kit.
  14. I had some problems with version 6 of I.E but since updating to version 7 and using Firefox no real problems, Except the Samurai Monkey forum wich wont behave in Firefox. it works fine in I.E and in Firefox Via I.E tabs. With all the addons you can get for Firefox I.E looks abit bland, even version 7 which is a direct rip of Firefox. Try switching and see what happens.
  15. What browser are you using ??
  16. Yeah my brother uses it on his scale boats, sands well and seems to be able to withstand floating in a lake with only a light clearcoat.
  17. So thats how you sculpt anime wavy hair.
  18. Well you got my atention when you said 1/72 , and I realised you wernt talking toys
  19. Yeah it`s almost voyeristic.
  20. Probably easier if you give the dimesions to Mechtech and he could wizz you up one, aparently he`s quite good with styrene. If not I fear it could be the long hard slog by hand, I had something similar a few years ago took ages to get it right.
  21. I just got from a garage sale a mint still all wrapped up as the day it left Hasegawa a 1987 vintage F-14 A kit Number K12:1200 For anyone who can remember kits from that long ago. Checked it out and the instructions are page for page identical to the macross one. the only difference it the Macross kit has a diferent decal set and an extra sheet to show you where to put the decals. All I need to do is replicate the MZero decals and away I go. The really great thing is I paid £5 for it. To think I nearly bought a new one for £20
  22. It`s got the same laser bits as the classic voyager Jetfire has except they`re orange instead of blue.
  23. Mmm.... but look at who designed them.....
  24. Thaks for sharing that with us. Scary to think that they are fully capable of churning out kits or figures you need a microscope to paint. Using the cad system its easy to see how they manage to chrun out kits in several scales so easily that have excellent detail.
