  1. And where did you get this notion? There is nothing about this in the movie. BOB tells the crew of the Palomino that Reinhardt killed McCrea's father. If you are referring to the scene at the end where the Cygnus is burning in Hell, where a face is behind Maximillian's shell, that is in fact Reinhardt. Okay, back on topic. Apparently I pulled this notion straight out of my ass. That's how I remember it but I havn't seen it in 20+ years so I have no idea what I'm talking about as usual. I only remember Vincent because I used to doodle him all over my desk in the 3rd grade.
  2. for a minute there I thought it was the floating robot from Disney's Black Hole movie. You mean Vincent? I love that little freak. Damn! The last time I was when I was a wee little boy. Man has it been that long? Yeesh I need to find the movie again. Everyone knows that the best robot from The Black Hole is Maximillian. He don't use lasers to kill his enemies. He shreds them up with his spinning blades! Okay, I couldn't draw his spinning blades, so sue me! Ahhh... but he wasn't a robot at all. He was the girls father that they had come looking for in the first place.
  3. I just read Dirk's article. I didn't get the impression that he wanted to be Starbuck again. It seems to also go a bit deeper in that he sees the new Galactica a a reflection of the changes in our society which he finds unfavorable. They've taken a charachter he obviously spent alot of time and effort bringing to life and ruined it in his eyes. I have to say I wasn't thrilled to find out Starbuck was a chick either but I've gotten over it. Here's a link with the article for the curious: http://www.dirkbenedictcentral.com/home/ar...ticle.php?nid=1
  4. it was called the "galaxy defender" and it sold for like $10 at target and walmart....they might still have some since the toys were kind of an eye sore. and yes, i remember the valk with the LED cockpit. the only redeeming quality that made it worthwhile was to get the gunpod/clip and missiles. [link. clicking here will cause hairloss] $72,000
  5. Shouldn't it be blue for the "virgin road" version? I believe that was a 2 seater version of Max's 1J, but I could be wrong.
  6. Probably because Hatch wanted nothing to do with this new series. He absolutely hated the idea of a reinvisioning, untill he actually saw it. After he saw the mini-series, he really liked what they were doing with it. They would never have gotten him on board for the mini-series. I wouldn't be surprised if his character makes more attempts to "free his people." I'd still like to Dirk Benidict show up, for at least one episode. The big comeback. I though Hatch was the one pimpin it from the start.

  8. I'm kinaa thinking he'll try to get himself elected president. I seem to remember when they were trying to get this made he was going to play Adama I wonder what hapened to that.
  9. It looks more like they're at batting practice than weilding weapons.
  10. why would they give magnus a new head? under the armor he looks just like convoy...? I've only ever seen transformers the movie which is what got me hooked when i think i was about 7 yrs old. Ultra Magnus is completey diff in the movie, in the series does his "brain" get put into primes body and he gets a new paint job??? I don't think they ever showed Magnus in bot mode without his armor but I didn't watch the cartoon too much. I just liked the toys.
  11. Is Hatch's charachter going to be in more episodes or was that a one time deal?
  12. i stand corrected. i didn't have valks next to me to compare, being at work and all. i never realized there was such a HUGE difference so scratch my idea. i just thought a detachable nose cone would be cool cause then we could come up with some way to attach it to the forearm of a valk. yes i'm dreamin..... I hear ya. I had the same thought. That's what propted me to scrutinize the differences. It doesn't mean the new nose couldn't come with optional parts to make a detached nose for Roy to tote about. ActuallyI think I'd almost rather have that than a complete D.
  13. The chestplate is dramatically different. The longer cockpit needs extra space. Here's a quick comparison using 1/60s.
  14. If you look at his past auctions it appears he sold a Bandai strike with only the skull heatshield so thats probably where the amber canopy came from.
  15. YEs I am sure. Takatoku only released two vertions of the VF 1S, the White that comes with the super Pack and the Grey that comes without nothing but a gun and missiles. The GBP 1S armor gift set only included the same 1S sold before without FP. So Takatoku only made two vertions, white and grey. LAter Bandai took over the license and the Taka molds, this because our good ol Takatoku went under due to the Lack of MW and their avid collectors, BAndai then released the DYRL Valks (VF 1s Strike, VF 1A, Elint, Ostrich) And that is the fast story, Taka was Macross, Bandai DYRL. Later BAnadi released their TV VF 1S Focker in the 1990s featuring a crappy ABS plastic, new head and landing gears sculps with the Super Armor. That is as far as I know for VF 1S in 1/55. EDIT>> Well, there are also the Taiwanese VF 1S from the 1990s, the Bandai Reissue, the Chinese Boots... but those are newer stuff. Taka... only two. Sorry I should have used the quote button. My question was aimed at the starter of the thread.
  16. Yo Hater I've got those stickers, you can have em. I still have your addy I'll drop em in the mail for ya tommorow.
  17. The MW main site has pics of them all: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/takatoku.htm Are you sure that third one you speak of isn't the Bandai reissue?
  18. A detachable heatshield would be fine with me. Especially since it'll probably have to be painted and therefore prone to scratching.

It looks like she's farting into her helmet.
  20. There's a red Joons with a 1A head but they're so increadibly rare that you shouldn't even bother.
  21. They're kind of tight but not too bad. I take mine off whenever it's in fighter mode so that the arms can close up better. I couldn't get a better pic so I drew a diagram so you can see exactly where the action is.
  22. Is that how Toynami told you to put on the replacements? The hands attach to the rotating piece by little pegs. You shouldn't need to take the arm apart at all. I took a pic but my antique digi-cam doesn't do macro very well.
  23. IIRC The original starts at the end of the Cylon war. The Galactica was escorting the council of 12 to the Cylon homeworld to sign a peace treaty when they attacked.
  24. I just saw it. Prime was funny but the Cylons were even funnier. I think that prime might have been the robotmasters Convoy.
  25. It's a mail in. http://www.hasbro.com/gijoe/pl/page.storms.../dn/default.cfm
