  1. Zentraedi vs Invid? Yeah...that's going to be Britai and Exedol in swim trunks on a beach somewhere, boiling crabs by the bucketful in a large pot while Quamzin is melting some butter and getting the beer cooler from the ship.
  2. In that case, I can imagine the following: "We've made several horrific mistakes, ones that will not only consume us, but those yet to come. To then try to tamper with time itself, in an attempt to resolve this dilemma, may leave the rest of the galaxy unable to ever end the Zentraedi/ Supervision Army War. Perhaps one day, the races we seeded might find a way to do so. To that end we will seal away what weapons we can and prevent any more destruction and misery from being wrought. As for ourselves: we do not know if we can ever be forgiven for bringing ceaseless war and unending death and destruction to this galaxy. For what have unleashed on the remaining life and civilizations to come, the least we can do is to rid them of our cursed presence. We deserve this fate... may no others ever follow our mistakes." Or am I reading too much nobility that I would like to see into their character?
  3. So the war between the Zentraedi forces and the Supervision Army is pretty much pointless by now. Both sides' have no commanders past those leading their fleets, with the Zentraedi's Protoculture leaders long since dead, and the Supervision Army's Protodevlin having since been sealed away, then after being released, found a way to create Spiritua on their own and abandoning their war. Two juggernauts locked in battle over a war long lost by both sides. One could almost imagine the horror that would result if an enemy found one of the command centers for the Protoculture and issued coordinates and new orders to all the Zentraedi fleets to attack Earth and her colonies...
  4. Not to mention that it was a Zentraedi (Guld Goa Bowman) who was both a designer and test pilot with the YF-21 project (presumably among other Zentraedi). Zentraedi aren't stupid by any means, and given the right tools and training, are very innovative and resourceful.
  5. Does that mean then that for all intents and purposes, Galaxy as a fleet is pretty much disowned by the New UN Gov't?? Or would they seek to rein them in and bring them back in line? I would venture that the defense grid is geared more towards repelling ships rather than fighter craft. Keep in mind that in Space War 1, the damage done to earth was from Zentraedi Warships firing on the planet: with the focus on that, it would be considerably easier for small one-man fighter craft to penetrate than the larger carrier/ assault ships.
  6. I was thinking was several could do to a planet? (Y'know...got weird hobbies here ) Okay, I found where I got my info from: Source: https://web.archive.org/web/20071010095624/http://www.steelfalcon.com/Macross/macross7.shtml I'm going to assume from what you told me that the info here is probably just something made up for the description here.
  7. Speaks to the intended power of a Battle-class; several of those could wreak major damage on an enemy. I've read where they have some of those serving without being attached to a colony fleet (part of battle groups and whatnot).
  8. With that description in mind, Seto: would it be possible to use a dimension eater weapon to absorb/ destroy another energy weapon beam ? Although I suspect such a weapon would be best used to destroy the ship/ fleet trying to fire it! From the sounds of it, those might have made a difference in Space War 1 if they had the tech back then!
  9. UPDATE: Got some paint work done; the first pic is normal light, while the second is flash photography: I used Sharpie marker colors dissolved into alcohol to vary the color on the Batmobile (the movie showed a slight iridescent/ color-shift to the car). Normal light in the first pic, flash photography in the second: I will be working to layer and blend this a bit more; I just have to let each layer dry or I risk dissolving the clearcoat and ruining the base coat. Cockpit: And of course, Batman: I still have detailing, color corrections and what not to do. I also need to get a transparent "black pearl" overcoat onto this to level the colord and bring it all together. Stay tuned...
  10. Of course, the one "warp" no one wants to talk about is the time warp from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. That one would deconstruct space-time as we know it and lead to the end of all things...
  11. Agree on both. Essentially, energy is life in a space battle. And in addition to the limited stores of energy, just how many systems can you run at once before it taxes your ship's/ fighter's systems? I know they are robust, but sooner or later, you're going to have overheating, competition of computer processing power, demands on already-used energy conduits, etc. At this point, I think something called "strategy" and another called "tactics" come into play...
  12. UPDATE: Got the seats built and installed; need to keep the bottoms relatively flat or Batman's ears will get clipped by the canopy when it closes: Got the fins done, and most overall construction. Still a few things to "button up", but most structural stuff is done (save for the slide joint for the canopy): And...a little sneak preview for everyone on the next step (currently underway): Stay tuned folks... atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed...
  13. *Imagines Macross Galaxy staff playing hopscotch using pages from Unity Law book*
  14. Butt joints? Or, pain in the butt joints? :p
  15. Okay...that makes sense. So they pretty much used the already-extant research, then just went that one extra step that nobody else would take and didn't tell anyone.
  16. Going to give Macross II a run; it's been a while and I'm feeling a bit nostalgic... Then after that, thinking about Cowboy Bebop and then The BIg O...
  17. Okay... so working on that then: basically, the BDI was intended for military use, but someone got the bright idea to see what other "applications" it could be used for, and introduced this into a fleet that was distant from any supervision other than those involved in implementing it? And they fed a line of guff to the home office to keep them happy, while turning the population of the fleet into their version of the Matrix?
  18. Really appreciate your take on this. Meantime, would it be out of line to infer that the YF-21 project's brain-direct systems at least contributed to the Galaxy's activities in their fleet involving their peopel?
  19. Let me put it this way: I think they took some heavy cues from Guld Goa Bowman's Brain Direct Imaging and Control systems for the YF-21. No one permits the development of that kind of tech without considering "other ways" it could be utilized, and not always in a "family friendly way" if you catch my meaning. If corporations are anything in that timeline like they are now, ascribing any sense of responsibility to them outside of the bare minimum they need to stay out of trouble is unwise. Doubly so when they feel they can skirt whatever oversight a government may have on them. So no: I don't "snort" when it's only been about 27 years (not long for a company that experiences in artificial bodies, mind-altering cybernetic implants and "augmented reality"). The players in the game may come and go or change during the game, but GG's long game is not a recent thing (especially given that "Lady M" is purported to have had something to do with the SDF-2 Megaroad and the circumstances surrounding its' disappearance.
  20. Thinking about the "SV" series... I didn't realize that other variable fighters had become that much of an issue to the UNS/ NUNS? Or is this more of General Galaxy's behind the curtain dealings that resulted in abominations like the Macross Galaxy fleet's enslavement of their population? Either way...really starting to not like GG.
