Battroid is perfect. Something weird about fighter mode though. I'd get a 1S and a 1D and be done with the vf-1. Ok, those two plus a CM Legioss/Tread, the YF-21, a supernova YF-19 and a VF-0D and I could be done with this god forsaken toy addiction... maybe if they ever did them, a VF-4 and a VF-17/171 and a VF-25... F* Macross Frontier

It's because I've preordered here with the early bird discount: toyntoys (All their prices are in Singapore dollar, SGD) I've read about people from the SGcollect forums getting their stuff in the physical store they have in Singapore plus some other Spanish forums cite it alongside HLJ as places to get Saint Seiya figures so I guess it's safe. These things were shown at a 22% discount in the first Japanese web page that showed them. There was bound to be another place that offered them close to that amount.

Poor CM, their designs are getting bashed all over this thread I'm paying 208 dollars + shipping for mine and I'm perfectrly okay with how they look. Screw the line art if the end product looks cool (and, IMO, CM achieved just that).From the very first pics over a year ago it was made clear that the toys weren’t going for line art accuracy. Can the legs look better in fighter mode? Since in that same pic the arms are mistransformed, who knows, maybe they can. Either way, IMO the thrusters have always broken the look of the fighter mode, be it Toynami or the original 2D design. I wanted to get a Aoshima too for the fighter mode but after what Eriku and Gilermo have experienced, no thanks. The CM fighter mode, with the correctly transformed arms looks nice on its own anyways.

Well I find the combo looking better and better with each new batch of pics. The link up, while not the part I care the most, does look very good in that pic. The tailfins sticking out a bit might be a design liberty taken to harmonise the look of the Legios and the Tread. Remember that the Tread in the series (and the official line art and also the CM toy) has a bit of the wings sticking out in the arms. Since they already took liberties to stylize the look of both the Legios and Tread, maybe they also decided to share some unifying element in what is a couple of very different looking mecha. And having the arms able to space out in fighter mode makes the plane look much better. Maybe there are still other misstransformed parts. The only thing I don't like so far is the green and red ones being hard to get limited editions.

I really want to see frontal pics of the battroid mode. Graham, will we see double jointed elbows like in the new 1/60 vf-1? Oh, and hope we don't see "Excalivur"... ...in eugimon's omega pants™

When you look that awesome you don't need to turn your face to see stuff, stuff moves so you can see it. Bisides, the eyes are on the sides of it's head, so the Legioss really doesn't need to move the head to see left and right I'm getting tired of waiting for these two to come out... just two months left for Mospeada goodness.

I need a VF-171 and an armoured VF-25. Those two Macross Frontier designs are just awesome. Bandai, we need at least SOC SPEC engineering on these babies pronto! Speaking out of my ass here, but does anybody think that Bandai might be behind the VF-X2 licence thing impeding Yamato doing a VF-17 and other stuff like the VF-22. Bandai did the game and are the main sponsors of Big West’s new Macross series so maybe they had a little leverage on the matter. Yamato could have made a quick buck making the VF-17 and other old designs that could pop up in MF in a slightly changed matter like the VF-171 does. That way Yamato would have been competing in an indirect way, and without paying big licence money, with whatever Bandai ended up making. Just a thought.

Zardoz pics are far more interesting than another four pages of beating the dead horse with the thick legs whine. Maximiria, are you now just trolling or is it just my imagination? Because a normal person that wants a design to change would make a thread dedicated to organize people to achieve that sole purpose instead of just spamming this thread like you have been doing after expressing your point of view loooong ago. BTW, no complaints about the beaver tail after the new pics showed how it looks. Looks like everyone here loves beaver! Someone mentioned the possibility of there being a delimiter mode seeing as there seems to be detail inside the fuselage. I see a blue piece o plastic with a weird shape but it could also be part of the sliding mechanism. Any other views on the matter?

Well, liking the CM design or not aside, for that QC ridden Alpha alone they asked 100$ a few years ago. Considering inflation and oil prices now, Toynami could ask for their wonderful product if it was first released today, what, 115-120$? That's just one Alpha. Two would cost 240$, almost the retail price of the CM combo (and two Alphas have a lot less mass than an Alpha and a Beta). Now the Beta was rumoured to go as much as 200$ by itself. That together with an Alpha at today’s price of ~60$ would put the Toynami version at the same price as the CM combo (and the CM comes with extras like the tiny mospeada with rider... not to mention a far greater history of quality products). Yep, both versions are/would be expensive but this time at least we are getting a product from a company that builds solid toys and that is added value in my opinion. Now people could wait and see if the price drops. The Toynami stuff has gone way down since it was released… unless you are talking about the Scott version which I’ve seen going for over $200 (don’t know if the Aoshima has affected their value).

You’re not alone on that thought. The Tread looks great and the Legios painted up goes up many points. This for me was never about the link up but about them looking great on their own (which, IMO, they do). I might even panel line them to bring out all the nice detail the sculpts have. The price could be lower seeing as the 29400 vs 21180 yen prices appears in other pages. It’s still under 200€ so if fits my budget.
