  1. perfect version = one without QC problems?!?!? I have soooo many perfect version bandai's Is this a sign that I should always hold off buying the newest and greatest yammie till the bugs get worked out?
  2. hmmmm... small orguss toy I care nothing about plus spare JM booster... Steal a head from a 1/100 kit... not sure about the arms though... Oh well... yet another project gets added to my "to do" list
  3. till then there is always the matchbox stuff... Lord knows I won't say no to a more detailed glaug when it comes around
  4. I see said the blind man to no-one in particular Always wondered myself. I have one I got from someone... a pod... kinda cool but still unassembled. what other words we should know does anybody have?
  5. really??? that could mean cheap 1/72 19a's in my future
  6. one would assume that as long as magnetism and the gereral rules of physics don't cease to exist... indefinately.
  7. ditto is there a way to save them to my PC for future watching off line?
  8. do I really have to get monkey to send me a bottle of blendy now? Is that truely what it says?I have a spot for it between my midget corona and my wild thyme vinager. Time in a bottle No wonder I have no shelf space I still have a bunch of empty ten cigarette malbore packs from england that go way beyond the normal surgeon general's warning and have a varity of such colorful slogans as... smoking while pregnant will harm your baby smoking is addictive smoking causes cancer smoking kills smoking will lead to getting yelled at by a fat pregnant woman in a welsh unisex trainstation bathroom you stumbled into because the friggin sign was in welsh Ok, so I made up the last one, but it's one they really should have had on the box

    It's official!!!

I share your pain. I like boxes as you can stack them to the ceiling, but there comes a point where you run out of flat places to start a stack. It's the loose stuff that poses the biggest problem as it doesn't stack... it just kinda piles up. I meant to respond to this post earlier but I kinda had to get access to my [not hers] computer... Oh yeah... Like my amazing photo shop skills hiding my stained carpet
  10. I remember hero interactive had been working on a sidescroller like that but in the demo they released you couldn't change to gerwalk or battroid modes. other than that the game was looking good. I haven't a clue why they stopped. thexter, or thexder... I forget, was a side scroller with a transforming valk like plane/robot from back in the days when the apple IIgs was around. I kind of like the idea of free transformation and power ups like a cross between thexder and darius twin. Why... who's got the free time to make one?
  11. and Colin Farrel with Blue Hair as Max Jenius. err....i mean sterling. Kevin bacon as gloval... kevin has to be in there somewhere ally mcbeal [calista flockheart] as lisa the professor from back to the future as the professor spice girls as the bridge girls??? bobcat "goldthwait" as a deranged citizen oh well, at least I would get to see ben affleck die
  12. first off... earthlink sucks I know what bad connections are like and if I actually paid for AOL I would sooooo complain. Have you tried other providers since? You may want to try an AOL 1 month free and see if it works better as that will tell you if it is your provider or your modem/house hold wiring. Do you have alternate dial up numbers as I know I have to change mine around periodically as more users jump on the same number and bog it down. Modem issues are either easy or a pain to diagnose... If it doesn't dial up at all it's easy to tell, if it's an intermittent problem it is a lot harder unless you want to drag your computer over a friends and try connecting from there, which is also how you would eliminate house-hold wiring as your problem. Good luck... hope that helps.
  13. the prisoner I watched every episode in order over a two day stretch in sarisbury UK and was more confused when it was done than when it started Damn rover and damned #2 glad you liked it SkullLeaderVF-X, did I send you fritz as well? I forget. That was a good one though, but not a series. Maybe buffy? Voyager was a pretty interesting, though sooooooooo filled with temporal anomalies . Still nice to see the borg get it proper I rarely get to see series finalies, and when I do I am usualy in a mental state the precludes remembering them drunken master 2 was better than 1, does that count?
  14. "stock" this... There's beauty in keeping things stock, hell...it'd be a damn crime If I customized my vintage 1/55 Millia VF-1J just to make it "unique". It's perfect as is. ugh, obviously dude, not everyone has a vintage valk collection, making it unique. there are tons of camaros on the road, but if you had a 68' you'd have something that not everyone can go out and get... as for my collection, it is currently "on loan" , but can be viewed, at least in part, on kid-k's website, the missing parts, which is the majority of it, either havent been customized yet, or were on display at this and last year's cons. While not everyone has a 68 camaro, or a 67 as in my case... most people have probably not had a wheel fall off while driving or a windshield wiper launch from the vehicle and land on a cop car . Now that I think about it... comparing 1/55's to my seatbelt-less, heater-less, wiper-less, roof leaky, broken motor mount, broken freeze plug, gas guzzling, rusted out brake line non-stopping camaro makes me start thinking I should start getting yammies... Oh wait... parts fall of them to
  15. I think it was kid how gave me a link to making the colapable gunpod. Lots of mods... You guys seem to think inside the box though. All I can really say is... "You want a piece of this?
  16. nothing I do add to my collection on a weekly basis. I could say money, but lack of money doen't prevent me from aquiring stuff... it just makes me search harder for better deals. Storage, or lack there-of, should hold me back but I find boxes stack nicely all the way to the ceiling My wife puts up with it as better refurbishing old toys for hours than spending the time at strip clubs... it's all how you make the argument Priorities do shift though, so while nothing prevents me per-say, I sometimes elect to waste money on other things like a third car so I can fix up my camaro proper... or at least not die in a heap of seat-beltless metal and flame before I get around to fixing the brakes on the camaro
  17. elint armour ??uhm im not redoing that one for now ill have to get cracking on the SDP project after this one so no time for that. "sniff" I'm never going to get my 1/55 Elint.....The quest will never end.... But I am happy to get the Armor! Just LMK when you need the payment! Rob MN Sorry monkey... you don't want to know what it took to swing this. There are so many small pieces I understand why few are willing to undertake the project, especially at robs level of perfection. The future is a wonderous thing however, so there might be a seeker recast in your and jwinges future sometime next year. Oh yeah... for anyone not yet familier with robs skill and level of beauty... Keep in mind he considered the molds worn out before he did this, if that gives a hint of what he expects from himself
  18. 3. The thing that got me about the re-issue bandai 19 and 17 was that they were packaged with the original style instructions that started off in batroid mode so you had to work backwards
  19. Holy cow rob! nice catch on that collection! Do you still have any of those? Or did you ebay them off already? Nice, really nice. all loose [and some of it glued] complete collection recently aquired by me, so I can talk about it now that it's in hand and I won't jinx anything... the old "don't count your chickens till they marry a striper in vegas" expression, or something like that: 2 destroid monsters 8 JM's with most armor, but time consuming restoration 5 officers pods [4 mint, one good for spawn custom ] 10 7" tomahawks in good shape 17 7" defenders in decent shape [1 missing head antenna thing] 9 7" gladiators [6 in decent shape... now] 1 invid scout 8 7" zen power armor all of the 3" destoids but one in my pic in the "army builders post" [80+] an original 12 1/2" gozilla figure 2 very abused 18" alien figures A gi joe 3 3/4" soldier tank that takes batteries [wombat?] in good shape a couple die-cast air planes of no particular interest to me a battle star galactica fighter with swapable noses [seemed a silly idea to me] All sorts of assorted bits for my bits box ranging from joe weapons to warhammer parts to who knows what. I wish I was as spoiled as the kids of the guy I got it from I knew about the macross stuff, the rest were an added bonus. Probably my single most expensive macross purchase to date, still not counting trade value with rob. I won't say just how much though as people would start hating me, lets just say it's nice to buy stuff besides precious metals [i was tempted to say drugs but some might get the wrong impression] based on weight . On a side note, look for lots of stuff in my trade post as soon as I take pics
  20. my 19 and 21 both feature attached legs and nice engineering. The vf-11b wasn't designed o have removable legs... it just kinda worked out that way for many quote------------------------------- I guess the only problem I have with some collector's is when they show off their collections as if they are superior because they went out and spent five thousand dollars on rare toys. They have three MIB strike valks which makes them better than a guy who only has one. Stock valks are great to look at and display, however I try not to take personal pride in a toy I just buy since it is kind of silly. Big whoopy, I filled out an order form and sent it in. About a million other people can do the same thing. I can see taking pride in having an extremely rare toy that you had to seek out and find, but other than that.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I am dang proud of my collection, though it's not like any material possesion makes me better than another. I don't take pride in my re-issues but I do like having them around. While I have many valks boxed and complete, I am not so lucky as to have enough disposable income to get what ever I want when I want it. I spend much time searching for stuff that I can actually afford, and I do take pride in some things I got ridiculously cheap. I take more pride in the knowledge that 80% of my boxed and complete stuff was incomplete when I got it. Out of, lets just say a few, jetfires... I only aquired one complete with all accessories, and it still needed a box and all the inserts which it now does. It brings me a sense of satisfaction evertime I got that last part I needed and put the toy away. Then there is the pride I take evertime I fix an old abused toy such as a glued together JM, a tail-less super o', broken main gun on a SDF, loose legged destroid monster, etc. I do have to agree that the pieces in my collection that are not replacable are not the common toys, with the exception of one for sentimental reasons, but the customs I created myself. Where the heck would I go to buy a violator valk??? It has a lot to do with the creation process and knowing that it comes from within. I am willing to bet that many of those who draw would rather watch all thier comics burn than their sketchpads. As a writer I know I would watch my library perish to save my notebooks, at least till I get everything put on PC and stored in a remote location . I would also agree that every collection should have at least one custom. Doesn't matter what, or how nice, but something enhanced post production. Obviously don't custom a pristine boxed specimine unless you really want to, but do make a custom. Mount a GI joe gun on a 3" destroid, paint an abused 7" destroid, rip the leg off a MPC and name it "gimpy", color a super posable with marker, drill out the left hand of an old bandai 1/55 so it can have a weapon in each hand, swap legs between yammie 1/60's for fun, get recast armor for something that shouldn't have it, bury an sdf-1 in the ground up to it's shoulders... whack it with a shovel... and call it a diorama, do something. Why do I still love 1/55's??? because I can gets more parts cheaper, which is the same reason I like old chevy's which were also "chunky". I just need to get more bits for my bit's box and some non-spawn related ideas . Wonder how a 7" power armor would look with a barbie head...
  21. spiders... most poisonous spider in the world is the north american daddy long legs. It's also never killed a man as it's fangs are to small to pierce the skin. Well, maybe it has killed but somebody would have to be pretty stupid to be rubbing spiders in an open wound It thought this was about ants though. Listenin to you guys I realize I watched way to much tv as a kid. Them has been mentioned. Empire of the ants has been as well, though it was not radio-active sugar that made them big, it was dumped radioactive waste that made them take over a conviniently placed sugar plant. "it came from the desert" anyone??? Nothing like going into a giant ant hill armed with flame throwers. I know I saw at least two other "B-film"s about ant's, though the names escape me... perhaps due to a poor memory or perhaps because they weren't worth remembering. Giant ants also made appearences in a lot of different movies that weren't about only ants. I know they battled a giant crab and I think they had to deal with some ants in whatever the clasic film about some civil war type folk in a hot air ballon drifting to a mesterious island where captain nemo is trying to repair his ship. Probably called "mysterious island" and possible written by vern, but don't quote me on either. I know hercules had to fight some in one of the hundreds of movies about him. I remember some really weird movie set it the heart of africa involving a sacrifice to a giant ant like insect... ant or a termite and done poorly so I couldn't distinguish when I saw it.
  22. Yeah, Thats an army allright. So who do ya plan on going to war against, 10 Glaugs would get um, destroid, hehe it's just way to funny you said that as my slow as connection was loading FYI... the army is original bandai/matchbox die-cast 1/144... just like the taka's. Far superior to the all plastic exo-squad ones. The sad part, besides the right most column of half-wits, is that every single gladiator is missing one hand?!?! I can't complain as I got them in a lot, but every friggin one?!?!?
  23. Not my entire collection for those who don't know about my insanity, just the 1/144 stuff I had in the living room when I decided to take pics at 3 in the morning. Many know about my jetfire fetish. As it was my first valk I can't help but love it. I know my obsessive nature and will allow myself no more than ten complete. Right now I am only at 7, though I have just a few partials that will either get repaired as I get parts or made into customs. How many know what my second favorite toy of all time is though?!?!? Again my limit is ten, though I have two boxed not in the picture, one that I will either fix the head gun or make a custom, and one worth of nothing else but being a spawn custom. So the question is... Got glaug?
  24. they store easy in tupperware as well
  25. 1/144 wasn't that hard. All of them but the one tomahawk I painted gunmetal up front are original die-cast no less Granted... the right most column is the abused destroid squad that can still walk SO what do you guys think...? Does this count as an army?
