Is there an online source for metric drill bits this size? I look up "metric drillbits" but get only full sets that are upwards of $20.

You could paint the part in-place after it hardens and everything else is in completed form, I suppose. That said, I wouldn't mind a replacement rigid one either.

*Spoilers* I was disappointed by the "gun" used to fire the headcrab casings/shells. I expected a really huge, awesome long-range gun, somewhat similar to the big guns used by the Nazis on rail cars. The massive gun could have been a level unto itself. Such a waste that all it turned out to be was an "elevator"....

Who Hollywood will choose in their infinite wisdom (*cough*): Director: Paul W.S. (Worse than Sh!t) Anderson or dare I say it, Uwe Boll. Lead: The Rock or some cheap 2nd tier actor, like Paul Walker. Box office: $40 million over three weeks, with an additional $10 million in DVD sales. Just enough to make a mild profit, in other words. /dies of cynicism

Thanks, I'll try this method. The canopy is seriously like gummy-canopy right now. I suppose I'll just fix the BP8 with some super-glued sheet styrene cut to shape.

Cap, Thanks for the great looking conversion kit. A couple problems/questions here though. 1) There's a missing "antennae/aeleron tab" on the BP8 part, looks like it was snapped off. (see picture) 2) Is the canopy supposed to be so gel-like and rubbery? It warps considerably at the slightest touch... Thanks, -Kurt

Late to the thread here, but damn, what a tremendously bad idea. Good game Hollywood! (*cough*). They should just film Predator 3, set in perhaps the "Aliens" Colonial Marines era. Make the story somewhat similar to the AVP original comic, only without the Aliens. They really screwed up AVP in my opinion. AND NEVER EVER TOUCH ALIENS. That movie is one of the greatest of all time. If anything, re-release it to theaters as the extended cut with a cleaned up print.

I'm interested in 2 recast pilots. My VF-1D project requires both, as the original 1/48 I'm working with is missing a pilot. I too am curious about fitting for the back seater in 1D.

Looks like early months of next year, perhaps Spring. The prototypes look nearly final already, so hopefully that indicates an accelerated schedule...sooner rather than later.

Saw it Friday night. Was fairly decent, but the early buzz had somewhat overhyped it - it was somewhat of a letdown after all that hype. By no means bad, and certainly much better than most scifi. I've seen and enjoyed most of the series, and the movie was sort of like a big TV movie version of the series. It's too bad that the show is basically over with, and that this movie will most likley be its last itteration. Pretty good performances all around, although I grew tired (and was already tired of) the River character and her doctor brother. The movie and show suffered I think from too many characters. The dialogue was top-notch, with double meaning in nearly every sentence "How's she holding up?", if only more scifi movies adhered to solid dialogue like this.

What's the latest word on this project? Is he/they going to give it a paint scheme, is it considered done, is it going in on tour, etc?

I think the same rule applies to just about any genre of entertainment. Most likely, only about 5 percent (or less) of any genre is going to be good quality. The rest will be terrible and only contribute to poor image stereotype problems. i.e. comics, science fiction, action movies, etc. That said, I agree with most in this thread, that the massive majority of anime is crap. Whether its a lost in translation thing or just general Japanese wierdness, there's a great deal that I just don't "get", and its turned me off to anime in general. It takes a lot to get me to watch anything nowadays. Only after frequent stellar reviews and good word of mouth will I even consider wasting my time.
