  1. I'll check them out, thanks. Forgot to add 1000 Homo DJs to the list and of course Pigface. I made a custom "Supernaut" bumper sticker out of a Soundgarden: Superunknown sticker.
  2. Skinny Puppy Front Line Assembly Velvet Acid Christ Ministry Leather Strip Favorite song of all time: "Assimilate 12" version" - Skinny Puppy
  3. Can't wait for this project! I've got a 1/48 DYRL max just waiting for this. Already thinking about new/different VF-1D paint schemes...
  4. Just get renter's or homeowner's property insurance. Videotape and document your collection along with your other valuables. Send your insurance agent a copy and keep a copy offsite at work or a safe-deposit box. With this kind of detailed documentation, it would be hard for the insurance company to deny you compensation if your collection were to be destroyed by fire, etc. (shudder). EDIT: A typical policy will run you about $200 for a year of coverage.
  5. Say, it's another Agent ONE ego-fest thread, what a surprise. See DSM-IV - 301.81 Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I'm thinking compensatory. Summary: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_...nality_disorder
  6. I recently acquired one of these Shadow Alphas, and here's my quick review: 1. What a piece of crap. Part of me just died. The arms don't lock in place properly, and in fighter mode it bows upward. Landing gear hovers while the chest balances the figure. Fine craftsmanship there folks. There's better QA/QC for a 25-cent Homies coin-op figure. 2. The proportions in fighter mode look goofy, the entire nose assembly makes baby jesus cry and seek therapy, where he is then advised to take a series of antidepressants and attend a group retreat program in Mendocino. 3. The cowling on the special Shadow rifle fell off immediately. It was as though the figure were crumbling before my eyes. Superglue took the place of the tackless snot Toynami used (the fumes did nothing to improve the appearance of the figure). 4. Paint inconsistencies Ahoy! 5. Back in the box and hidden from view, I shall stare into the abyss no longer, for the abyss stares back at me!
  7. Careful of this Vastus guy (was eenawes or something). I had sort of a sketchy experience regarding a couple 1/55s he sold me. He had a number of excuses and not the best communication at the time. He semi-made up for a shipment-gone-wrong, so I cautiously added him to the straight shooters list. The way he asks for a handout and then immediately gets defensive and angry tells me his story may be suspect. If not, then I wish him the best and hope aid agencies are able to assist him in the long run.
  8. That and lots of ramps and repeating architecture. I imagine several scenes in the movie: "Weren't we just in this room?".
  9. I cut out the middle man and removed the entire "veritech" (sold my MPCs in disgust). But seriously, this reminds me to remove the batteries from my Patlabor MG lights-conversion. Unless its' melted to slag already!!!
  10. That black um...paint scheme looks fingerprint-alicous. Did he roll it in dust while it was still wet? I almost want to bid out of pity, but that would just encourage him. Jesus. I mean...Jesus. Part of me just died.
  11. Jiminy Cripes in a Canoe, that paint job makes baby Kawamori cry!
  12. I too recommend the fast packs along with your first 1/48. Also, a display case or a cool stand (like the flexi-display stand or the Yamato launch arm).
  13. Myth: The entire Macross 7 series sucked a mountain of ass. Fact: The myth is true.
  14. Quoted for truth. I hope they avoid this trend as well.
  15. What I'm looking for is specific to the VF-1 and something somewhat "different", but not so different as to be completely unrealistic. I painted a 1/48 Enigma (see custom toys section) and own a Low-Vis, so as much as I like the gray paint scheme, I'd like to try something new. Yes, I know there's a paint scheme thread under fan works, and there's lots of VF-1 paint variants there that look great. One scheme I'm thinking of is a variation on the VF-0B box art (red-oraange and white TEST model). Not sure if I'll include fast packs on this one. Thanks in advance for your input.
  16. Thanks for the overviews/answers, I appreciate your synopses, rather than refering me to Google. I haven't seen the mini series, just this season and last season - so it sounds like I missed some of the backstory I'm wondering about. Also sounds like its been intentionally left vague, and that answers are forthcoming or hinted at...all fine with me really...I just wondered if there were definitive timeline answers. Thanks again. Can't wait for this Friday's episode!
  17. The new show is 12 kinds of awesome, but I'm having trouble with the backstory. Is there a site somewhere with more information regarding backstory for BSG? I assume they're far in the future, post-extrasolar planet colonization, and earth is so long in the past its more legend than history? Is our history part of theirs? Or are they like the DYRL storyline, where earth was once advanced, then reverted to stone age when the people of BSG left? Is there an approximate year that BSG events take place?
  18. Boy you sure got me pegged BSU. But by all means, take it personally and try to pick yet another fight, only to mask it with the aire of "oh, my post wasn't directed at you, you're the one getting upset". Maybe it would be best if you ignored my posts entirely since my opinion doesn't line up with yours? Sorry you managed to miss the point of my post: That I consider Lucas capable, and that that is a quality that presumably you and I share. Consensus! Gasp! As I've already said, I expect nothing less than LOL-arific thinly-veiled insult posts with their inevitable funnay intarnet pictars attached, so by all means continue with the awesome comedy - it seriously doesn't bother me as much as my opinions appear to bother you, nurturing your "distaste". - Sure thing. I'll call you "'Leg", it will make it sound like we're in a buddy cop movie.
  19. I was never a fan of the comical ACGUY, but the Master Grade version above does look pretty good!
  20. Hadn't really thought about CG animation, but I'll bet you're right. Hopefully at least Pixar will remain profitable (and decent?) enough not to succumb to this trend. I suppose its the inevitability of globalization. Companies will continue to seek cheaper labor in the name of competition and profit at the expense, or perhaps benefit, of the home country. Where that leaves the hopes and dreams of prospective american animators is anybody's guess.
  21. Hopefully the overseas stuff will be pre-prequel quality (heh). Still haven't seen Episode III yet. So much for the "fanboys (sic) will be first in line" theory. Before the fragile egos of Lucas apologists get their collective panties wadded up in futile insult-spewing rage, understand that, like yourself, I also consider Lucas capable of making cinematic greatness. Who am I kidding, this is the internet, so by all means rage away and post your usual "lol"-atry and "teh funny" pics to sustain your self-aggrandized opinions. Note: Not aimed at EXO by the way! I'm optimistic about new stuff from the Lucas camp.
  22. Hiring overseas to keep it cheap? I think it's domestic animators who will feel raped.
  23. This doesn't look too bad. Looking forward to seeing some Legions/Tread action again. Does anybody have a clear picture of the "armored" version yet? Hopefully this re-launched "continuation" won't end up in the burn pile like its horrific predecessor "The Sentinels" did.
  24. A compact, high quality box would be great. I'd pay good money for custom-made boxes in the style of say..ahem...the robotech masterpiece "books" (only much better and with less Tommy Yune artwork). But this is Yamato, so the flimsy cardboard gigantism will continue.
  25. Typically the re-releases have the nosecone stabilization fix (i.e. the tabs that make it so the nosecone doesn't fall off when a moth coughs in Wisconsin). The boxes don't have the paper-ripping velcro tabs on the lids anymore. The wing flaps are a little more stable as well (i.e. see moth comment above). Also, minor issues like crooked pilot seats and paint issues appear to be better than before. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I think this covers the big differences.
