  1. The take on that is really just that the older ones came in nicer boxes and are hotter collectibles, the reissues had more painted on detail rather than hastily applied stickers. If you're shopping for a 1/55 and you don't care about it being exactly the toy you had as a kid, it's much smarter to go with a reissue. It will cost you less and it will most likely be in much better condition. I believe someone said that "1/48 scale" is said during the commercial.
  2. I'll be doing a full photo dump later tonight. I got some great hi-res photos of this statue and the 1/72 CW VF-1.
  3. Arcadia already said a 1/48 V2 was cost prohibitive and, seeing at what they've been doing, it seems a 1/60 V3 was also cost prohibitive. It's going to be very interesting to hear the price on this thing... if it's close to existing DX prices than Arcadia is going to have a hard time justifying a lot of 1/60 V2 releases. They gotta tell us the price soon right?
  4. Looks pretty standard to me.
  5. While it may use that system, it does make one wonder how the nosecone can look so short while the head is simultaneously in the correct lower position, like there must be a gimmick just behind the pilot's seat allowing some of the mass there to move out of the way as the head swings up to avoid the Yamato V2 priest collar.
  6. I wonder if the feet can extend for additional articulation.
  7. I hope it has the twist at the gerwalk joint, that has been a clever addition. We need a full spread soon!
  8. I talked to a sideshow guy, that is an early mock up and they expect to make minor revisions, like to the hair.

    Bandai DX VF-31

Queue hlj's 'don't do business with us any more' email in 5...4...3... Speaking of which, where is my email from hlj?
  10. I'm sorry, I was referring to the super/strike parts.
  11. It's possible they would release separate tv and dyrl versions and that the TV version wouldn't have the gun just like Yamato did. So far they haven't seemed to acknowledge that there's a difference between the two.
  12. So amiami says their delivery of ET red Legioss toys was destroyed and they're waiting on a restock. I have a bad feeling about this.
  13. Super and strike parts will come together of course, it's just a gun, but take $50 off all these prices and you would have exactly what Yamato did. $150 for valk, like $75 for super, almost $150 for GBP and then you had to shop monster boxes. Expecting a similar experience with slightly inflated prices seems wise.
  14. Until what?
  15. This may have sucked a lot of wind from any Arcadia Wonderfest announcements, especially if this costs less than a PF V2
  16. Agreed... Could be tough!
  17. No, because they care about size, not scale.
  18. If they can fit a 1/48 in a dx size box, that would be fantastic. I sold my Yammies because I couldn't store them! All except Hikaru and Roy that is.
  19. It's the same size as a dx, and since the VF1 is a small plane, that makes it 1/48. Not saying it's a good decision but Bandai thinks in terms of how big the item is in your hands first.
  20. Wow, that's a lot more invasive than I expected.
  21. That's a great price on a 19F, excellent find!

    Hi-Metal R

Is there a Tamashii nations event in Japan every October? It would seem like that would be a good time to make a big Macross splash again.
  23. One potential nitpick, those vert stabs look a bit big.
  24. If you just wanted to keep it in bike mode you could do a bit of gluing and probably remove the offensive kibble and it should look like a pretty good facsimile. Same with slave mode. If you did some gluing and abandoned the transformation of the toy it would work out pretty nice.
  25. Feels like a McDonald's in this thread 'cause I'm lovin' it.
