dunno about those pics you linked, man, but the pics found at the site below are verifiable and under major research-study/investigation, and Earth-side. It's just off the sea of Japan: http://www.cyberspaceorbit.com/phikent/japan/japan.html behold! it's the Protoculture-City ruins!!! just like in dyrl. -

anybody else weirded out by these coincidences? real: NASA lands and launch rovers on Mars. fiction: Macross lands on Mars and deploy units. (tv-ep) real: Euro-space agency landed the Huygen on Titan. fiction: Macross ambushed at Titan (dyrl) What's next on the coincidence-list? Protoculture city-ruins on earth? Just weird coincidences, I tell yah. -
ok. now it's working again.

Actually, yeah. Fwiw, my thoughts on the casting: Alba's more like Crystal than Sue Storm. But hey! it's Jessica Alba! Mr. Fantastic is a bit younger in the live-action than in the comics. Actually, he's perfect, except Jessica Alba is cast as his wife. That's just not frickin' fair! Johnny's supposed to be Sue's younger brother in the comics, but he looks beefier, older and has a crewcut in the live-action. He'll do good, however. Ben's a bit of an oddity. He's bricky and wear shorts in the comics as his trademark look. This live-action Thing is quite different and more like plastered than brick. But it's actually a good-enough approximation. But the uniforms r0x0r! it's blue/black. much better than the stale corny-blue of the comics.

interesting. What was the stinker in it?
-
seen it earlier. trailer looks mighty good. the trailer-music r0x. and Jessica Alba's uber-hot. without even trying. she should be the human-torch coz she's just sizzlin'. The Thing was kewl. He's wearing pants. Human Torch and Mr.Fantastic were just ok. Dr. Doom's seems to look badass.

Just browsing www.animenewsnetwork.com tonite and saw the reported lackluster box-office sales-figures of Appleseed movie here in the States. They mentioned Gits-2 did better last year. So I thought, man, what if DYRL is finally shown here in the States. What would the box-office figures gonna be? Will it do better or worse than Gits/Gits-2 and Appleseed? I don't know how Miyazaki's films did here, tho. I mean, many of us grew up with Macross (or even robotech) branding and have jobs and stuff now. And Macross is still such a namebrand among us old-geezers. We still buy it's toys, for $deity's sake. I'm just wondering if it'll do better or worse here assuming it can finally be shown in the movie-houses here in the States. What do you think?

First shots of Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux.

geezus. They made her look alot more like Motoko of the Gits-movie than Aeon herself. Charlize is a hottie, but her Aeon is just atrocious in those promo-pics. -
anybody got this, yet? Quattro's Rick Diaz (MG)

Most series had bad to average endings. Especially tv-series. But a few stands out with great endings. Maison Ikkoku -- the benchmark of all endings. Just Perfect. And it's old-school, too. Kimagure Orange Road movie -- None of that Shin-KOR poo. Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien -- excellent ending.

taken from AOD-forum: Shucks! I had hoped Shawne would've also stated HG's "license" as gone, too. We'll prolly see ADV as the next sub-licensee for SDF-TV, since HG and ADV are close.
-
Where did you read that? there could be other reasons for them discontinuing the set. Like what other reason? I see this as a similar thing that happened to ADV's recent Sailor-Moon license-expiration.
-
so Animeigo's (and HG's) license expired on SDF-Macross? interesting.
-
oh sh*t! hope these guys are non-brownlisted legits.
-
play on numbers. Macross Zero == zero physical SDF-Macross ship SDF-Macross TV/SDF-Macross:DYRL == one prominent SDF-1 Macross ship Macross Plus == SDF-Macross ship plus the YF-19 and the YF-21 Macross-7 == seventh-version SDF-class ship. non-canon Macross II == two or more SDF-class Macross ships.

I would definitely recommend that as well. It is coming out in 4 episode sets (I have the first 2 so far). It seems to be easy to find here in North America. Yup. Gits-SAC is a highly-recommended series. It's a no-nonsense/no-bs sci-fi cyberpunk action-thriller series. It's got non-"traditional" mechas, but it's all good. Just try to avoid the region-1 SE-versions as there were production-issues, as Bandai fscked vol-1's japanese-dts, fscked the OST1+, switched the dts/dd-5.1 discs in vol-2, and fscked the english-dts on vol-3. Fwiw, an even better one is the current season-2 (2nd Gig) and hopefully it'll come out soon in R1:
