  1. uhmm, you should read the Azimov books/novels, then. There's enough situational, atmosphere and environment background-stuff in Azimov's books to get presented with what they're doing with this I, Robot movie.
  2. need to update mine: 1/60's == 12 [*] two Hik-1A [*] two Max-1A [*] two CF-1A [*] two Strike-1S [*] two Hik-1J [*] one Milia-1J [*] one Max-1J 1/48 == 2 [*] one Hik-1A (fp) [*] one Hik-1S (fp) Yamato-total == 14 1/72 == none. Waiting for the 1/72 YF-19. Also waiting for a good sale on the VF-11B and the YF-22.
  3. Was just glossing thru some fanpages of the 1/48(?) Aestivalis HG bandai-models and I thought it would be kewl if Yamato-toys expands to Nadesico. It will rock! The Aesti's are kewl modular mechas and should just be good as a Yamato-product.
  4. Fumoffu is one of those shows that needed some understaning of the Japanese culture to fully understand the funny parts/jokes. huh? which Fumoffu-parts are you talking about that needs some japanese-culture stuff?
  5. Fumoffu. Tessa vs Kaname. With Sagara caught in between. Priceless. Nuff said. Well, Tessa's more than enough. Tessa's and Sagara's respective "behaviour" when Tessa was around were just priceless. Better acting than when he's with Kaname. I want more Fumoffu and more Tessa! oh, yeah, btw. The music/songs on Fomuffu was also better.
  6. Yup. It's called Fumoffu. It's way better than the first tv-series.

    i dunno, guys. this one's looking more and more like a $50 toy/model instead of a $100+ toy/model. I guess I'm passing on this one. For now. I just don't think it's worth it at it's current price-point.

    Q-Rau

    anybody actually has one, yet? Please post an actual size-comparo with the VF-1s (1/60 and 1/48). with the Miria figure out of the Q-Rau.
  10. Iirc, I think she's actually from the Carolinas, instead of ADV's Texas-hq.
  11. I must add to the naysayers... that VF-0S prototype is fugly.
  12. Probably on most. But at least on the MS-08th Team, the Gundam-pilots were all skilled, iirc. The only bumbling unskilled one in the team was Michel, but he wasn't assigned a Gundam or GM unit. hmm. Just wondering. When did they start referring it as AU instead of AC? but yeah, on prolly all of the non-UC series, every pilot's well-trained by the time they're 15yo or something, to skillfully operate a high-tech Gundam and they never ran out of sponsors. Quite funny process.
  13. So, we're having fun over there at AoD-forums (english-dub forum) and I managed to sorta talk an interested up-and-coming new ADV voice-actress/fan (Lauren Goodnight) into singing a DYRL song. She's a Macross-DYRL fan, too. She couldn't find an mp3 of the Ai Oboete Imasuka song, but she have the MBIAP song, so we decided to give it a go and here's her thread about it including the location of her rendition of MBIAP: http://forums.animeondvd.com/showflat.php?...o=&fpart=1&vc=1 It's quite tolerable and actually a rather good rendition. She didn't mimic Mari Ijima's high-pitchness, but it was ok enough. At least it's not Robotech and it's way better than Robotech's. IIRC, it's the first time an english voice-actress sang an actual Minmay song, imho. So, just an fyi.
  14. hmm I looked for it on CDJapan... its not listed... anywhere else with good prices? you didn't look enough. http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=VICL-40031 $67 + $10 shipping. animenation.com used to list it before, but i guess they're out of stock like the rest.
  15. I dunno. imo, Hikaru was alot more emotional in DYRL than in TV wrt to Minmay and the whole love-triangle. Talk about getting caught between a rock and a hard place. One of the most memorable DYRL-scenes: the break-up of the triangle. The whole sequence was just really damn good. And the fact that it's done in a mecha-anime, not a drama-anime. sweet. edit: wait. you watched the Kiseki/BestFilms-dubs??? my gawd, man! get with the program and listen to the originals (boots or pioneer-imports)!
  16. that's pretty much the case across most retail-stores (target, walmart, etc, etc). I think (i'm not sure, tho) that only TRU still have some non-G-Gundam/non-SD stuff stocks.
  17. I didn't want to judge people on who's a "real fan" or not. Maybe I should rephrase it. Probably "hardcore fans" ? Again, I take Star Wars 1&2 as an example. We all know how crap the shows are. SW Fans know how crap it was. But its probably the hardcore fans who stood by it, just because its Star Wars. Regular fans who loved the old triology were disappointed with 1&2 and how different it was from 4,5,6. I apply the same situation here in Macross SDF right up to Macross 7. I seem to be the former in regards to Macross 7. I just loved Macross and was more willing to love anything Macross, even 7. Sure I was kinda disappointed at 1st, and then I tried to love it. And you know what, eventually I did. BOMBAH!!! errr, no. Most of the people here in MW-forum are hard-core fans. and most of us, iirc, still don't like M7. Duke Togo used to have a poll stuff showing how MW-members (old-board and new-board) felt about M7 or something. Check with him, I guess.
  18. nope, they were good, borderline great, now the dub for Mac 2 sucked Great how? The bad script changes? Myung being whiney? Isamu being more cocky than cool? How was the dub good? I don't know where there's a change in the script that really majorly affects anything. The english-Myung did not come across as whiney. I don't know where you got that impression. The japanese-Myung had the better-sounding vocals, but the emotions conveyed are practically the same levels between them. The english-Isamu has the same cockiness-level as the japanese-Isamu. The english-Milliard had the same stoicity as the japanese-Millard. He was actually more "black" than the japanese-Millard since Beau/John Billingslea is actually a black dude. The english-Guld was the same as the japanese-Guld. Menacing and hiding a troubled past. The english-Lucy was a little ditzier and more feminine than Megumi's, but Megumi's a tall order to even make a fair comparison. Since there was no English-dubs in the movie where Lucy had more real acting lines, it'll be incomplete to do any voice-acting comparison. The english-Sharon was alot more menacing and had more dread than the japanese-Sharon. Much more exciting to listen to than the japanese-sharon. The english-Marj (Steve Blum/David Lucas) came across alot more conniving than the japanese-Marj. Of all the major characters Plus to complain about, it'll only be the english-Yang. Yang's english-vocals was really off due to the Yang's revealed character-age. The japanese-Yang really nailed the character good.
  19. it was cannon-fodder colors, iirc.
  20. no dings or yellowing and stuff? then yeah, that was a nice $150. wait. Why is the arm-decal in red-stripes instead of black?
