  1. Thanks WM i was searching for the pics of yours but couldnt find them. Mind if i copy them for use as a reference? I think the heavy panel lines and shading actually work for this subject. Do you have any in progress shots or shots of the pin setup to make the backpacks removeable?
  2. ill have to see what mine has when i get here. She just paid for it on saturday after about a year on the preorder list.
  3. My wife decided to suprise me again and ordered the 1/72 VF-2SS kit from hobyfan. I know this is a recast but am still wondering about the quality. Is it good, bad or ok?
  4. Blockade runner is done but i cant show the pics right now but i am working on something else that will get you guys drooling.
  5. Which printer are you looking to use? the one that uses the liquid resin thats cured by UV or the one that laser heats the plastic powder into the model?
  6. Thanks guys. For those who might get this model it will seem daunting at first but if you just sit down and study it while you build and it wll fall together. For my paint job i basecoated it in white, handpainted the red markings and then postshaded the panels on with Tamiya nato black. Since that color is more of a dark grey it doesnt seem as stark a contrast when put on. Some areas got misted with highly thinned nato black to tone it down a little. Then i applied a wash of artist oils Lamp black to the details. Once all these are on the model it will obtain the very light grey tone that the filming model has. Im using old photos of the model before its "cleaning" for the traveling ILM model display. I have pics of the restored version as well and the tone in the weathering is quite noticeably different. Also the model hasnt been dusted since its refurbishment. All in all this is a refereshing build of a very popular and often overlooked vehicle. This will recieve a highly visible display area in my house when i return to the US next year.
  7. Well im missing an engine piece but that should be on the way shortly But i have started painting the main fuselage. I have gotten as far as the postshading and paneling. Next up is the oil wash. This will bring the details out more. I will be painting the engines too its only missing oe exhaust nozzle and i made it the middle one so it can be added later but it will allow me to display it still
  8. That looks great. I would be hard pressed to do better.
  9. (twitch twitch DROOOLLLL twitch)
  10. The first Samurai Monkey contest is up. Come to the forums Join up and enter. There will be prizes. Rules and entry terms are posted in a public area of the forums.
  11. Its over 27 inches long and PM for the cost. Production will be switching to another person soon though. Grayson. Yes people are mastering alot of stuff but im still pissed that the Ebon Hawk that Boby did was a one off. He should have made a kit of that. I could see my shelf now, Ebon Hawk, Millennium Falcon, and Outrider. Right now the Blockade runner is perched on top of my TV. Im going to finish seam and bubble filling on it tonight.
  12. It would have to be the new hope one since the Jedi version also had windows added to the armored spine area. The filming model has since been redressed back to the ANH standards. Also the Jedi version was red and white as well its just lighting and film exposure at the time that gave the red a orange hint.
  13. I wish i had the SV-51 with me now. I could do a flyover on launch day.
  14. SWEET ZOMBIE JESUS!
  15. It has to be one of the best resin/money kits out there. Every detail is comparable to the studio model. I will start painting it this weekend. It will take a while on this one though. Lots of scratches, and wear to replicate. I doubt fine molds will do one.
  16. Have any of you guys doing the renders ever thought of exporting the files through a 3D printer? There are companies that can do it pretty cheap.
  17. Nah a rival Squadron in the VF-11 would be good. You could have the VF-4 unit outfly them by dumb luck. Kind of like the F-18 that was able to get the drop on the F-22 in a exercise.
  18. Real intake trunks are white to aid in intake inspections after flight. Dirt, Debris, or say Bird guts will be more readily visible. For the model though grey will be fine to use.
  19. I found something bigger than the monster
  20. Dark grey would be fine although real intake trunks are white. Grey would work better for the aircraft.
  21. He is senior producer.
  22. Who knows. Maybe after this Hase will do destroids.
  23. Luke is someone on the RC group forums doing a SV-51 as well? I did a google search for SV-51 and got some pics from RC groups that were not your airframe.
  24. I looked at the 2 hasegawa models and the ones on noras seem a little fatter almost like what you have on the airframe. I could just be seeing things. Ill have to check the vid when i get home.
  25. You know i never noticed how much more prominent the bumps on the fuselage in front of the engine housings were on Noras SV. The ones on Ivanovs blend a little more. Im talking about the 2 pieces that run parallel to the cockpit housing.
