  1. Mech- the aves is a little softer than miliput and sands easier but it is very strong. The 3 barreled turret has bounced off my desk 3 times with no damage or seperations. Luke- thats why its called the OCTO tank, it has more guns than an octopus has arms. I havnt even added ALL the guns yet
  2. Well i scared the guy at the RC hobby shop. I told him about the airframe and showed him the flight control videos and the cobra video. He said that he would never try to fly something like this. He thought he couldnt handle it. Funny thing is that he is an experienced RC helo and stunt plane flyer.
  3. Any updates John?
  4. You get the cookie The green stuff is actually green florist foam. Then i overlayed it with white glue to stiffen it and aves apoxie paste to give it the final shell.
  5. I also found a new use for old tamiya paint caps. Once i finish the main hull construction ill have to give my attention to making all the track links.
  6. Those dimples are an actual detail on the VF-0. They represent the hardpoint mount for the weapons carried on it in episode 5. They are present on both the fighter and battroid kits by hasegawa as well.
  7. Thanks again for the chassis to make it rob.
  8. Nice work on that Republic destroyer. Heres something that i have been working on for a while. Slowly but surely. Name tha anime and win a virtual cookie.
  9. Max 1J didnt appear in the show.
  10. theres 2 sounds im looking for myself. The sound of the monster walking from M0 and the sound of the VF-11 battroid walking in M+ OVA.
  11. M&M get in the VF22s again in the fleet of the strongest women. Gamlin also has a VF22 in Dynamite 7.
  12. Thats the sad thing. The destroids got the short end of the stick in the animation. The best destroid episode is Bye Bye Mars. DYRL? has a couple good shots. but overall yu would have to watch the entire series to get the same amount of destroid goodness as 1 episode of Valks.
  13. As far as models id say go on ebay and get some of the 1/100 ones. they seem the most common. All the smaller destroids were produced in 1/72 scale by imai or arii but are next to impossible to find. The defender is the most cmmon out of these. I think we may see a resurgance of 1/72 destroid kits in the next year or so. The macross itself crashed in 1999 in the story line and Space war one took place in 2010-2012 respectively. Any earth based diorama would look fine using current generation vehicles mixed in.
  14. AKA the Destroid Tomahawk.
  15. Its got to be more than 250 rds. A f-16 or F-15 can hold 500+ rounds in a drum smaller than me. And thats 20 mm. An A-10 can hold even more but the drum is huge on it.
  16. Sounds good. I think the hasegawa model even makes that as a seperate piece. The Clip for the ammo is the upper part that goes between the legs.
  17. Well seeing how Macross takes place in this decade, hummers and other modern vehicles would be acceptable. Maybe some of the more unusual german modern wheeled vehicles.
  18. Well seeing how RARE this airframe is it will be handled with kid gloves at all times. The only time it will be put through its paces is in the air. I have noticed RC aircraft tend to aim toward the hadrest, nastiest and most damaging surface when control is lost. For this reason i will be scouting areas really well before i fly and making sure to stay away from possibly damaging surfaces. The more bad variables that are removed means i can concentrat on the joy that will be flying this.
  19. John can master the parts almost faster than i can build them. It is inspiring to see his work develop.
  20. Other armor is welcome here DG. I personally do 1/35, 1/16 and 1/9 armor too. If i do make a base for the kit i may have it standing on the remains of a T-72 or T-90 crushed into the ground. Well anyone else working on theirs feel free to use this thread to present it i did mean for this to be a communal DESTROID thread. Next Destroid to be covered will be the new Phalanx once its creation is complete. BTW anyone have line art of the M0 monster i cant find the pics using the search function and i need to fill some info gaps on the hands.
  21. Id highlight all the panels in a slightly lighter grey , and give some parts a kind of symmetrical cntrast with another fitting color just to give it a little life. Think of how the MK1 monster looked at the end of Macross zero.
  22. First and foremost wear some kind of breathing mask when sanding and grinding the excess resin, i had areas on the heel of the foot that needed dremel attention and general overall seam filling. Im still getting the dust off my shelves from this thing. So far from building it and reading the posts that mike has made the pitfalls are covered. Be sure to use good pins in the joints and test fit everything. I added a couple little things i wanted on it. I didnt like the hollow missile tubes on the arms so i made weather plugs for it. Be careful of the hips. once the ball and socket are painted the fit becomes quite tight. If you plan on leaving the hips mobile be careful you dont scissor a finger in there, the weight of the kit does have the potential of snapping a finger. All in all though the kit literally falls together. I built mine without instructions. I made mine so i can disassemble it for transport so my cannons, arms and legs are removeable. Just take the kit one part and one step at a time. One thing i recommend is to use bondo on the major seams since it will stick better and sand easier. It helps in keeping the shape sharp.
  23. Sounds good to me. Now i just need to find some fine point tech pens for panel lines and rivet dots. Seeing how iit wont fly for at least a year. The weather here has turned crap again and where i go in the states may snow in the winter. Plus after seeing the cobra video i want to get even more trainer time in. But again there is now no flytime. The winds here are high and it is beginning to rain regularly.
  24. Actually white would be better so i dont have to get the yellow as thick on it. Im putting the yellow down first then masking off the stripes and applying the magenta. The magenta should be dark enough to cover the yellow in a thin spray.
  25. Why not make banners for the Garage kits, and custom toy parts that are swimming around on here.
