This completely ignores the fact that the general's anger WAS NOT JUSTIFIED WHEN DIRECTED AT AMERCIAN CITIZENS OF JAPANESE DESCENT. Did you see generals back then calling German Americans and Italian Americans racial slurs and rounding them up in camps? I think not, hence the bitterness of Japanese Americans towards the policies of the time of BOTH THE US AND JAPANESE GOVERNMENT. A lot of Japanese Americans fought and died in Europe for the US to prove their loyalty to America so I think you should be able to understand why Japanese Americans take offense when they get called slur words. I hate it when people make things like this a freedom of speech issue. It has nothing to do with freedom of speech. It has to do with politeness and common courtesy. No one is saying certain things should be banned. People have the freedom to say whatever they want. People have the freedom to be a$$holes if they want. But if someone's gonna be an a$$hole, they have to realize that they're probably gonna piss a lot of people off, and they'd better be willing to deal with the ramifications of that. Rappers have the right to say n---- this n---- that as much as they want to, but there is a lot of negativity that comes with that, and those rappers should realize the ramifications of what they do and take responsibility for it. People have the freedom to do a lot of socially irresponsible things, but should they? It's like someone named Daniel being preferred not to be called Danny, but you call him Danny anyway. You have the freedom to do that, but is Daniel gonna like you? Probably not. And if you say something about freedom of speech to Daniel he's probably not gonna care.

klan klan is the commanding officer of pixie squadron. pixie squadron obviously is not part of skull squadron if it has it's own name. and klan, despite looking like a kid, has the rank of captain. and who we see at the president's meeting is completely irrelevant. no we don't see klan at the president's meeting, but we don't see ozma either, and ozma is the commanding officer of skull squadron. in japanese, when the captain asks ozma if he wants to wager, this is how ozma responds: "uchi no team ni gojyuu." this clearly translates to "50 on our team." this obviously means that pixie squadron is not ozma's team. ozma's team is skull squadron. edit: well i didn't remember seeing ozma there anyway but i guess he was there? regardless, that is easily explained by ozma's superior rank. they prob. didn't need all of the different team leaders present in the meeting just the highest ranking one.

here's a theory that explains for that, although it doesn't explain everything. brera's vf-27 and his mission is obviously top secret. leon was very concerned that no further leaks about the vf-27 would occur. klan ends up finding the nest and brera before brera can destroy it, thus brera attempts to destroy klan and alto because they have seen his valk, in an attempt to cover up the existence of the vf-27. of course, that doesn't explain why brera didn't immediately kill alto and luca in the vajra ship.

i totally also think the civil war conspiracy theory is likely, as well as the theory that the vajra are a galaxy experiment gone wrong. my guess is that grace and the galaxy fleet were merely using sheryl as a method to get on board frontier when they did. the galaxy fleet is still missing, it could be that they sent in dulphim and kaitos as decoys. and who ever it was that ordered purple 1 to prevent sms from obtaining samples from the vajra hive ordered him like so "purple 1, prevent the obtaining of samples by destroying the nest at alpha 1104." she makes it sound like she and purple 1 know exactly where the hives are, perhaps because they created the hives themselves. pure speculation on my part, but it seems likely. i still cannot figure out whether leon is in on the conspiracy or not. he is at least aware of the vf-27 as he obviously tried to cover up the leak in the previous episode. but why would he urge the president to find the vajra hive and obtain samples, only to order the vf-27 to destroy the hive and prevent the obtaining of samples? is leon part of the galaxy vf-27 side or isn't he? and where does bilrer and sms fit into all of this? i get the feeling that galaxy are experimenting with the vajra with the desire to develop new technology, and for some reason they are being antagonistic towards frontier. just the feeling i get from watching grace, brera and the vf-27.

listen regardless of whether it's true or not i take offense to all this jap name calling. you guys do know that's considered a racial slur, right?

argghh maybe i heard it wrong then. it could have been "oteyawaraka ni tanomu."

hmmm.. on second thought, it could have been "kochira darufimu. kochira kara yoroshiku tanomu." which essentially means the same thing.

*sigh* rather than saying "yasashiku shite", i believe they said "kochira kara onegaishimasu." which means, "please do" or "we request that you do." therefore, the dialog goes like this: kanaria: "dulphim!! this is rabbit 1. i'm going to borrow your hull." dulphim: "dulphim to rabbit 1. by all means, we request that you do."

here's a little help for the translators out there. i'm pretty sure that no one said "yasashiku shite" in the scene where the monster lands on the dulfim. it sounded like "kochira kara onegaishimasu" to me. "mina~!! bunka shiteru!!?" is a reference to the original macross TV. in the original macross TV series, some zentradi incorrectly referred to bunka, or culture, as a verb. example: kamjin to laplamiz "let's do some more culture later." so sheryl's comment can be translated as "everone~!! are you culturing!!?" it's probably a slang term that originated from zentradis experiencing culture shock when they integrated with human society.

wow i never knew that was a part of vf-x2. how do those things fit in to the story of vf-x2? are they purple? here's a more proper translation: super dimensional resonance crystal crystals discovered in 2043. applying a vibration of a certain wavelength to it causes a dimensional resonance phenomenon. it is said to make possible next generation communication and super dimensional navigation technology. lol not too different from the babel fish translation, but if this is the case it lends credence to the theory that the earrings and the fold reactor are made of the same material. perhaps that means bilrer was using his ring to "watch" the battle unfold.
