  1. just in case, all of the following was translated from the article and not speculation on my part.
  2. r u guys seriously expecting something out of patrick? wasn't it obvious from the start that his sole reason for existence was comic relief? i wouldn't want him to start developing into an actual real character. kill him off and don't bring him back.
  3. read all the text but there's really not a lot of new info. a lot of it was written to make it sound like it was speculation. please don't make me translate it all, as there really isn't that much that's new. new things that i noticed: vf-25 dimensions in fighter mode: length 18.72m width (with wings fully extended) 15.5m height (not including landing gear?) 4.03m my bad if this is not new info. vf-25 battroid: height including lasers: 15.59m armored vf-25 is just as fast as standard vf-25, but substantially slower than vf-25 fp (as seen when gilliam out ran ozma back to the dome). the yf-19 and yf-21 reached a certain limit where they couldn't go any faster or risk endangering the pilot (guld in mac plus). however, the vf-25 is even faster, which must mean that some new technology exists to make this possible. it is also safe to assume that there are many other new and as yet unrevealed technologies (thanks for nothing mag). cathy glass is the president's daughter (sorry if that's not new news). the guy next to the president is leon mishima, an aide to the president. (sorry if that's not new) the show is a direct sequel happening 14 years after mac 7, but the magazine gives the possibility that the timeline for mac f may be retconned a little. this is because when making a new series, making it as entertaining as possible takes precedence over completely accurate continuity. (something fanboys will never understand) there are small vajiras and big vajiras (that may be obvious when watching ep1). after watching the first ep, it appears that human kind may have already known for some time that the vajira exist, and that may have had a part in SMS coming to existence. (i don't need to read a mag to figure that out) VF-171 design changes from the VF-17 are for better atmospheric performance.
  4. actually, it says a lot more than that but you're right about the no news part. "heavy armor attachment system designed to expand weapons capability, designed for the VF-25. it has overcome the main weakness of the vf-1's armor system, which was limited to battroid mode. it is able to transform and fly with the armored parts still attached. further details unknown." vf-25 caption: "next generation variable fighter being developed to replace NUNS' VF-171. in keeping with all the previous series, it transforms into 3 different modes depending on the situation. weapons that can be confirmed include machine gun(s), beam cannons, machine gun lasers, and a newly designed gunpod. as it is a top secret unit under development, details are unknown. one of it's unique features is it's ability to link with a pilot wearing the ex-gear exoskeleton suit." ex-gear "reinforced exoskeleton powered suit that protects the pilot and increases his/her mobility range. it is capable of flight using its small jet engines and variable wings. it is possible to link up (pilot) with the VF-25 while still being worn, and can be used to eject from the vf-25 in emergencies." vf-171 caption: "heavy multi-role variable fighter based on the VF-17 (appeared in macross 7). it is the most commonly used manned variable fighter/bomber in 2059, and is the main fighter of NUNS in the frontier fleet." the caption with the vf-1d is just rerelease info for hasegawa model kits. the illustration with ataria island will be on the new packaging for the vf-1d rerelease.
  5. hmmm.. would yamato's konig monster prevent bandai from legally releasing their own konig? that would be a role reversal..
  6. translation: Hello, I'm sato4 of Bandai, here to update you on information concerning Macross F products. Well, they've already been announced at Wonderfestival, but Bandai will be releasing VF-25 valkyries from the following lines: 1/60 scale DX chogokin 1/72 scale plastic model kit 1/100 scale action figure Pricing and release date have yet to be announced for all of the above, but I will be updating this blog with info when it becomes available. Continuing on from the work that we've loved from 12,000 years ago (WTF?), Kawamori director has really taken care of us, but Kawamori is still the genius that he's always been. His latest VF-25 valkyrie is the best looking one yet! In order to completely reproduce the transformation and proportions, our staff are working hard so please look forward to the quality of the products. Of course, please look forward to non-valkyrie releases as well. Non-valk releases? With the lack of destroids or enemy "mecha," I can't really think of what they could be. Vajira action figures? Sheryl dolls?
  7. there's nothing in either page for me to translate that isn't already known. although the character chart showing the character's relationships to each other is pretty interesting.
  8. i dunno about angelic hierarchy names, that is too much gundam 00 for me. ishtar would be weird. naming it after a character from a parallel timeline.
  9. VF-25 werewolf VF-25 hiryu VF-25 hayabusa VF-25 toryu VF-25 reppu VF-25 tenrai VF-25 marauder VF-25 vanguard VF-25 skyknight VF-25 scimitar VF-25 bandit
  10. how bout hellcat III or tomcat II?
  11. owned!!! graham i know u own this site n all and i'm grateful for having u represent our wishes to yamato and i don't mean any disrespect, but seriously, this whole issue of discussing bandai's corporate attire is ridiculously off topic. aren't we all forgetting that kawamori started out as a huge gundam fan, and created a gundam fan club at his college with friends mikimoto and miyatake before eventually joining studio nue.
  12. the lego looks like an armored vf-25..
  13. woah there.. i also think it's possible that but part of that is a "lost in translation" thing. in order to understand what was going on in that conversation, you have to understand that there are probably over 20 different ways of saying "me" in japanese. in modern japanese, watashi, atashi, boku, and ore are some common ones. watashi is commonly feminine. men sometimes use watashi but only when trying to sound highly formal. atashi is almost exclusively female. ore is extreme masculine, and is usually used by characters that are strong willed and rough. it is the form of "me" used by all the gundam meisters, including tieria. however, in this scene, tieria uses "boku" instead of "ore." "boku" is male, but is usually used by little boys (i used to refer to myself as "boku" when i was a kid) and is not considered strong and masculine like "ore." it probably caught lockon off guard that tieria was using "boku" to refer to himself. also, in another key scene, when tieria exposes the nadleeh for the first time and is feeling really insecure about himself, he punches the cockpit and says "veda.. orewa.. bokuwa.. watashiwa.." translation "veda.. i.. (jacked up) i.. (jacked up) i.. (jacked up)" i interpret all this to mean this: nadles means having both the spirit of a man and woman in navajo. tieria is extremely arrogant and headstrong, and is usually very masculine. however, when he becomes insecure, his feminine side starts to come out. he apparently worships veda, and becomes insecure when he believes it has been hacked. here's some more speculation, do u guys think that neena has the glowy eyes as well?
  14. the two lengths mentioned in the article are Island 1 (15km) and City 7 (6km). altitude of the dome is 2000m. the article says nearly half of the 10 million residents of the macross frontier fleet reside in Island 1. the ground levels feature metro areas, hills, rivers, and oceans (duh). sky city is located on the ceiling of the dome while there are several levels underground with residential and storage space, gravity generators, propulsion systems, so on so on. the shell remains up normally but is closed during battles and folds.
  15. i told myself i'd never buy 1/60 destroids. i told myself, with so many 1/60 variable toys, why bother with non-variable toys at that price? then i saw the pics... damn... why did it have to look so good?
  16. wow same scale as the yammies in one of bandai's best toy lines. that is phenomenally good news for fans if bandai does a good job with the sculpt and qc, but terrible news for yamato. if i were a yamato employee i'd be seriously pissed at bandai for hijacking that scale. if the chogokin vf-25s are made well, that dooms hopes of yamato making a profit from any vf-25 toys of their own. well, whatever, if bandai does a good job i will be one happy customer.
  17. r u referring to the gn arms? oh well, whatever, i don't think i wanna hear anymore spoilers.
  18. GAAAAAHHHH!!!!!! IS THE WEATHERED 1/48 FOCKER WF EXCLUSIVE OR ISN'T IT!!!??? THIS IS KILLING ME!!!!!!!
  19. that would mean they would have to have the licenses to create said rare valks, correct?
