    Yamato 1/48 GBP Pic

Well, call me impatient but I was hoping the first releases of MZero stuff would be out while the series was still on going(like Hasegawa's models), and that we'd be getting to the second or third releases of the series by now. Plus, most people (at least on this forum) like the 0D way better than any of the other variants. People were getting impatient about hearing news of a 0D months ago. I know transforming toys take much longer than models and Yamato doesn't have a track record for being fast, but think about how long they've had since ep1. Crap, going way OT, guess I should be happy with the 1/48 GBP.

yo, the 0s hasn't been cancelled. graham was just wonderin' what the article said about it. however, rumors that mac 0 wasn't popular in japan and no news on a sv-51 or vf-0d is making me a little concerned. hopefully the 0a and 0s will sell well and convince yamato to go ahead with the rest of the m0 valks.
  3. gah!!! any Val Surfs in OC? don't wanna go up to LA during thanksgiving traffic!!!
  4. aww man!! VFA-103!? Super Hornet!? This is giving me culture shock!!

what he said. the only thing they say about the vf-0s is they introduced (or had an update on) the 1/100 project that yamato is working on in the last issue. as for the 1/48 GBP parts, it says that these will be released separately as were the fast packs, but that there is a set with a vf-1j included also being planned. it says price is yet to be determined and the tentative release date is spring '05. as far as the likelihood of this being released compared to the yf19fp, yeah this is only a line art drawing, but as far as I know, the yf19fp didn't even get any articles in japanese hobby magazines saying that it was coming, so i think this GBP set is a lot more likely to actually be released than the yf19. i'm pretty sure the only way we even knew that a yf19fp was in the works was because 1. the other mac plus fp valks were released and 2. because graham and noel told us about it. edit: funky grammar
  6. Osaka's great. love the Glico guy in the Hanshin Tigers uniform. GO HANSHIN!!

  9. Hi all, guy who never posts but visits these boards regularly (mostly just for news). To clarify, in the Japanese dialogue, Shin refers to the RHE shells as "hannou dan," which translates to thermonuclear shell in English. For those of you who aren't familiar with the language, in the first ep, when the engineer tells Focker that the thermonuclear engines aren't ready, he refers to them as "hannou engine." Hannou means thermonuclear (although it can mean other things if you use different kanji). At any rate, the dialogue didn't mention anything about reaction weaponry, but I haven't done my homework enough to know what reaction weaponry is. edit: gah! sorry, looks like I made a mistake. Please disregard what I wrote above. Anyway, the word for reaction in Japanese is pronounced "hannou." Shin uses this word to refer to the shells fired by the monster. In ep1, the mechanic also uses this word when talking about thermonuclear engines. This leads me to believe that "hannou" is also the Japanese word for thermonuclear, or a kind of military slang refering to something that is thermonuclear (instead of saying thermonuclear reaction engines, they say reaction engines, etc). I have no idea whether Macross is the only thing Japanese that uses this term this way or not, and I have no idea whether "reaction weaponry" is really an accurate translation, or if it is technologically different than regular nuclear weaponry. Any Japanese speakers who can shed some light?
  10. man... I got the bride too. and I was expecting James Bond.. don't say you wear puma track suits! got devito for the villain...
  11. What's up everyone, lurker here who doesn't post much. Commander, I'd say forget the experiment, take a long break from watching screens in general, then check out FLCL and Abenobashi Mahou Shotengai. Both weird, made by the same guy as Eva, but weird in a funny and entertaining kind of way.
  12. Hello all. Lurker here who hasn't posted since we were on the old forums. Just wanted to share with someone that, thanks to Kevin, I am a new 1/48 first-time owner and I must say the thing is AMAZING, detail, transformation, size, and price. I mean, wow, this thing really does not dissappoint at all, it really does look as good as the pics on the net!! eNeS, I have never owned an MPC so I wouldn't know about that but I can guarantee you, you WILL NOT be dissappointed if you purchase the 1/48. The FP Max and Miriya are all that's left at valk-exchange but man, the verniers on those fastpacks just look like buttah!! It will cost you an arm and two legs for the FP, but it is worth the price if you like valks!
