  1. wth now i get ridiculed? no i'm 26 actually and i don't see what that has to do with anything. the title specifically says "let's not use this as a thread to rant in." he added that because he doesn't want the thread locked. and now you and bob go ahead and do exactly what he said not to do with your "turd" comments. if you hate the 19 so much leave this thread alone and let it get back on topic. edit: hater=flamer flamer=someone who does not deserve to be posting on a forum
  2. you fail to see the point. you do not have a right to post rants here when the thread specifically forbids it in the title. b!thcing and whining does not make the situation any better. all it does is pour salt on the wound, which does nothing for anybody. this thread was started with the purpose of gaging the scope of a quality control issue on the 19 so we could have graham address the issue to yamato. it was created so we could get something constructive out of it, i.e. yamato looking into the issue, releasing improvements on later versions, possibly getting out replacement parts to areas not controlled by hard gay. however, all you do when you post here is b!tch and whine. what does that do besides annoy everyone, regardless of whether they agree with you or not? i'm not happy with yamato's QC either. in fact, all of their 1st issues have had problems, without fail. but just because i don't b!tch and whine like you makes me a "blind loyalist?" others have posted here that yamato has offered support for US buyers that bought some toy called the garland, i think that's proof enough that if hard gay wasn't around yamato would support it's macross buyers in the US as well. this is a thread created by yamato customers for yamato customers. yet, all you do is come on here and whine whine whine "yamato suck yamato suck" over and over again. that is the same as a robotech whore signing on to a macross forum for the sole purpose of flaming. and i'm cyde01, not clyde
  3. if you don't give a flying fvck don't post here hater. i'm not happy with the 19 either but it's far from a flying turd. it has one defective part and a gunpod that's crooked in fighter, but otherwise it's a great looking toy. the only problem is that it costs too much. and yamato would extend customer support to us if it wasn't for Hard Gay i mean harmony gay. if you like your TFs so much go post about your TFs in the kiddie forum. otherwise your point has already been taken and the rest is needless overkill.
  4. that's a relief. can't wait for your report on the meeting.
  5. looks like everyone's covered most of the fixes (gunpod, shoulders lying flat, etc). now on to the mods!! anyone care to share some how to's on beautifying the 19? ex: ball joint mods on the wrists, ankles, and neck without ruining transformation into fighter, green lava lamp that would go on top of Isamu's seat, etc. also, what paint color from what brand most closely mimics the tan plastic that yamato used for the 19? and what would be a good clear coat to use to achieve a semi-gloss/matte finish (something that would be durable enough to stay on a transformable toy)?
  6. Graham, while the stress marks are in a non-visible area, how could this be a minor problem? my stress marks seem to be steadily growing despite correct transformation. are you saying that the piece can be broken or removed and the yf-19 still be able to transform?
  7. yeah like hiryu said, at the end of that thread it is revealed that this in fact is a non-issue. so far it seems like there are more with stress marks than without. who here has a 19 with no stress marks?
  8. no that's wrong, actually. the landing gear were designed from the start to be able to be pushed out into the correct position. some people didn't know this because 1. the landing gear are stiff out of the box because of dry paint and 2. because they didn't take a look at the instructions.
  9. not another part to worry about. i really hope this is an isolated case.
  10. yeah, like i said, if yamato will send free replacement parts, i would get them. however, there are some things that complicate this matter: 1. i live in the US (Yamato USA apparently can't even get replacement parts to us because of Harmony Gay) 2. i didn't get my 19 from hlj. that means there's a slight chance that even if yamato offers free replacement parts i'll have to pay to get them or won't be able to get them at all. i agree with b of b that that would be the best for us but all his posts seem cynical towards yamato given his track record.
  11. like i said, if yamato decides to release replacement parts, i'll get them. b of b made his point 100+ posts ago. the rest is all just annoying overkill.
  12. shuddup you're just hatin now. if yamato decides to release replacement parts i'll get them. otherwise, plz someone recast the parts.
  13. great news. can't wait for a reissue 0S and a 0D.
  14. yo if someone is thinking of making hard resin recast of the problem parts i am down 100%. count me in as one of your prospective customers.
  15. mine has slight stress mark on the grey blocks, both sides. i received mine 12/28/06
  16. heeey that's the old 1/100 scale vf-0s prototype!! man i am glad they didn't go with that design!!!
  17. i don't think it's a ridiculous request. the toy doesn't need to be 100% metal. how hard is it to include small diecast parts in a couple of key areas that are prone to breaking? that's in fact what yamato has already been doing with past releases. i wish the grey plastic under the nose where everyone gets stress marks was made of diecast or some kind of metal. i think changing the material on such a small part would not affect the price of the toy at all.
  18. i have at one point in my life had 5 yamato valks and have had various problems with most of them, but overall i would say i'm pretty happy with yamato. i don't collect any other transforming toys so i have nothing to compare them to. 1 1/72 yf-19 1st ed. the tab b broke after the 3rd transformation. after that, a 4 year old kid snuck into my room and broke the vertical fin off, but that was 100% my parents' fault for allowing that kid into my room. 1 1/60 dyrl max vf-1a. gave me no problems 1 1/48 max super vf-1j. the rubber seal started leaking out after the 3rd or 4th transformation. it had almost completely leaked out after several more transformations but there were no signs that the hip socket was about to break. it just made the joint reeeeally loose. i was generally happy with it before it got stolen! 1 1/48 roy vf-1s. no issues, although it came in the box with one of the panels from the wings completely fallen off. didn't transform this one as much as the max but the rubber didn't seep out of the hips at all. this one also was stolen. 1 1/60 yf-19. there are slight stress marks on the grey plastic on the bottom of the nose, but i loosened the screws and have been transforming it a lot. i chipped the black paint behind the cockpit ever so slightly on one of the transformations but it is barely visible. took off the infamous piece of tape behind the head and it didn't take any paint off with it. so really it hasn't given me any problems so far, although i have the crooked gunpod in fighter mode just like everyone else. so yeah none of the vf-1s in both scales gave me too many issues so i would definitely recommend them, and i've been happy with the 19 so far, unlike some other members here.

    1/60 YF19 rant

that's a nice fix. man i wish the shoulders weren't glued together.
  20. i've been transforming mine correctly as far as i know and i just checked the grey parts yesterday and they do have stress marks.. ah well, loosening the screws helps doesn't it? i'm still pretty happy with mine, i've transformed it almost every other night and haven't had any problems. i used to have trouble transforming the nose like others have but that was because i was trying to do it wrong.
  21. maybe if it was higher res but i'm pretty sure it says summer 07. i myself am pretty happy with the 1st release 1/60 yf-19 so i will be sure to pick this one up when it comes out, if i have the money..
  22. From the article: Given that most peple I know don't watch the special features anyway, I doubt lack of HDi would be a deal breaker for that tiny part of the population actually considering the purchase of this $1,200 player. The only source that is claiming that a successor model with HDi compatibility is already in the works is you. And in your previous posts you hinted that that was only speculation on your part. I haven't seen anything else from other sources that back up your claim. Regardless, I'm not in the market for this product anyway. I'm gonna wait a lot longer than 3 months, probably a year, until enough movies that I like are released on either format and I am willing to buy an HDTV. Hopefully by then there will only be one format and no need for a combo player, although that is wishful thinking.
  23. nice so the landing gear is a complete non-issue at this point. i'll have to try this when i get back home.
