  1. Which do you like better? Do you think they should give us two detachable feet types like with the removable clown hands we got for the 1/48 TV valks, so that we can have both types?
  2. I like those rectangle thrusters. Which of the vf-1 have the circular ones and which of them have the rectangle ones?
  3. What about that zentradi power armor in macross plus? If you do that, it would be the type of toy people who aren't interested in non-transforming valkyrie toys would buy because this is something that I don't think is ever going to appear as a high end collectors item toy. My reasons for why I think it's a good idea: -The fact that it doesn't transform wouldn't worry anyone since it's power armor. Won't cut into savings for the transforming toys that yamato is making. -The fact that it relates to macross plus might be reason to get it. (like how people want a ghost booster or character models) -It's of something that hasn't been done before. (yamato made 1/72 macross plus valks already, then the 1/60 versions, now these non-transforming things. Fans like them and aren't ingrateful to be getting it, but they are getting jaded of seeing the same things) -It gives the good guy action figures something to fight and would work well in a "VS battle "display. (see the pics of the revoltech 19 vs 21 for an example that adds to the appeal when people can display the toys doing something from the show) Anyway that's what I'd like. I would also like to see a VF-1 so that the yf19 can have it in an arm lock as a hostage while it gets shot at. Maybe they can have paintball shots on the body to indicate that this is the macross plus vf-1 that got shot at from the anime not a "SDF:M" vf-1. Again adds to the appeal since nobody would buy something like that as a high end collector toys that costs lots of money. But as a cheap toy, they might consider a paintball paintscheme VF-1 because it reminds them of the anime. ..did I just say "Paintball paintscheme"? Things they could do to keep with the plus theme: rogue zentradi vf-1 hostage valk (plain) vf-1 hostage valk (repaint) zentradi power armor
  4. Might also be a good idea if say somebody made a youtube video of this transformation guide, with still pictures of each instruction, and the words on the bottom of the still pic. Then if you want to view this thing, you can watch the video on your monitor and pause it at each step. Much better since there is no unzipping of a file, opening up the page in a browser etc.. just go to youtube and watch it.
  5. http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?s=&a...st&p=487094 there ya go! may as well bookmark it! That guy has it permanently on his server. I tried previously to upload it to a free web host thing, but over time it's been deleted.
  6. I wish bandai would remake vf-1 toys instead of have the reissues of the old stuff. Why don't they want to upgrade the macross toys the same way hasbro has with G1 optimus prime in the form of a Masterpiece prime? I get the nostalgia fans of the old school stuff feel. People have this emotional feeling for vintage stuff and praise the historical significance of it all. Just that it would be so much cooler for a new bandai VF-1 that is brought to the international macross fan, than all this old stuff. But it's overall good news imo. Just that I'm still more a fan of the yamatos. I wonder what would happen if the "Robotech live action movie" thing ever starts to become real, and the VF-1 becomes more well-known, (to mainstream audience?) what this means for bandai and if it would be enough for them to try to make a new toy of it? What happens if there were, say, alpha fighters in the movie, would bandai be able to make a perfect transformation Legios for the live action robotech movie and then toynami just distributes that? I want a bandai Legioss and Tread. Man that'd be cool.
  7. Out of the three I like the vf-11 the most. So what's the story on fast packs? Will those be entirely seperate figures?
  8. I want sidecovers. What's going on graham? I will be willing to pay a little bit higher price for it. Helps the look of the robot mode.
  9. I get scared looking at the skeletons. They look like zombie robots.
  10. ..but do let us know how they treated you. And put the update in here so yamato/graham/yamato spies watching the boards etc can prove to BoB that the yamato-fan isn't a complete doormat!
  11. Just show them the breakage. It's due to a manufacturing defect (or just poor/crappy design) with the toy rather than people abusing it to cause it to break. So erm, yeah just email them with a picture showing the busted shoulder. The older releases have that problem but nowadays they have the newer arms that don't break which you can get from them.
  12. Got a question though: will the GBP be as chunky as the 1/48? This is the one thing about the GBP that made the already-tiny hands of the 1/48 look even more ridiculously tiny: The armor seemed fatter than the lineart. What chance do we have of seeing skinnier armor?
  13. Un spacy sticker in the pics on the previous page is the wrong way around. Should be right side up when the gunpod is sitting underneath in fighter mode. Hope the final version doesn't have that mistake!
  14. Why does everyone hate the yf-19 so much? It looks like the battroid lineart.
  15. Cool. Sounds like it includes improved stuff we saw in the mac zero toys and mac plus toys but cutting out gimmicks like flaps and airbrake. I wonder now about one thing: what are the joints going to be like? Will they feel clicky and stiff but not dangerously stiff that you risk snapping the plastic? Or just be loose and annoying to pose in robot mode? Fighter modes always lock together nice. I hope battroid mode can hold a pose when GBP comes out. 1/48 toys for me were good because they felt like the robot could hold the poses well which you can't always say happened with the 1/72 yf-21 or other previous stuff.
  16. Can someone list all the improvements this toy has over the old 1/48 just for the record?
  17. Looks good. Glad they decided to redo 1/60. I wonder if they'll be a gbp upgrade?
  18. Make the canopy parts swap. (1 that is open, 1 that is closed)
  19. http://toyboxdx.com/phorum/read.php?1,141178,page=4 scroll down to about half way down the page and read the problems with the shoulder. Email yamato usa, with a pic of the busted arm, and then they will send for the new arm for you. http://www.yamatotoysusa.com/ Let us know how it all went.
  20. Yeah but you can get the replacement shoulder/arm from yamato usa. @macrossman: Question: Was it the Red Garland? This is an old problem. Just ask them to send you a new arm due to the shoulder breaking off and you can get the improved arm which is stronger.
  21. contact yamato usa as usual. It was the red one wasn't it?
  22. Wow I would like to see some of the capcom characters like megaman fight tekkaman blade. I wonder though: could capcom please use the cool megaman in Megaman X instead. The original megaman is a result of the limitations of the NES and is ugly.
  23. You know the real question should be whether yamato would even have complaints if there was nothing to complain about? Not the complainers in question. There will always be complainers. Welcome to the internet. I didn't like the small hands on the 1/48, the non-locking chest on the yf-19, or the lack of tampo printing on the vb-6. But rather than say: stop complaining about it, it's tiring! Why can't the company just listen to the complaint so that there is none? People wouldn't waste their time complaining if they didn't think it was worth complaining about. The thing we all want is for the toys we buy to meet whatever demands we have of them and hope the standards are improved, so that there aren't future reasons to complain when others buy the toys and have to suffer with the problems. So I think if the complaints are for a worthy cause it would eventually lead in the long term, to lessening the complaints. Once each problem is fixed one by one, and the mistakes are not repeated, but corrected instead, then gradually there will be no complaints as the standards increase and fans are happy with the toy they spent huge sums of money for. See, I would much rather have a company fixing the problems complained about; and suffer having to read through all the non-valid complaints (bitching about insignificant stuff) on a forum with hundred of fans, than to just accept that the problems won't be fixed and be on a forum which is organised and where threads have to be censored and checked for "bitchiness" levels. Not that I'm condoning repetitive bitching of the same problem millions of times, but more that I just think the good complainers outweigh the bad complainers in this case, and I would prefer that the complaints are addressed so the good complainers don't have to keep up the complaining and upsetting the people who don't have anyhting to complain about. (ie all those people who were lucky and didn't get say a hip breakage or a shoulder crack and who just want a peaceful, easy-to-read forum because it hasn't happened to them yet. Which in a way is a bit selfish: in life you just have to learn to get along with people you don't like personally for the benefit of others who want the right to be able to voice their concerns, and not because you want to bend your knee to the annoying ones who abuse that right)
  24. Another thing: if it weren't for the complainers of problems for yamato toys on this board I wouldn't know which release was safe to get. So by all means, complain if it is a valid complaint. There is always room for improvement. I think the high cost of the toys wouldn't even be an issue if the toys themselves were just problem free. But if the toys DO cost high, and there ARE flaws, then that's a HUGE disapointment. So I can see why the guys who got burnt by the flaws want to warn people about yamato. It's a lot of money and it all adds up. But for those who have lots of money and can afford to take the risk on first releases: we need your feedback so we know what's safe.. So by all means keep buying yamatos if you have too much money. Just review them, take pics, warn of any possible issues like stress marks. This way yamato can't just deny the problems *exist and choose to do nothing about it. One thing I do hope yamato concentrate on for al their toys is locking mechanisms. I DO still want a locking chest on yf-19 even if the guy who doesn't care about the robot mode is fine with it. It just makes the toy feel more safe to handle. You know that feeling when you pick something up and you risk having something fall off? I don't want that. Fighter modes lock together well so I don't see why the robot mode shouldn't also do the same given that the 1/48 vf-1 toys locked up in robot mode. *by saying: "this is the first I have ever heard of the problem. No complaints from the japanese customers."
  25. I can agree with that. I love the sv-51. It stays in plane mode on the display stand next to my konig monster in gerwalk. Word of advice for SV-51: Don't get the ivanov until they re-release a fixed one. Instead get the canon fodder or nora. ('first release curse' was broken with this. ) Hopefully they can make the yf-21 problem free as well. Remember with macross it's different to us overseas guys who won't be able to request extra parts and stuff. Only the rich guys can afford to take that kind of risk. But guys remember one thing: even if a company is well-respected they can still make some flaws that a fan will find a big problem with. Look at the CMs Legioss and Tread for an example. It had all the things we wish for in yamato toys: very sturdy and with joints that feel tight and clicky. But the link up mode was criticised, the high price was a turn off for many, and there were things the crappy toynami version still did better (design wise) than the CMs version. review of CMS legioss+Tread combo: pt1 pt2 pt3 So just because you trust the company doesn't necessarily mean they still can't make a decision that other fans won't like.
