  1. while i can understand people wanting the figure and bike to be the same scale and proportionate to one another, who the heck here is going to display the figure and bike seperately? try no one. the thing that makes these cool is the fact that they combined, so as long that mode looks good, i have no complaints.
  2. regarding the reative armor and why i think its NOT going to be made... the GBP didn't do so well. the initial asking price was retarded(as much as a valk, come on yamato), then they tried milking the molds with terrible paint schemes and failed. you can find the urban and woodland versions for $60 or so nowadays and people still aren't buying them, even the blue GBP. so you gotta wonder, would yamato bother making something that even more obscure than the original GBP? how are they going to capitalize on their investment when they know repaints have failed in the past? don't get me wrong, it would be cool if they made it but considering how not so well the GBP did, i don't see a reactive armor in our near future. the only way i can see it happening is if their VF-0 design sells as well as the VF-1 design but thats not likely to happen.
  3. i did the exact same thing, i bought a MP VF-1J thinking it would be great, only to find out it was a total POS. luckly i got a 1/48 and it changed my life. all of the sudden the sky was bluer, the everything tasted better, my cock got bigger, it was amazing.
  4. thats one of the better ones i've seen. nice find!
  5. ha, my favorite WIP! just throwing this out there.. i know you did a test run in the water to see if she'd float and all but with all the additional weight from the deck, tower and everything else you're doing, will she still be able to float? it would be a shame if you did all the work and she sank during the sea trials.
  6. yeah but BoB would lose. j/k BoB. where is that dude? was he banned for too much hating?
  7. ^ no he hasn't. it looks pretty daunting at first but its actually pretty straight forward, far easier than all the other yammies IMO. i TF'ed mine perfectly just by looking at the box art
  8. i would love for that guy to show up at one of the MWcon's and see what happens to him.
  9. you love making polls don'tcha? of course everyone wants one but graham said there is little chance if any that a toy will be made. he said theres a possible chance with the fixed figure GN-U line which is fine by me.
  10. i really wanted one too but GI joe sized just seems way too small. i'll wait until i find them on super clearance cause even for $20, its a stretch.
  11. those ride armors look to be about 6" tall if even that. perhaps if the quality is there, $60 wouldn't be so bad, but IMO it looks rather cheap in just about every way, theres something very banpresto-ish about them.
  12. good thing i passed on these. its sad considering aoshima makes really good stuff but somehow got bamboozled into buying this design off toynami. whoever orchestrated this deal should be fired from their company.
  13. heres an interesting read on yellowing of plastics.... http://www.vintagecomputing.com/index.php/archives/189
  14. you're actually better off collecting 1/55's since those are actually vintage toys and considered real "collectibles". people keep saying how yamatos are going to be just like the 1/55's but in reality, these are "manufactured collectibles" specifically produced and sold to the adult market for display purposes. so 30 or 50 years from now these "manufactured collectibles" will still be sitting on someones display shelf in good condition which is not the case for the original 1/55's. while some yammies might fetch a pretty penny here and there, in reality theres so many of them out there, its not like you're going to have to really hunt theses down 30 years from now, especially considering today, people are still hunting down the 1/55's. BTW, this is what you get when you watch too many episodes of the antiques road show.
  15. it would be really cool if you could display it in battroid with missiles with the wings in the closed position.
  16. i guess thats great news, i hope my pre-ordering the 21 pays off otherwise i'm shunning yamato and selling off all of their toys....seriously.
  17. this is my problem with pre-ordering and not pre-ordering... the problem with pre-ordering is, you might end up getting some POS QC ridden toy straight out the factory ala 1st run of the VF-0's. sometimes the pre-order price you got a deal on, wasn't much of a deal to begin with(i.e. HLJ early bird) and you end up paying more for the same toy everyone is paying less for. sometimes they make fixes but you've already forked over $200, do you really want to fork over another $200 for the same toy? the problem with not pre-ordering is, if you wait too long, all the good ones will be gone and you'll be choosing from the everyone else returns/exchanges and hoping to get something decent. this is exactly what happened to me with the SV-51...twice. despite knowing its existing problems, i wished i got my SV-51 when it first came out cause at least then, my chances of getting a unopened untampered one would've been far greater. i placed a preorder for YF-21 knowing full well it could be a total POS straight from the factory but after the SV-51 fiasco, i have no desire to help sellers move their returned/damaged stock. i'd rather get a QC ridden toy than someone elses secondhand used POS any day.
  18. cool, i thought i missed it last night. i was too caught up watching american gladiator....maybe i should've have post that?
  19. i haven't watched watched mospeada in forever, i tried to watch a subbed version a year or 2 ago but couldn't take it. reading subtitles puts me in a coma but only cartoon subs. i can watch foreign movies or whatever without a problem but if i'm trying to watch a cartoon and read, i'm going to bed.
  20. i saw the mini ride armor in the pic but i don't think that counts seeing as i've had pimples that do more(at least it shoots) than that thing. and WTF, a sword? i guess i missed all those dope sword fighting scenes in mospeada.
  21. the only time i'm really on MW is at work. i don't waste my free time on the internet.
  22. i don't think what you're looking for exists. maybe theres a monster model kit that came with some kind of decal/sticker info, but AFAIK there was no such thing included with the konig toy. i say try your luck in the model section, i know someone over there built and decaled/stickered a monster before.
  23. no doubt. i know how it all works, its just that the price that we pay(US fans) is not equivalent to what HK/japanese fans pay you might pay import tax in the netherlands, but the US pays no such tax. besides $78+ seems quite a bit of a mark up for a secondary seller(thats if he even paid retail), not even considering the actual wholesale price of these.
  24. quoted for truth! when people ask who i buy from, i usually just tell them to stick to the same vendor as they will appreciate your repeat business and maybe offer discounts and such when he can. sometimes they do, sometimes they don't but its just easier(and safer) dealing with the same seller you're comfortable with rather than bouncing around from vendor to vendor trying to get the best deal. unfortunately, the seller i was loyal too just stopped offering his service after a bunch of folks here flaked on him. i don't blame him for closing up but i miss his service(and him) dearly...those were the good old days.
  25. i beg to differ. i know for a fact what chinese/japanese fans are paying and its not anywhere near what we pay. the average price of a 1/48 when the first came out was $85...yeah $85. the YF-19(that most of paid $200 for) was only $122 there.
