  1. i really hope you're right. i'm sold on these but not if they're asking price exceeds $50. the PT 1/60 valk is around $90-ish and it transforms and has a lot of features. this is smaller, has a lot of features but doesn't transform so i expect the price to reflect it. if yamato is going to charge the same price as their TFing toys, i really have no interest in it.
  2. from the looks of it, its got some really cool features, lets just hope the asking price of the destroids is within reason.
  3. no reviews needed on this one boys, i'm sold.
  4. the paint job isn't lame, its lame cause its a japan only release. i'd pick one up if i knew i wouldn't have to pay the secondary market as$hole tax on it.
  5. so it looks like i won't be canceling my order. those new MH pics looks sweeter than ever.
  6. do you know the production numbers of transformers? do you know the production numbers of valkyries? so moving right along, the "its a niche market" is a old and tired arguement. if it was so niche, we wouldn't have all these macross toys out and there certainly wouldn't be a new US cartoon nor a japanese one. if so so niche, if the money wasn't there, why would they even bother?
  7. and thats the man with the plan! and a cheap plan at that. just print it up and slap it on an existing box.
  8. if it was a niche market without much demand, how do you explain vendors running out of stock? how do you explain the inflated prices on ebay? how do you explain yamato re-releasing so many of their valks? shadow chronicles? macross frontier? and why are other companies stepping up and grabbing the license? yamato, toynami, aoshima, CM, MH, WHAM, beagle, bandai, kaiyodo? and i'ms ure i'm leaving some out. i've heard this arguement way too many times over the years and has yet to be proven. if anything, the last 8 years or so has disproved this arguement entirely.
  9. dude, even if it was $50 it'd still be ridiculous. i'm not sure what you guys are willing to fork over for a box but i'd say $20 max and thats with shipping.
  10. these toy companies have yet to figure out that if they sell it for less, they can sell a lot more of them. if these were $40, just about everyone here would've picked up at least one but with the current(mostly negative)reviews from here to japan, these are going to fail and other toy companies might not take the chance of releasing their own version of the ride armor. of course this is all spectulation but if i were MH, beagle, or toynami and saw how bad the CMs are doing, i'd consider tanking the project. hopefully they'll take CM's ridiculous asking price into consideration before making any rash decisions.
  11. i read your review, it doesn't sound terrible but not too good either. i guess i'd consider picking up the Stick version but only if its the same price you got it for. i still think $60+ shipping is too much for what it is but $47.50 shipped doesn't seem as bad. and thanks for clearing up the MH/toynami connection oreillyrel. that would've been a deal breaker for sure. as far as the possible US distribution, it really doesn't matter cause its not like we'll see these in TRU/amazon or some other giant store. we'd still have to pick them up from some small stateside vendor and still pay the same amount.
  12. ha! i forgot this was airing and i only saw the last 15 minutes of the ending. i'm not sure what the heck was going on but just based on what i did see, it was pretty terrible. KITT is whack, i can't believe its a friggin disgustang. *pukes*
  13. nah, i haven't canceled mine yet. if i get confirmation that toynami is overseeing it or involved in anyway then i'll cancel it and wait to read some reviews. i'm willing to take the gamble if is a MH, but i'm not taking a gamble if toynami. the only toy they release that was good is the voltron but thats not saying much since it didn't have a single feature/gimmick. if they tried to make it with the features/gimmicks of the original ones, i'm pretty confident that they would've failed.
  14. the ups and downs in this thread are friggin killing me. CM sucks, CM good, MH is awesome, MH has no decals so it sucks, tires are too small, MH might be distributed by toynami, i canceled my preorder, me too......WTF? whats a fanboy supposed to do now?
  15. every post has a little love and a lot of hate. i really enjoy read them.
  16. i don't know this macross II you speak of is? this is the first time i heard anyone mention it.
  17. ivanov is the only good looking one IMO(hence why i took a chance 2 times)but its also the worst in terms of everything thats important. BBTS is good for returns and such but the trade off is, its always more expensive than everyone else. theres no one i know of offering replacement parts for this thing. you either get a good one or a crappy one. i spent $400+ trying to get a good one and got nothing to show for it other than a loss of $75 or so.
  18. too stupid. looks like i might have to cancel my order too.
  19. your stuff is always great. post some abttroid pics.
  20. thats weak but thanks for clearing up this matter. i'm all 1/48'ed out but i would've made an exception for the super hikkie.
  21. its not a 2nd issue, just a restock. and what he gets depends on who hes buying from? if hes getting it direct from asia goal, you should be safe from getting someones used returned POS. if hes getting through some company, you up might get what i described up above, i got 2 POS back to back. if you want to take the chance you're more than welcome to, but as they say fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
