  1. I don’t know if this will be a success. I probably won’t buy it and I did order Star Saber. In my mind the value ist just not there for $180. This should have been a Commander Class release imho. Plus inflation is a real thing (at least in Europe) and Christmas is coming up so people probably will spend their money elsewhere
  2. I‘m aware of how the video game market in the US developed after the crash and how Nintendo dominated the market until the arrival of the Sega Genesis. In Europe it was probably similar. As I said knew someone who owned a NES and saw them in stores. However I grew up In a rural area so computers weren’t that present in the households (I got my first PC in 95). And I wasn’t particularly interested in gaming because most gaming systems I saw were arcade machines. My mom would never give me money to play and the prices were much too high to spend my scarce allowance on an experience that might be over in a couple of seconds (I tried it once or twice). I don’t know the exact prices but one game was expensive. Maybe 2 to 3 times the amount of my weekly allowance. Other places with arcades were Billard parlors but they were off limits since you had to be 18 or over to enter since they sold alcohol and people smoked in them. However that all changed when I brought back an original GameBoy from a trip to the states with my parents in 1990 I believe. I can still remember going into a ToysRus taking the little slips of paper for the system and Super Mario Land to the cash register and retrieving the console from the booth. The GameBoy was released later that year in Europe and suddenly all my friends had GameBoys too and I could trade games and talk to people about it. What really got it going was the release of the SNES in 92. The biggest grocery store in town had one unit on display were you could play Super Mario World. I would spend hours after school (or even during school hours) waiting for my chance to play the game. I had to have that system. To me it looked as good as any arcade game I‘ve ever seen at this point. (the NES never looked that good) And you could play it at home in color (only my grandma had a color TV; we still had a black and white one); imagine that. So I begged my mom to get me one for Christmas. It was an insane request to make. Never would my mom spend this much on a single present. The price of the system was three times the amount of all my Christmas gifts combined. But somehow my mom had pity with me and gave into my begging. So I was gifted an SNES as a combined birthday and Christmas gift from my whole family when the Super Mario All-Stars bundle came out in 93. My life was not the same afterwards. And again suddenly all the kids at school had one. You could buy the games in local stores and magazines were available covering what happened in the video game world, like the equivalent of the Nintendo Power. This was something I never noticed with the NES. So maybe I was too young for it or just not interested.
  3. I think the Jeremy Parish NES Works series is excellent. But I have a hard time paying attention since my systems as a child were the original GameBoy and the SNES and I have no nostalgia for the NES or any of its games. Maybe with the exception of Ice Climber and Xevious, games the mom of a friend played when I came over playing with his He Man toys.
  4. @no3Ljm, @anime52k8 I love the Ver. Ka design on the Char‘s Counterattack suits. I also like the green of the Psycho Frame. It gives a nice contrast to the yellow orange highlights. However I don’t like the transformation since it makes the Gundam look too elongated and the legs turn into sticks. Same with the Unicorn in Destroy mode. Anyhow, I don’t think a MB Nu Gundam will look like the Ver. Ka since the Hi-Nu doesn’t look anything like it.
  5. Neat. Now do a Metal Build Nu Gundam Bandai. In other news my first MB Hi-Nu is out for delivery after sitting in a warehouse for a while so I am excited.
  6. Apparently TFCon was this weekend and they had a 3rd Party panel. Here are the slides courtesy of TFW2005: https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/10/22/tfcon-chicago-2022-3rd-party-panel-slides-in-full-468486 For me there were not many new reveals. The highlight for me was FansToys with an Ultra Magnus with a inner Prime figure. Not 100% certain on the face sculpt but I am excited:
  7. Do 8+ old children count towards the "fandom" that might or might no want more Beast Wars toys?
  8. I think Getsuei pulled it off the best. Yukikaze will be probably a bit worse because of the extended size. Kaen could suffer a lot because he is probably the hips and lower torso. Seizan will probably be the same as Suiken here. Suiken’s issues are the additional (unwarranted) panels on the shoulders and "half" the train sticking off his back. Not a fan of the super busy look in bot mode. [edit:] I think combined mode will be the worst mode. Maybe one of the worst combiners since Power Core. Elbow looks super limited, the ratchets for up and down shoulders movement feel weak on my Shouki and I wonder if he will have a swivel in his biceps and outward shoulder movement. The leg’s also seem to have terrible knee movement. I wonder if there will be a add on set company like Crazy Devy that only ever releases sets for MPG Raiden.
  9. Yay, another opportunity to request a DX Chogokin VF-2SS and Macross Elysion.
  10. Is there a comparison image between the Metal Build and Chogokin Freedom Gundam? I would be particularly interested in a height comparison.
  11. Horrible (bot-mode); I ordered one!
  12. I thought season 2 was already announced. There is a trailer for season 2 on YouTube but it contains spoilers for the second half of season 1 so I would discourage you from watching it. [edit:] I’m sorry if I spoiled the show for you by mentioning that there will be more of the show.
  13. Thanks, I appreciate you filling me in on the background of the Overlord light novel. I’m curious what your thoughts are on Birdie Wing once you finished the first season.
  14. That makes a lot more sense why you have the story arcs with the coliseum and dwarf kingdom. Bur as a result the story of the arc feels disjointed. I feel like it would have made sense having Ainz make preparations to raze Re-Estize kingdom taking up all of season 4. To me it seems like a logical continuation to the end of season 3. However with first half of the season having Ainz portrayed as someone who want to establish prosperous relationships with other nations and doesn’t want the humans under his reign to suffer the turn on the kingdom, the means deployed and the outcome seem a far too stark of a contrast compared to what we‘ve seen so far. Regarding Birdie Wing I think you like the series for all the right reasons. Have you finished it already?
  15. Yeah, you are spot on on the VF-31. Didn’t parse the vertical stabilizers and canards correctly. Theory debunked.
  16. So this logo has the VF-25, the YF-29 and the YF-19 on it. Does that mean we will be getting a WWM YF-19 soon? Is the new YF-19 HG model kit marked as WWM release?
  17. Did you like season 4 of Overlord? I was whelmed. Not much stuff seems to happen while they were meddling with the kingdom. I liked season 1-3 but I binged those while I watched season 4 on a week by week basis. I really enjoyed the show. I have no deep knowledge about golf; so you are telling me it is not like this in the real sport?
  18. Maybe it even comes pre-yellowed out of the box!
  19. I think the biggest problem with Wildrider is the not accurate color. A 3rd Party company could make new hood piece but nothing will change the fact that he is the wrong shade of white.
  20. New Albedo statue: I wonder why no sculptor is able to capture Abedo‘s craziness? Sexy is all they are capable of it seems.
  21. Given that all my issues with MPG Raiden stem from Kaen and how he not really forms a lower abdomen, I wouldn’t be mad if a 3rd Party company produced as set of pants that make the thighs, lower abdomen and help to stabilize Shouki (maybe even have an armature that moves Raiden‘s head to the top of Shouki). Doesn‘t necessarily if it transforms into a train or even a Kaen looking robot.
  22. I was worried that this is the announcement for the Grand Slam add-on set for ¥8999. Anyhow, I was reminiscing about how much I liked Gundam Unicorn. I really want a Metal Build take on it. I would prefer if it didn’t transform but rather have a separate releases of the Unicorn Mode and Destroy Mode. This would really help to get better proportions in Destroy Mode because the GMCFF ones are too lanky and the limbs are too elongated. It would also make it a lot more articulated if the transformation gimmick doesn’t get into the way.
  23. I hope you like it. I really enjoy mine with all the options you get in that set. I prefer the regular version. Even if it is bare plastic the glossy white looks better to me than the „dirty“ white paint on the Chronicle White version.
