Or if you look at the HotToys price creep. I think the Iron Man Mark III was $160 and not the Mark XLV is now $360. Of course you get more out of the new Movie Masterpiece figures but it is still a major price hike. Two things I would like to add to my first thoughts are that this kind of response from Mr. K seems rather unusual from a Japanese Company. So either the Japanese corporate culture changed or things are rather bleak looking for Arcadia that they fall back to such a look into the production process. Please correct me if I'm wrong. The second thought is that why open yourself to criticism for the hight price by omitting paint applications like the U.N.SPACY marking on the legs and FAST packs. If your going for the high priced collectible you want to have happy customers that usually want the most out of a given purchase. The crumbling hip joints and the paint scrapping on the metal swing bar can be design oversights that never happened on the test samples and preproduction copies that where used for quality control. Stuff like the leg markings is something that doesn't seem like a major expense to me. The lower legs don't have seam lines or a huge curvature to them where the marking goes and the marking itself is only one color. It just doesn't seem to be difficult to apply and lead to many scrap parts that don't pass quality control. On the FAST packs it seems more difficult because it would go over a black marking so there could be potential color bleeding. I don't need all the "realistic" No Step markings and warning labels that Bandai is putting on their toy (oh btw I have color bleeding on my VF-19ADVANCE where the black paint on the lower leg is producing panel lines because it runs through the seam line) but all the markings shown in the anime should be reproduced on the toy.

STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2
Scyla replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I must say in neutral lighting Kylo Ren looks pretty boring in all black. In the trailers there was always a red/copper shine to him from the surrounding light sources which looked pretty bad ass. -
I saw this video about loosening joints on toys that are squeaky: Now I can't find the product he is using in my country but I found a silicon shock oil from Tamiya: http://www.amazon.com/53445-Silicone-Dampener-Oil-Hard/dp/B0000WRY5C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1441446894&sr=8-1&keywords=Tamiya+300053445&pebp=1441446892287&perid=16T48JMTC1VYRZWK8PYH Can I use this on my toys without damaging the plastic to make the joints smooth so I'm not stressing the joint.

I would probably just buy one Messiah to check the V3 out. I mean what is the worst thing that could happen?

This is one informative article. Very interesting. TL:DR I like Arcadias products and will support them further on but the shortcomings and qc issues are a major bummer for their asking price. Sorry for the lengthy post. I will put it into spoiler-tags so you're not bothered by it.

I mean not the regular slots where the canards where slotted in on the V1 VF-0. I mean the big slots for the beige missile launchers (the one that are too wide for the V1 armament). Because the chest of the Battroid-Mode is narrower than on the previous iteration I thought maybe the canards can slot into the top slots.

After seeing Veefs review in full I can say that I'm really baffled why they omitted the transparent parts on the wings. They had to have a runner for transparent parts for the canopy and the orange bits on the back pylons. Why they didn't mold two parts for the wing lights seems to be not much of a cost increase. So maybe it was a design driven decision to use the black parts instead. But why? *insert gif here*

That is weird that the Ghost drone doesn't fit. On the one side I'm glad I didn't hunt one down. On the other side it is sad to see that several people spent extra money on acquiring the drone that now has no place to go on the toy. Could you attach the booster by putting the two canards of the drone into the slots in the conformable fuel tanks? The paint scratches on the wings seem like a major design flaw. Maybe it was a mistake designing the VF-0D first and the A/S after. On the D the delta wings don't touch the metal swing bar. That might be the reason they discovered this flaw when it was already too late for changes (i.e. after producing the VF-0A). The missing clear bits on the wings is also a major bummer. While still a surprise that a high priced item like the VF-0A doesn't have them I'm less annoyed because none of Arcadias new Valkyries has them. The worst offender is the YF-19. I'm not sure why they chose to omit them on the 19 because it seems to be enough material there to at least have a small overlay part similar to the VF-22S/YF-21 wing lights. While not a major letdown it is still sad to see because I really like a good material mix on my collectibles. Rubber tires, die-cast bits, plastic, translucent parts, a lot of painted areas (like the inside of the landing gear bays and doors) and different kind of paints (metallic/non metallic) combined in one collectible toy are a sight to behold. This is the reason why I love my Transformers Alternity cars and I'm lukewarm about the Masterpiece Star Saber (and some other Masterpiece toys) when it comes to the display pieces of my collection. They are good toys though but sometimes this is not enough. Seeing Arcadia skimping on these details is sad to see and I hope they can keep up a successful business and not drive off their customer base.

Bummer! On the other hand the gap between the lower legs and the thigh area looks much narrower on your pictures than on the first set of pictures in this thread.

Today was not a good day. I was taking advantage of the last dry and warm days this year and flat coat the Gunpla kits I built last year. While outside I lost the dark gray inlet in the skirt of my RG Justice Gundam. Bummer! Does anyone know if there is a feasible way to order replacement runners from Japan?

Lavender colored heat shield. I'm so glad I bought this one. All the QC problems on one item is a bummer and hopefully not indicative of the whole run.

I also prefer the way the turbine intakes where handled on the VF-27. On a real fighter-jet they are way more recessed than it would be possible on a Valkyrie model where the hip joint is right behind the front of the intake. It is tolerable on the Arcadias/Yamatos offerings and the latest Bandai Valkyries since the fans are painted but on the majority of the Renewal Valkyries it looks terrible. So terrible that I have the intake covers on all the time (also to keep track of them).

Gundam Figure Thread - Newtype GN-002
Scyla replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah with the Gold Frame it looks a bit better. What I mean is exactly this part: (courtesy of http://www.gaijin-gunpla.com) Without a wash or some sort of highlighted detail it just looks very bland to me and more like a toy than a high price and quality collectible. Maybe a metallic paint will do wonders. I guess I will know once I have it in hands.- 6025 replies

After seeing the review for the RG Red Frame I'm super hyped for the MB version. I wonder how Bandai will do the back of the shoulders because the all red shoulder with red detailing underneath looked always weird to me. I'm also looking forward to the markings on it. I'm hoping they print the logo on the shoulder and leg.- 6025 replies

Mine is sitting in their warehouse for the next 60 days.

The payment requests from HLJ should be out right now.

Can someone share pics of the runners? I'd really like to know how they differ from other miniwargaming miniatures. [edit:] I found a few pictures online and from what I could gather they really look more like scale model kits than a gaming token.

Maybe we should form the Macross World Foundation that is archiving all the Macross merchandise in a museum. With all the spares it wouldn't be too devastating if a child with a drink stumbles on them.
-
I'm sure it is more expensive because it has the U.N.Spacy logo on the leg packs. I don't understand why the VF-0A doesn't have them. I can understand why the toys are so expensive but when you reach the $250 mark there should be everything included. I said it before I don't need markings that aren't included in the anime but the markings that are visible should be recreated on such a collectible. I'm just hoping they release the Reactive Armor as a stand alone part and not only in VF-0S bundles.

Who's your favorite Macross Character?
Scyla replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
Major/President Milia all the way! I so want her VF-1J with the black stripes from M7. -
So bought: http://www.collectiondx.com/news_item/82415/sh_figuarts_star_wars_scout_trooper_and_speeder_bike I've seen an image of the old Kenner figure in a add inside a Mickey Mouse comic somewhere around 1985 and at the time didn't know what this was. My parents ruled that I was too young for Star Wars so I could only imagine what this was but I really dug the look of it. This looks exactly like the image of the Scouttrooper that I had in my head ever since. The Kenner toy looks nearly as good.

I have +200 issues of the White Dwarf magazine stored somewhere and I don't know what to do with them (the answer is clear: throw them away). So I know what your dealing with. A few years back I've drown all of my gaming magazines away so I got rid of some of my "archive".

I'm sorry if I misunderstood some of the posts here so I edited my post to make my thoughts more clearly.

I really hope they are thinking about reissuing the Ghost booster. I'm unable to find one for a good price. [edit:] As mentioned somewhere on this board it is rumored that Arcadia has only the molds from the Macross 7 Valkyries onwards and the V2 VF-1. So I assume they don't have the molds for the Ghost booster. I wonder if they still have the CAD designs since I can't imagine that the design needs to be fixed. It is probably to expensive to retool the drone for this release. [edit2:] Edited for clarification.
