  1. Ok, you can have your tampo printing for an additional two dollars for each marking.
  2. Those tiny garage kits have arguable the most perfect VF-1 look given their size.
  3. Wow, I had no idea that was a real product. I always assumed it was just some funny Engrish. Just like the HARD ON games in Megazone 23 the Third
  4. You can understand my confusion on the Itano/ Kawamori issue considering that Itano was the head mechanical animator and his work on Megazone 23 echoes his work on Macross.
  5. Please do. I would love to see the origins of the Battle Convoy.
  6. MATTE! Vaikanfu is from Machine Robo: Revenge Of Cronos. http://youtube.com/watch?v=gNAbP2VfpDI
  7. Ichiro Itano is the one behind the amazing fight choreography in Macross.
  8. While I'm not so gung-ho about Newtypes like Keith, I do prefer the more epic characters of the MSG and Zeta era playing a large part in the shaping of the world they live in. Part of the problem I have with the OVAs is that they despite promises of a "down to Earth story" each one manages to have at least one "SUPER DEADLY WEAPON THAT COULD HAVE TURNED THE TIDE!" 0080 does a lot better than the other three big OVAs since the Mobile Suits are mostly window dressing (and I dare say just pointless service to the fans or a chance for Izubuchi to re-design OYW Mobile Suits) and the story is a true classic. However some of the details can leave a bad taste in your mouth, like Christine could have easily been testing a GM or something not linked to Amuro Ray. 08th MS Team suffers from "You gotta have a Gundam syndrome" and the ridiculous sekrit weapon that is the Apsalus. As for 0083... the story is barely mediocre and just serves as a vehicle for more models (even more so than most Gundam shows. GM Quel anyone?).
  9. That's 7zip. I highly recommend the 7zip program. It's free and can open almost any kind of compressed file. Even those obscure ones Japanese people tend to use.
  10. Wow, the flight mechanics look much improved from the last game.
  11. I don't think its anime magic so much the problem the persists making armored figures. You just can't get the same relative thickness in terms of how big the armor looks on the outside versus how thick it is on the inside. Look at how that affects Saint Cloth Myth figures. They look fine with their armor, but without it they look really emaciated in order to make the armor thick enough so the individual pieces aren't paper thin.
  12. Does JVC Victor even own II, Plus, and Zero music? I think that's one of the bigger problems with Macross music compilations. I'm a little confused as to what they can and can't release.
  13. They should've had Kakizaki pilot the VEFR-1. He's not that useful in a fight anyways.
  14. Clearly Misa wouldn't have been captured had she been in a VEFR-1. When the Zentradi grabbed her plane, a VEFR-1 could've totally spin kicked that guy.
  15. The VEFR-1 made a brief appearance in episode 27.
  16. Now that's Robotech thinking right there. And since when has the VF-1D been an ECM craft? Isn't that the job of its sister design the VEFR-1?
  17. I honestly thought those little black trapezoids were part of the paint job.
  18. Clearly a two seater in the original Macross must be a VF-1D. It may be colored like Max's VF-1J, but the design is still a VF-1D.
  19. http://mahq.net/mecha/megazone23/megazone23-3/e-xgarland.htm The hands aren't stored in the arms. They stay out to allow room for the knives and weapon bay.
  20. Thinking about it, the easiest way to figure this out is to watch the next episode previews (if it has any) and see how the show is introduced. Like, if the narrator says Next time on Chou Jikuu Yousai: Macross Nisei then it's the Second. I only have Manga's dumb "movie version" so I don't know if there are next episode previews.
  21. Ginrai and I are planning a podcast on Macross II and we were just wondering if the title of Macross II (like the number 2) or Macross II (as in Macross the Second). The confusion stems from the fact that anime titles seem to use roman numerals to stand for "the second" or "the third" like Babel II is Babel the second, or Artimage III is Artimage the third. Likewise Megazone 23 III is Megazone Two Three the Third.
