I also agree that the movie's supposed "target audience" does not excuse the poor manner in which this movie was put together.

I don't even think it's meant to be a VA-14. I believe it's just a generic Macross-y version of the SR-71 (like more than the VA-14). You can even see a little drone thing next to that the SR-71 had.

I guess that purple one is suppose to be Purple Leader from the PS2 game.

Fleet of the Strongest Women was awesome. Basara turned all the Meltrans into giant groupies with his voice. De culture! Basara~!

JVC Victor was laughing all the way to the bank with Macross 7.

The director of Macross 7 was Tetsuro Amino. Here's his homepage. He directed such works as Layzner, Iron Leager, SD Gundam Counterattack, SD Gundam Gaiden, and a bunch more. He has a lot of light hearted shows under his belt and I think that's what he brought to the table for Macross 7.

Ashi Productions did the animation for Macross 7. I imagine Studio Nue didn't have a lot to do with the directing.

The Flip Top mod with the swap discs is definitely idiot proof. And it works really well. Well, if your PS2 is the slim version then it's a bit trickier. It's still better than attempting to apply a mod chip and ending up with a bricked system.

I know some points of contention come in our interpretation of the Guld flashback. At best it was assault and at worst it was like saying hello in Japan.

I'd say all of VFX-2 was forgettable since it was a pretty awful game, but ya know... Valkyries have always had some sort of amphibious capabilities. The VT-1 in DYRL was quite happy while it was floating in the water while Misa and Hikaru explore the Protoculture city. Even the official stats for the VF-1 state it has an operational underwater depth of 100 meters. The VF-0 was just demonstrating how a Valkyrie can operate in many different environments.

The M version is submersible. It has a fourth mode where the wings fold down and the elevators swing around 180 degrees in a reverse sweep. The arms are actually pontoons as well.

Hopefully Dynamite 7 will be included on the new HD release of Macross 7.

Why did they make the Koenig Monster? I imagine that it is about as popular as a VF-4.
