  1. Nah... there are some kickass titles in there. It's just that they're separated into groups so you're screwed. I'd take: 1) The Prestige 2) (Toss up between) Superman/Full Metal jacket 3) American Psycho 4) Crappy selection 5) Another crappy selection... Species, maybe?
  2. C'mon, they're toys, not penises... They're small, but still cool. I never wanted any until I actually saw one my friend had in person, and by that point they were getting hard to find. I jumped on this deal right away.
  3. Well, your statement was kind of blase'.
  4. OMG. You did not just say that, did you? Did you ever think that the HK bootleggers might just be part of the reason they're shutting down? Hmmm... Criminal syndicate selling the same thing for less because they don't have to pay any licensing fees or advertise the product.
  5. Ok, so the wife and I purchased the 1-disc copy of the "Unrated and Unprotected" version of Knocked Up, which seems to be conspicuously missing the scene where Seth Rogen's character does an impression of Ah-nuld from Total Recall saying "Cohagen, give em de air!" Ummm... anyone else notice this?
  6. I think I need to clarify my statement. Although BSG is doing well enough for Sci-FI, it is an expensive show to make, and the ad revenue that sci-fi brings in isn't equal to what a major network gets. The bad ratings statement was more in comparison to what other shows on other networks can bring in. IIRC- BSG is lucky to pull in 4-5 million viewers per episode, yet some of the crappiest shows in the Big 4 pull that in easily.
  7. That's a possibility, but has anyone considered that BSG is, technically, doing very, VERY, bad in the ratings? We were discussing this the other night and someone brought up the possibility that there isn't enough money to do a whole 20 eps in one go, so they're splitting it up so they can sell Season 4.0 DVDs to fund Season 4.5... Just an idea. Remember that it's not just the network who decides when a show runs, it's also whether or not the production company and everything else can get the product out. For all we know it could be Universal who is dropping the ball on this.
  8. Yeah, but while I love the VFX, I'll take the writing and acting of this show over eye-candy every single time. This show transcends visuals.
  9. I have to fault my wife, though. She timed the viewing schedule for right after the 2-parter where we are introduced to the Beast. I though it ould be better to see Razor first, and the go into the 2-parter. That's just my opinion, though. God, I love this show.
  10. I'm in the same boat. my wife and I, including our friend, Heather, who we got into BSG, are going to watch all of the seasons before 4 starts. My wife even planned out our viewing schedule, timing 2-part episodes and multiple story-arc episodes to be shown together, if possible. She also timed it so that we watch Razor right when the Beast shows up.
  11. A) No. Memory of Light, the last book in the series, was not completed. As of yet, there is no indicationas to how much progress was made. B) Direct quote from WoTmania.com, a fan-site with strong connections to RJ and his family. News here is usually very reliable: "I talked with Jason about this. He said that Jordan has been dictating outlines and plot lines and everything else related to the final book. He used the phrase "army of writers" to talk about the people that were converting those tapes into written form." So the last book is still a go. Just that it will probably be a while longer until it is released. I'm fairly sure his editors will be the final word on how the story is written, and his close family, always a big part of his writing, will be the final word on what is written. WoT is like a guilty pleasure. It's the one series that, every fan I know, likes to complain about it all of the time, but cannot stop reading it.
  12. Yeah, that first boook really dissuades a lot of people. But the series really starts taking off on it's own in the second book. I knew he graduated from the Citadel, but I didn't know he served two tours in Vietnam.
  13. Well, this is a damn shame. After being diagnosed with primary amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy he was so upbeat (at least in his postings and blogs to fans) to beat it. He also pushed himself so hard to get tha last and final book in WoT series out while he could. Here's to an all around great guy, and a fine fantasy novelist.
  14. Meh... While they were neat, and I love the MGS games, Rex and Ray just weren't that cool to me. Plus, do they really qualify as tanks? They're main source of movement is locomotion through the legs.
  15. Ooooo... I forgot about those!!! Second behind Bonaparte!!!
  16. Same thing here. Safari on Mac.
  17. Well, I stand corrected. Although I believe your color commentary may be skewing things a bit.
  18. Not that it means much of anything, but I have a couple of the old Battletech 2" model kits (imports of the Nichimo Macross kits) from 1986, and it clearly says "Licensed by Tatsunoko Productions" on the instructions. IIRC, the concept that HG layeth the smacketh down on FASA to stop using the designs was always assumption. It could be that their license ran out and they did not/or weren't allowed to, renew it. It could also be that FASA, after having licensed those model kits, fell in the same trap as HG did, and thought that this license gave them all kinds of rights that they really didn't have. Simply put, unless they're lying, FASA did get a license to legitimately release the Nichimo kits here in the U.S., as to anything else, I'm not sure.
  19. I hate to say it, because Tobey Maguire isn't a bad guy, but I started thinking a bit about big budget vanity projects based on obscure source material, and Battlefield Earth came to mind. Ugh...
  20. Yeah, this will probably not be anything like The Macross Saga. Doing so, and then trying to release this film in Japan, may cause a big can of worms to be opened regarding the rights fight between BigWest and Tatsunoko. So, in order to avoid that trouble, they make new story and new mecha so it can show in Japan without a ruckus.
  21. I swear I've seen a different vid of that B-29 before, only it launches a small, rocket-powered X-1 that takes off super-fast.
  22. Ahhh... I remember when we took my friend's sister's Mall Madness board game and adapted it into a tabletop war game... while still utilizing the cards and that creepy voice thing it had. "Sale at the shoe store!"
  23. Ahhh... Once again Roy moderates in his super-happy vitriolic manner...
