  4. impressive D collection spanner! tempted me to get an 0D....must..resist..
  5. Good discussion here. I personally felt the same as SuperSenpai, that the small loss is for the *rent* paid to enjoy the toys. I buy valks mostly after reading reviews and looking at online pictures (mostly on MW forum). But in the rare cases where I dont feel like keeping a valk in my collection, I will sell it. And knowing full well how the prices fluctuate, I will do survey mostly based on the selling prices here on MW and also the price I paid for it. But then again I am thrift when it comes to valks (I mostly pay less than MSRP,except for the few newer releases). It all comes down to how much youre willing to spend on a valk, a matter of personal preference IMHO. If no one buys it, after some time the prices will inevitably go down.
  6. Still in good ol minneapolis, didnt know youre here or did you just updated your location? (in avatar). One of these days! One of these days...setting aside med fees money for baby due in April, in case it shoots through the roof. wife's insurance covers for normal labor, but you'll never know until baby is out. Maybe end of May would be a good time to know if I will have balance to spend on Macross
  7. Looking great Gakken. So, the question remains, to pay now or pay later (100¥ = $0.82 as of 3/14/15). Preordered @ NY for ¥23150 shipping included ~ $190....hmmmmmm
  8. I have to agree that the v2 25 is remarkable, but for some reason I cant seem to find a place in me for them. For some reason it felt as though the 25/27/29/30 etc designs are made to be too advanced that they look overly cartoon-ish (apologies to all fans). That and the shiny ABS finish that makes them look toy-ish as opposed to the matte ABS finish on Yamato/Arcadia that makes them look like models. Well, what the hell am I saying, theyre all toys. Maybe Im just old school. haha.. The tornado parts look a bit cartoonish too (again, apologies to all fans). Regardsless of the so-called "cons" of Bandai valks, I feel that more efforts were put in the design of Yamato/Arcadia valks (for example the landing gears). The curves and details on the Yamato/Arcadia also felt true to the design (VF/YF-19, VF/YF-22/21, VF-1, never owned a VF-17 and VF-4), even though they lack in tampo prints. Its as if theyre the artisan of valks, designed with valk-hipsters in mind. haha..
  9. Exactly. Poor soul, bought it and thought he got a deal.
  10. Least favourite would be Bandai VF-25 valks (sold all of them...25F,25A, RVF-25). Dont get me wrong. The engineering that went into the toys is stunning (anime accurate, poseability, etc2), but as time goes by it just felt plastic. Donno why, maybe its the shiny plastic that they used, making them look like McDonald's happy meal toys, or maybe its just that I dont feel attached to the new show. Or maybe the valk design felt like a stone throw's away from VF-1 design, or backward compared to what we had in Plus. The 19/21 redefined the designs of valks both in battroid & fighter (gerwalk is given) when compared to the previous iteration (VF-1), but 25 felt like it went back to the VF-1.

  12. Dat 22S's. Love the sleek fighter mode, but just wished Yamato had put in more efforts when they designed the legs (hips area) Regardless, bought 2 Gamlin's. Im a sucker

  17. Just assembed a detolf + dioder for my growing (re-hashed) Macross collection. Was surprised that the new dioder lights are yellowish in color, unlike the one I assembled many years ago (for my 1/48's) which was more white-ish. Read somewhere that ikea changed their LED supplier. Oh well... EDITED : deleted pics, didnt like the way they look
