So basically, the back brace is there to prevent it from flopping around like the YF-19 v1, or something like that? Kinda seems like Bandai got lazy to me, and couldn't figure out the engineering. That said, I already have 2 on order, and each will permanently be in fighter, and battroid mode respectively.

as interesting as that looks, I can't really imagine the boosters will work much when in Battroid mode (tearing the wings off perhaps? hahaha)

Oh man, I remembered watching this on my cable channel near the late 90s, and wondering why there was only ever 1 OVA ever made. Come to think of it, the Madox-1 does resemble the anime Starship Troopers powered suit. Except with wings and gatling guns, Perhaps a mod of the Revoltech or Sentinel x T-Rex releases would make for a good base for a Madox-1 Custom -

Come to think of it, there isn't any version of the Monster with this decal is there? That said, I much preferred the Devil Sheryl design. Also, while I'm not much of a Ranka fan, could someone post that pic with the crude drawing of a "Koenig Ranka" on a warhead ?

ahh, I see. I forgot about that. I decided that 1 is enough for this piece. I still need to preserve shelf space for my 2 x YF-30s and hopefully 1 day, 3 x 25S. Then I think I'm done with the Frontier Valks. Also would not be surprised at the inevitable super pack. I'm sure even if there wasn't one, Bandai would make one.

HLJ usually has a 1 unit per customer limit for DX Chogokin releases. It's not stated up front, and only shows up once you've added the item to cart. And even then, the system still lets you go through with your order. It is only after that, that they'll send you a warning about doing so. I've told them before that perhaps they should indicate the limit on the item page itself, since it is not very apparent to buyers, but that has yet to be changed. Anyway, this has been the easiest Valk to get for me. I actually scored one on Amiami on launch day, and I believe it was up for a while too.

though in the case of my local hobby stores, the web exclusives are severely marked up, making import ultimately the better choice

that's cause of different designs, and also the DX Chogokin line was never touted as being really 1/60. afaik it's was never officially mentioned officially either

^Well... at this late in the game, most of the really good deals have already been snapped up. I guess it's still possible to pick up the Arcadia VF-1J 30th Anniversary version, because that price is really good. I would pick up one to replace my current one with a broken tab, but I doubt I can afford the space. Plus I've already spent too much this month. Some of the Robot Damashiis are really cheap, as are the Riobots that were on offer.

Only if you're paying via Credit Card. If you selected Paypal, I'm fairly sure you pay immediately. Also, worry not, you can still cancel it. But you gotta write to them to do so.

Got my 2nd piece (bought during Black Friday sale) shipped from my HLJ PW at long last. It seems fine, though there's some odd moulding difference under the wings.. like a very shallow mound of plastic.. not sure if these are the so called stress marks or excess plastic that accumulated during moulding perhaps? Either way, it looks fine and tight, and I'm definitely leaving this in Fighter mode only. Got my 1st one to play and pose in Battroid (with a loose ankle )

I didn;t know CD Japan required immediate payment. Probably cause you picked Paypal or something? When I set it to pay via my credit card, they only charge it when it is ready to ship. You could still cancel before then.
