Aliens Vs. Predator 2 Script and Movie Review
wolfx replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
As a cameo, a decapitated T-800 torso lies in one of those sticky cocoon like things in front of a hatching egg. A face hugger hatches and tries raping Arnie's mouth but he just chews on it till it dies. "Hasta La Vista, baby." -

Please don't quote pictures mate. >_< Have some deculture. -
Skinny legs or not...the Yamato wins for me. The only plus the D-stance has for me is that the head rotates.

Aliens Vs. Predator 2 Script and Movie Review

The scientists have a trump card.....they have ROBOCOP in cryostasis! Robocop battles the alien queen and predator while the scientists make a beeline for the closest evac ship. They get off ...the planet explodes....but they see facehugger stasis tubes....they hear screeching. They scream...but in space....nobody can hear them scream. The ship is bound for earth....colorado gunnison or what's left of it. XD -
Its basically just an armour upgrade for the Aestivalis. Akito probably grabbed it off some Jupiter lab or something. It was never explained. Fairly important since Akito was more or less considered the bad guy of the movie with that black menacing mech which later revealed it was his pink aestivalis all along.

Macross 25th Anniversary and Macross F/Frontier news thread III

For a transforming GBP, i'd hit it. To me it looked like a Aliens Power Loader strapped behind a Gundam Seed METEOR unit. -
Its not just bandai macross toys. Its ANY non-gundam toys by Bandai. (Other than the SOC series of course)

I lol-ed at the flame war. Well fat leg fetish ppl and thin leg ppl aside, I really like the toy's sculpt. Maximiria: Like most people said, the toys are all about compromise. Sometimes the fighter mode is compromised and sometimes its the battroid....this is part and parcel of transforming toys. Finding the RIGHT compromise is an art form and for the YF-21 now, it seems to be the de-facto transforming version of a YF-21. Heck I'll even say it may be better than the D-stance kit. My only wish for the Yammie YF-21 is that its head (along with the hood) has some kinda articulation like the D-stance kit but it seems like it won't have it. There's no point arguing about "it doesn't look that thin in anime" blablabla. End of the day if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it. MW-ers after all have people who held out on the SV-51s and YF-19s even......so its not like everyone agrees how good a sculpt is.

Valkyrie are the names coined for variable fighters in Macross, despite the VF-1 holding the codename. It probably continued on for the subsequent variable fighters as a general term. In Macross 7 its often you hear them saying "all Valkyrie squadrons, scramble" etc. VF-0 was "Phoenix" at one point in time IIRC then don't know what happened to it. And to answer questions about destroids: I remember reading in the compendium(can't load it now for some reason) that they were the 1st mecha created before the valkyrie to address the alien threat, but due to their speed and inflexibility they were phased out of production in favour for the valkyries, despite the valkyries costing much more to produce. So there's no more destroids created after the valkyries apparently. -
What does "SPACY" in UN Spacy mean? I thought it was UN Space Agency but someone thinks its UN Space Navy. http://macross.anime.net/story/encyclopedi...pacy/index.html Compendium doesn't mention anything. Both sorta make sense....but if the Spacy is in charge of ship colonisation and is also a government, i don't think the Navy has jurisdiction in those.

Btw i dun think anyone asked this before but what are those tentacly things Ozamu dodged while chasing the BRM? Tentacly space mines? Hmmm. -
I liked the current episode and how its so similar to current middle east politics. I wonder if the anime will ever get away with it if it used the original country names.

Done....but this time it looked like she was being sucked out of the colony's atmosphere into deepspace or something from the next episode preview. Probably didn't wanna cause a panic to the public.....or something. -
Aliens Vs. Predator 2 Script and Movie Review

Just came back from the movie. Definately liked it better than AVP1. But they kept the 1 hour alien gestation period retcon which I have a huge problem with....and the Predalien now is able to . At the end of the movie it really makes you wonder what is the Predator's involvement in the whole thing has got to do with everything. It seems kinda lame that he alone went to earth despite the seriousness of the whole thing. But I liked how they sneaked in at the end of the movie. Does makes everything ominous and somehow tie in with the original Alien movies. -

As typical of an idol i suppose. Consider her a more experienced MinMay as an idol and there you have it. Really solid characters! I finally got to watch it and I love it. I wet my pants, shat bricks....and all other gross descriptions of ZOMGWTFBBQ you can think of. Yes I do feel sorry for Graham with all the VF-117 explodage. I just hope this isn't a "1st episode syndrome" where the 1st episode shows the best of the series and what happens later are pretty mundane. Do things still have to be in spoiler tags? Oh well. We should start listing the subtle/obvious references to previous macross once the spoiler tags come off. Overall a good episode. Hope to see more in April...and hopefully an uploaded copy of the Kawamori interview. -
Macross 25th Anniversary Convention
wolfx replied to wolfx's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
For now they are "con-exclusives" but depending if the "organisers" wanna handle preorders and shipping, we'll open it for preorders later. -
I own one of these. Whether to get it or not really depends how much you like the Aquarion design IMHO. The toy's complex transformation and sturdy joints are a plus side but don't expect it to be able to stand without the included stand since its a really unstable toy. Its no revoltech either in terms of poseability but its good enough. In other words if you're expecting SOC sturdiness and quality you won't get it. But as a Aquarion toy its good as it gets for now. I change its modes from time to time when I'm bored. The Aquarion Mars (the blue one) weakest and most ugly mode in toy form IMHO.
