You're both talking about the same things. I think he meant cannons as big kahuna gun. XD -

The BDI/BCS proved too unstable and susceptible to pilot's mental well being and thus was not implemented. Besides you need "newtype"-ish powers and reaction time to use it like how JBO explained like moving PPB to cockpits and what not. Besides the main use for the BDI/BCS was the "morphing wings" which was entirely concept and not meant to be implemented in the final production due to costs and also excluded from the VF-22. -
I'l try to keep it short. XD When I was young....i only got toys during birthdays and even then it was limited by a budget. I couldn't get the big stuff like Optimus Prime and what not. Its due to upbringing, not that my dad couldn't afford it. So most of my sad childhood I spent at the toys department looking at toys and burning images into my head so I can go home and pretend I owned them. Thanks to that sad episode of my life.... (thanks alot dad) i'm now a toy addict and collect toys cause I can afford them. My room has too many toys that the boxes now are strewn all over the floor....some not yet opened due to lack of display space. So I was cleaning up the room , not even 1/4 done and I realised what a load of crap I bought over the years. Some random forgotten gashapon....lotsa PVC girl figures, and lotsa Binaltech transformers were part of the forgotten pile of toys. Now I keep telling myself to concentrate only on valks with varying degrees of success. Hehe.

Both designs started at the same time. One was adopted as the de facto anti-giant weapon system. The Battroid. That's how I see it. There's no indication in the entire compendium timeline of the discontinuation of the destroid series but we all know it happened. By 2007 the VF-1's mass production begins and its deployment on 2008 and by then all the destroids we know have been produced and deployed. There's no indication of anymore being made after the VF-1. So its highly possible that the production has stopped prior to SW1, or at least they never got into a 2nd production run of destroids before all the war factories got orbital bombarded. I'm still quite sure it happened around before SWI . -

VF-1. One of the main reasons other than the classicness of it all is what I consider the ingenius transformation. I mean who would've thought of putting the head at the bottom of the fighter mode? I think that's one of the most awesome designs. I mean you'd use it to fire anti-fighter lasers in all modes and can even use it to fire at a target next to you or below you. And when it transforms it becomes into a head. Awesomeness. The later valkyrie designs lost this coolness factor though and the head has been relegated into the middle of the fighter and fires some puny laser that's supposed to get enemies off your back (without much effect IMHO). So yeah I love the VF-1 for its head. Btw why is this in the anime/scifi thread? -

The destroids were the 1st anti-giant-alien weapon systems created but were discontinued in favour for the VF-X programme despite costing 20 times more. Those in service on the Macross and the many others still in service are the last ones. There were no more destroids created after the VF-1 (except the Konig Monster) http://macross.anime.net/mecha/united_nati.../vf1/index.html From Compendium: So as you can see economical but probably not great enough for survivability. Sure its cheaper to make 200 zerglings and rush them towards the enemy base who has the more expensive Protoss Carriers and Reavers. Who wins? Definately not the Zerglings. -
I can't wait to do some Asuka X Rei scenes. Hehehe.

Makoto shinkai has been the art director for some galge and there's an anime created for one of the games called ef- a tale of memories. But the story is not by him although the visuals are. Info for those who might be interested.

The character is from a game of the same name...in coin-op arcade and PS2 i believe. Its a 2D shoot-em-up. One of the features is you can "tractor beam" the enemies...spin him around u while dealing damage and blocking bullets and fling him back towards the wave of enemies. miriya: I bet you like Sky Girls and Strike Witches too.

Thanks for the pics Graham! Gosh the way the gunpod is stored is causing me to tilt my head all over the place but i finally got it. The gunpod is like basically next to the engines and the legs are crammed! I'd be surprised if what you assumed to be micro missile launchers on the 171 are true. -
I only compared it to VoaDS because its a one man show, and also how the art of packing so much story into half an hour.

IIRC in the manga the setting on the space ship is still like a highschool for the pilots so they still retain their school uniform. (GAH i can't find my manga...where is it?) Its more Gunbuster than Ender really since Gunbuster relates the effects of time dilation on its characters. Ender wasn't affected by the time dilation.

ANyone got their Gundam Unicorn yet? One of the major problems with the kit is that the knee can't bend beyond 45 degrees. With a little mod, it can go almost 90 degrees. Mod shown here: http://kengunpla.blogspot.com/2007/12/mg-u...dam-part-i.html

There's no reason why both Yamato and Bandai can't make toys together...unless Bandai was one of the major sponsors for the show and got exclusive rights. -

Ok will await the lineart then. I have strangely never seen the lineart for the VF-17's leg's internals so I was quite perplexed on how the gunpod stores and fires in fighter mode.
