  1. MBDA, the manufacturer of Meteor has a US subsidiary, and Meteor could be produced in the US. In fact, it is in their US product catalog. Now producing it in the US is one thing, breaking Raytheon's dominance is another
  2. The Macross type ship of the Order of Saint Mark, the OSM Christ Pantocrator (from my Macross Alexandria fanfic universe): Specifications: Ship type: variable attack space aviation cruiser Government: Order of Saint Mark (OSM) Manufacturer: Hyundai Heavy Industries Launched: June 18, 2065 Commissioned: December 10, 2066 Number of class commissioned: 1 Complement: Ship's company: 100 Air wing: 40 Dimensions (Cruiser mode): -Length: 480 m -Width: 180 m -Height: 99 m Mass: operational mass 200000 tons Structure: heavy energy converting armor Power system: fold reactor, reaction engine cluster Main machinery: super fold system cluster, 4x main engine thrusters, gravity control system Countermeasures: pin-point barrier system, repulsion field system, ECM system Armament: -2x Heavy Quantum Reaction Cannon/Macross Cannon -12x quarter cannons -640x missile tubes for Standard and ESSM missiles -32x point defense turrets Craft and mecha: 30x craft in two main hangar bays (mounted on port and starboard Macross cannon modules) and 4x auxiliary hangar bays (located at engine pods), complement includes: -VF-19OSM (until 2069) -VF-32 (since 2069) -VB-6 -C-20 Rabbit II Development history: The Order of Saint Mark developed the OSM Christ Pantocrator in the early 2060's as a response to the effective deployment of the SMS Macross Quarter during the 2059 Vajra War. Inclusion of Protoculture and Vajra technologies was a driving factor in the design, which includes a fold reactor and super fold drives, all made possible by fold quartz deposits in the planetary system where Alexandria is located. The OSM Christ Pantocrator was built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in Alexandria and launched in 2065. Note: the design is inspired by a draft design of the Macross Quarter (which I think looked better than the final design), the UNSC frigates from the Halo video games and of course the final Macross Quarter design.
  3. Why not use Meteor instead? It is basically the modern equivalent to the AIM-152 and could theoretically be integrated on the F/A-18 Hornet.
  4. You have a point, but as the tip of a blade has a smaller area than the fist of the VF, then the force exerted when thrusting the blade will be more concentrated than punching with a fist, which will need more energy in the punch to produce the same effect as the blade.
  5. Just my 2 cents, the fanservice gear of Walkure (the rocket panties, bra and transparent suit) is one of the nonsense things I don't like in Delta. Being a combat unit, Walkure should use EX-Gear with holographic projectors attached to them, it provides better protection.
  6. Actually, it is supposed to be a 2060's equivalent to a Mk. 18 CQBR, as it appears to be of a similar size and design to the SCAR or CZ 805. Here is my take on its design: I made up some of the details, as the carbine in the show is poorly-drawn and I had to add details that it should have, such as iron sights on the carrying handle, a Picatinny rail for optics and M-Lok slots for other accessories.
  7. For the record, some of those guns such as Messer's rifle apparently use caseless ammunition. The G36 lookalike also probably does as well.
  8. Order of Saint Mark VF-32A with Super Pack and VF-32S with Armor pack: VF-32A Super Pack: VF-32S Armor Pack: Both the Super and Armor packs for the VF-32 are similar in design to those of the VF-25 Messiah but feature reaction turbine engines rather than rocket motors as on other kinds of Super and Armor packs for other variable fighters. They both can be used in an atmosphere or in space, though the Armor Pack reduces the VF-32's top speed in an atmosphere. The Armor Pack also includes 2 PPB-enhanced swords for close-quarters mecha combat.
  9. Now for something different, did anyone notice that Mirage's pistol (seen in episode 22) looks like a Walther PP?
  10. Sukhoi VF-32 Viper (from my upcoming Macross Alexandria fanfic universe) in Order of Saint Mark colors: VF-32A Viper: VF-32S Viper: RVF-32A Viper: Updated specifications and description, made with new information from Delta in mind: Manufacturer: St. Barbara Arsenal of Alexandria Accommodation: Pilot (in EX-Gear), optional second seat for passenger (RVF-32A has accommodation for pilot and RIO in EX-Gear) Dimensions: Fighter: length 18.6 m, wingspan 14.25 m, height 4.8 m (landing gear deployed) GERWALK: height 10.35 m Battroid: height 15.6 m (16.95 m with head cannons included) Mass: 8400 kg empty Power plant: 2 x General Electric FF-3004 Stage II thermonuclear reaction turbine engines, 2100 kN thrust each (2110 kN for VF-32S), many x Aerojet Rocketdyne HMM-11 vernier thrusters Performance: Mach 5.5+ at 10000 m ISC max G-load: 31 G Armament: Guns: 1 x St. Barbara Arsenal BGP-20 Heavy Quantum Beam gun pod 2 x Sentinel HBC/HS-35B 35 mm beam guns 2 x Rheinmetall RÖV-25 25 mm beam guns 2 x (4 x in VF-32S model) Rheinmetall RÖV-127C 12.7 mm head turret beam guns Bombs and missiles: 4 x leg micro missile launchers (2 launchers each leg), 12 missiles per launcher, 48 missiles total 4 x wing hardpoints for various missiles, bombs, drop tanks, etc. Other: Pinpoint barrier system 1 x shield 1 x retractable PPB-enhanced knife (shield-mounted) 1 x self-protection fold jammer system (high-powered fold jammer in RVF-32A) 2 x PPB-enhanced swords (mounted in Armor Pack boosters), only available with Armor Pack Optional equipment: Super Pack system Armor Pack system Fold booster Development history: The VF-32 Viper was developed by Sukhoi and manufactured by St. Barbara Arsenal of Alexandria for the Order of Saint Mark to replace the VF-19OSM in OSM service since 2046 (the VF-19's have been transferred to the NUNS forces in Alexandria). The VF-32 is derived from the YF-24 but has some features from the YF-30 and VF-31, such as the beam gunpod and some electronics. It was designed to exceed the Surya Aerospace VF-31 Kairos in performance, though it does not have the VF-31's modular container system. Unlike other 5th-generation variable fighters, the VF-32 features a wrap-around cockpit in all modes, just like the preceding VF-19, allowing for superior situational awareness for the pilot. The VF-32's add on modules, the Super Pack and Armor Pack are both capable of atmospheric use, though the VF-32's speed is reduced when using the Armor Pack in an atmosphere. The VF-32's prototype, the YF-32 first flew from the Uraga class carrier St. Mina in 2066 and the production VF-32 entered service in 2069. VF-32 variants: VF-32A - standard model VF-32S - commander model, with trimmed-up engines and battle management AI RVF-32A - AEW&C/EW model, with AESA radar/fold sensor and high-powered fold jammer and second EX-Gear for RIO
  11. As I see it, the reason why it took a nose dive after episode 13 is that it is originally supposed to be only 13 episodes long, then they decided to make it 26 episodes. The change means that the crew have to rush production of the additional episodes, to the detriment of the episodes' quality.
  12. Looks kinda like the Rafael Spice guidance/wing kit for Mk. 80 family bombs.
  13. Post Macross Frontier era (2060's) Uraga carrier NUNS Vandeglift CVS-761: Here is the final iteration of my Uraga drawing, with an airwing consisting of the VF-25 Messiah variable fighter (in NUNS VF-171 colors) and the VB-6 König Monster variable bomber.
  14. I only noticed it when someone who commented on a post from a Macross page on Facebook pointed it out.
  15. Got this idea from a Facebook comment: Heinz Winderemere's outfit, especially before he was proclaimed king, does look very familiar: And yes, like Heinz, that statue is of a boy too (Sto. Niño/Child Jesus).
  16. Understanding by Novaliches Mob (a Filipino hip-hop song): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoGQFnBcLfA
  17. In fairness in the Macross universe music is already long established to be a weapon of mass DIstraction and DEestruction. Though your analogy does make sense though.
  18. The range is similar to the AIM-120D but Meteor has a larger no-escape zone due to the use of a ramjet engine. Meteor would have been a good replacement for the AIM-54 Phoenix (there was a replacement program for the Phoenix, with proposed designs that are similar to Meteor but it had been canceled).
  19. There was a scene where two VF-31A's engage a SV-262, and the VF-31's apparently use their arm cannons in Fighter mode.
  20. Real life breaches of export control laws have resulted in the entire company involved getting fined for the actions of a few employees. Though not with the corrupt NUNS
  21. Regarding Epsilon and Berger playing both sides, as they claimed to have NUNS authorization, but were selling defense equipment to Windermere (which has a trade embargo), I bet they will lose their license, as such action would be a violation of export control laws.
  22. It would be much better to use the MBDA Meteor instead, the Meteor is a superior missile to AMRAAM and is also being integrated with the F-35 as well.
  23. If Windermere is Delta's equivalent to WWII Germany (with some ideas from WWII Japan thrown in), I bet Epsilon would be in a similar role to Sweden, which supplied equipment to both sides. Another thing is that the SV-262 is inspired by the Saab J-35, a Swedish fighter, and the rifles used by NUNS and Windermere resemble the Bofors Ak 5 rifle with a HK G36 carrying handle.
