  1. The VF-19F and S that came out in this release are just awesome. The VF-24 is really well done too, Impulse just posted an impressive video of it in action; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss0lV_aiFkk Now someone just needs to make an ice world trench run map...
  2. Crossbone Gundam is one of the best mecha comics ever put to paper.
  3. Bandai really botched the Macross 7 merchandising. That show was practically printing money for them when it was on the air, and it featured more Valkyries than all the previous shows combined, yet we got such a sparse offering of toys and models. Where is my Fz-109 Bandai?! WHERE IS IT?
  4. I was really happy to see that he included the VF-19P in this last release. Of all the RSS feeds I subscribe to, his is the one that I look forward to the most. Also the VF-19F and S from Macross 7 are going to be in his next release. He is also working on the AIF-9V (Macross Galaxy), and AIF-7S (NUNS & SMS) Ghosts for a near term release. His next ground-up fighters are going to be the VF-1 and the YF-21/VF-22.
  5. Also that timeline directly contradicts Kawamori's claim that the in-universe DYRL is not the same as Macross: DYRL. It also ignores everything written here; http://macross.anime.net/story/encyclopedi...ar_i/index.html I was watching that thread, and that anonymous eventually did one more revision that and took into account the ambiguity of space war I canon. Also Macross: 2036 and Eternal Love Song are for the NEC PCEngine Super CD. Both are awesome, and cheap to pick up on Ebay.
  6. Every time uTorrent picks up a new Remastered M7 release via RSS I cheer for joy. Seriously, I am watching this for the first time in a decade and I forgot just how insanely awesome this show is. The big difference this time around is that the quality is astounding, when I was watching on VHS I never realized just how good the art is.
  7. It might be worth checking google's cache of alt.fan.macross, I remember that particular information being posted there at some point.
  8. Or it could be a simple re-branding to fit with the times. Until Kawaomori or Chronicle says otherwise, all this speculation is in the realm of fan fiction.
  9. The conflict was between a rogue fleet, and a rogue general (working with terrorists and the critical path corporation). A failed coup de etat just doesn't seem like a reasonable explanation. For all we know NUNS might simply be a half-century facelift. The stensiled "U.N. SPACY" in block caps was SO 2000's. Mabe the italicized N.U.N.S. in a modern typeface, with the crescent is more in line with the design sensibilities of 2050. Kidding aside, until Kawamori says what's up, I'd be wary of making claims about VF-X2's events cuasing the collapse/restructuring of the UN Government, as it is oft repeated across the tubes.
  10. Does anyone have the VF-9 yet? It'd be interesting to see it's measurements, since there aren't any official dimensions listed on the compendium on in the M3 supplemental materials.
  11. VF-4 is at the top of my list Fire Valkyrie, Elgerzorene, Blazer, and Nightmare aren't far behind.
  12. Creating an alternate universe gives new staff a blank slate to work with, and removes constraints created by the existing narrative. It's worked well for Gundam, writers have been able to go completely crazy (G Gundam) while keeping the UC universe relatively in line with Tomino's vision.
  13. The ghost in the new version is just mental!
  14. Thats around the same price as the 1/144 scale Gundam Fix Figuration series. If they can pull off the same level of detail, I wouldn't care if the transformation required some parts removal.
  15. Nah, what the franchise needs to do is branch out into a broader metaseries allowing for non-Kawamori projects, but relegating them to alternate universes/timelines. Keep the main timeline for projects with Kawamori's involvement, it's his baby, nobody else should have their fingers in that pie without his consent.
  16. I attribute it to Robotech fans who think (incorrectly) that Macross is serious business. Come on people; It's a show about a hot-blooded dude who flys around in a giant transforming robot jet and shoots rock'n'roll laser beams at space monsters. Just look at the ridiculous over-analyzing of Basara that is going on in this very thread. You guys should step out of your current mindsets and read this thread, it's hilarious. ps. I find it ironic that Macrossworld is one of the few places I've seen with rampant M7 hate. On general-purpose mecha boards, Macross 7 is widely regarded as top-tier and/or required viewing.
  17. Just throwing in my two cents, the Zeta Gundam BluRay set looks amazing and I would kill to get my hands on a Macross set that is given the same loving treatment.
  18. Yeah, alt.fan.macross was awesome. I remember when HG first dropped the cease and desist order on Toycom, the hatred was palpable.
  19. I wasn't responding to one of your posts. So are you saying my opinion is wrong or are you just trolling a thread about a show you don't like? Either way, I'll never understand why M7 haters put so much time and energy into something they don't like. Seriously, if you don't like a show, don't watch it, but why take time our of your life to post about it every time a thread comes up?
  20. Seriously, watching this is like watching Macross 7 again for the first time (helps that I haven't watched the whole thing in 5 or 6 years). I'm pleasantly surprised at how good the art is, for some reason I don't remember it being this nice.
  21. Here's the thing I've noticed, people who mistakenly thing Macross is SERIOUS BUISNESS end up hating Macross 7, and are same people that incessantly bitched about the lighthearted elements of Frontier. Hell, they'd probably hate the original series too if they were to watch it without nostalgia goggles. If you can't stand a show with an over the top plot, characters, and weapons; you might as well just skip it. Walk into it with the same expectations of realism you'd have for a super robot show and you'll understand why so many people love the poo out of it.
  22. Basically all I got out of that is "Boo-hoo, I didn't like Macross 7".
  23. Is that considered canon? He lacks any zolan physical characteristics.
  24. I think that they are anonymous from a galaxy network imageboard. Once they heard that Frontier didn't allow implants, they decided to troll the living poo out of it. Basically they're just doing it for the lulz.
  25. WRT54GL is an awesome device; lots of 3rd party Linux based firmware available that give it a lot of advanced features that are usually only available in commercial grade units. Besides that it's only like $50 up here in Canada, so probably even cheaper in the US. I've been running Tomato firmware on mine for like 6 months without having to reset it. http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato
