  1. I saw Suicide Squad was leaked as Rocksteady's next game a while back, very cool trailer, very fun. Once again, this has got to be outside Arkham continuity, Deadshot was white in the Arkham series, so at least they aren't beholden to that universe they already built. I need more details, WB is already doing their own coop Arkham style game, announced today as well, gotta see how the two differ, maybe full four player coop and no RPG nonsense in Suicide Squad?
  2. I absolutely love the Batman Arkham games, the whole series is nearly perfect, I even loved Origins and it's doomed multiplayer mode, I got every achievement for every game. I don't know how to feel about Gotham Knights. It's definitely as WB promised, it's not a sequel to Arkham Knight, Bruce died at the end of that, so this seems to be a soft reboot almost, it's obviously using the visual style and aesthetic from the Arkham games. Gameplay looks to be about the same as well, the predator takedown sections and the combat seems to be the same free flow style as well. It's the just numbers, the RPG stuff, I just don't know how to feel about that. I played the Marvels Avengers beta and it's exceptionally meh, I really, really hope this isn't that, another live service beat'em up game, with loot, and heavy repetition, and micro transactions.
  3. Nobody is angry or shocked, as you said and as everyone has already acknowledged, that's clearly the direction Takara is and has been going, it's just every new release a lot of folks like to air their grievances with the line, and their disappointment that this was a line many were buying before, and are not now due to a distinct change in aesthetic and design direction. I'm honestly super happy with the Siege stuff I've purchased. I didn't plan of getting anything from Siege, I don't do mainline stuff, MP only and I finished my collection a while ago now. but Siege has been fantastic, design and aesthetic. I think Siege gave birth to one of the finest mainline figures ever released, Jetfire/Skyfire. Honestly, if I didn't already have FansToys Phoenix/Skyfire/Jetfire, I probably wouldn't flinch too much at using Siege Skyfire/Jetfire as an MP stand-in, Siege has been a really fantastic line of figures, I haven't bought in on and been happy with mainline Transformers since Prime.
  4. Oh no, the original was pulling for $700-900 on average on the aftermarket, I don't think when this one sells out it will climb that high that quickly, but it will definitely be well above retail when it sells out, Most MonsterArts non-Gozilla baddies sell out quick, and blow up in price quicker on the aftermarket, finding Godzilla baddies on clearance hasn't happened since Moguera.
  5. Better to grab one now at retail if you want one then wait and it sells out, once this one's gone aftermarket prices will be back at $600+ in no time. I grabbed mine, zero chance I'm missing out again.
  6. Lego NES finally arrived, definitely looking forward to this build. I can't decide if I want the grand piano next, or the 89 Batmobile.
  7. It's this. I get that perspective, really, really bringing the toon to life, being able to pick it up and move and transform it, it's just not something I've ever had an interest in. Watching the cartoon as a kid I knew the cartoon was crappy looking, my parents mentioned it often enough, a lot of cartoons were crappy looking, in my mind they obviously looked "real" in real life. Clean lines, clean logos and paint, they looked like real cars in vehicle mode, with all that real detail sprinkled throughout their G1 cartoon silhouette. I never wanted toys that looked like the cartoon as a kid or now, I wanted and like them to look how they would have looked in real life. I know a lot of folks are tired of this opinion, but I liked the Hasui stuff better, aesthetically both modes were pretty much exactly what I wanted out of a Masterpiece G1 toy. If Takara kept that style going with all of their modern techniques and engineering, I'd have purchased far less third party and I'd be far more interested in new MP news and announcements. I think Inferno did it in for me, it was just so, so plain in both modes, vehicle in particular hurt my soul, it was chrome free firetruck, save bumper.
  8. Got some mecha anime on bluray. I missed out on the Patlabor box set when it first released, definitely couldn't miss out on the July restock.
  9. Does True Lies count? True Lies is great, and Jamie Lee Curtis is a beyond real, drop-dead gorgeous bombshell in it.
  10. Done and done, Lego Nintendo console ordered.
  11. I finished the new season earlier today, loved it, really fun, great energy throughout, great soundtrack too. Definitely a bit slow in the first few episodes, a lot of stage setting, then really picks up. Definitely a great finale, really looking forward to season 3.
  12. Yeah I got my platinum last week, the trophies are cake, like Horizon Zero Dawn, which I like. Eventually we'll get a New Game+ with a hardest difficulty trophy, I'll return to the game then, maybe do Kurosawa mode for the whole run.
  13. Yeah I saw some in hand pics yesterday that I was hoping weren't real, appears they definitely were. Also, apparently the suit is really bad, the guy who got his early had to remove a bunch of cotton from the suit to make it sightly less terrible.
  14. Yeah my Figuarts Endgame Thanos already looks almost exactly like that, I bought the Takasa Tony Thanos arm and sword kit, so yeah, basically identical already. I take it Fat Thor is a regular release, the previous one was TWE, this one will probably be easier to get, only difference I'm seeing is lightning effects, so another pass for me as well. Just give us the damn Endgame Iron Patriot already, that's the big one most fans are waiting on.
  15. Yeah that piano is pretty incredible, but pricey, I'll have to think about this one. Chill Lego, you're doing too much cool stuff.
  16. I guess I mostly forgot about all that, I wasn't as in to X-Men at the time. I remember the MvC disappointment, I never really noticed the deliberate lack of other merch. I'm glad we're beyond all that, X-Men toys are really having a new golden age right now, everyone is doing some amazing X-Men stuff. I'd like to see a Mezco Nightcrawler, I'm hoping Gambit is solid.
  17. The original release was $230, priciest Monsterarts release at the time. Still baffled KotM Ghidorah cost what it did for what we got.
  18. Monsterarts Biollante is up at BBTS, get her while you can, I'm sure she'll eventually sell out again and be back at $800+ in no time. I think $295 is fairly reasonable, it's certainly above her original retail, but that was years ago, non-refundable deposit as well, she's big and expensive though so that's fine by me. https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/131016
  19. I got my four sets almost two weeks ago. I requested a shipping update to UPS, paid the new invoice, got them just a few days later.
  20. I'm in for Bishop, he looks good. Remember a few years back when Mezco said no mutants? I'm glad that was BS.
  21. To be fair Halo Infinite was never really promised to be a graphical show stopper, or powerhouse, it was just promised as the next Halo. I think it looks good for what it is, open world, it's no longer linear levels, and apparently the world is massive. 343 was also targeting frames, 4k 60fps on Xbox, none of Sony's stuff has been promised at 60fps, they're still caught up in higher resolutions and 30fps, which is meh, I want 60fps standard for next gen. And I'm not really seeing any immediate reason to say PS will dominate early next gen already, what are they releasing on PS5 at launch, Miles Spidey? Everything else Sony announced is years away just like Microsoft. I think early next gen will be sparse on exclusives, it'll be on third party devs to keep people's consoles running. I'm hyped for State of Decay 3, I put hundreds of hours into 1 and 2, jank and all, it's easily one of the best zombie series out now. Halo we'll see, I honestly never got through 4 or 5, I have no idea where the story is at now.
  22. It looked great for the most part, I love the sculpt, accessories and articulation, I meant terrible as in QC issues. I had really poorly applied paint in a number of areas, and the legs and ab joints were incredibly loose, I applied some clear nail polish but it only helped a bit. I think a lot of Mafex figures look great, I've just had a lot of really bad QC issues across a number of different figures from them. I think their AstroBoy was one of the worst figures I've ever purchased, as far as QC is concerned. I paid a premium for Rogue One Vader after it sold out, once again it looked great, but mine had bad paint on the helmet, loose legs, a broken hand peg, and one of the arms has a thinner peg that made it fall off constantly. I've been tempted, but I do Mezco for comic stuff, their stuff isn't completely accurate, but I like the stylized classic comic style stuff they do. The Batman revealed above looks great, but I'll definitely wait on reviews, a premium TAS Batman is definitely something I'm interested in.
  23. Understood, and agreed. If you're not into MCU stuff, you're probably not bothering with Figuarts these days, that seems to be the only hero stuff Bandai is into. Mafex is definitely catering to the comic fan market at this point, they do live action and MCU, but they're never in a rush. That could be why I've had such horrible luck with Mafex, it seems a lot of the comic based stuff is pretty solid, most of their other stuff seems shoddy at best to terrible at worst. Star Wars, Kingsman, AstroBoy, Evangelion, Justice League, Dark Knight, all the figures from those properties I've gotten from Mafex have been mostly terrible, shoddy at best, all regrettable purchases. I got the comic colored Spidey after seeing so many positive reviews of the original release, but that figure was terrible too, apparently the original release was much better. I don't know, Mafex is so expensive now, if I want comic based stuff I'll just spend the extra on Mezco One:12 instead.
  24. I mean, not really, they're just doing a lot of stuff that Bandai Figuarts isn't doing. Bandai isn't doing comic inspired stuff, and they haven't done anything Batman outside the live action films and that goofy Ninja Batman anime. That Batman looks rather skimp on accessories, I wonder if there is more included that isn't shown? Mafex usually includes far more stuff to try to justify that crazy $70+ per figure they charge now. I have the full line of Batman TAS stuff, vehicles and Batcave too, but I'd definitely take a higher quality, better articulated Animated Bats, I just don't do Mafex anymore these days because I've gotten a ton of garbage from them. I don't think I'll be pre-ordering, their stuff doesn't sell out and can be had for retail at release, I'm definitely waiting on reviews from now on before giving Mafex any more money.
