  1. It looks like it's at a river bank. Doesn't look like it'll float.
  2. There are two steps in the mass production: parts and assembly. I was asking more of the parts side. What's the minimum quantity that is made per run? Is there a lower limit? Is it high? The assembly part should not be a factor. It's easy to switch without additional cost. I don't mean eating into the seller's profit. Because the valks sell at US$150, the sellers have no incentive to reduce their cost.
  3. No idea on the production runs. I'm wondering about the colored valkyries, like the Max/Millia VF and CF. Do they have to be on separate runs from the white VFs? If so, the chances of a reissue is lower. Or is it that changing color doesn't incur much cost? On the price, I'm sure it can be lower than US$150, but the sellers have no incentive to do so. How low can the price be? When the 1/48 first came out, it was available in HK at retail for US$100. (I've no idea the current price.) Let's say distributor price is 20% cheaper, so that's US$80. And suppose you ship by economical surface shipping, those container type, not regular mail, the shipping should be much cheaper than what individual buyers can get. Thus, we'll looking at US$100 + profit. (All figures are plucked out of my ass. Just thinking aloud.)
  4. The 1/48 valkyries are not a limited edition, with the exception of the Low-vis. So, none of them are collectable to begin with. If you want collectibility, wait for the molds to be lost/worn out.
  5. You still can get them at The Right Stuf for $40 per box. Limited quantities left. I might have considered the ADV new version, if I hadn't got the Animeigo version already.
  6. One comment on the scale: Big West could have simplified the scale by making the VF-0 about the same size as VF-1, so that they can make a 1/48 model of it easily. Instead, they can only make a 1/60 model which is bigger than the 1/48 VF-1 and confuses the hell out of everyone. Personally, I feel 1/60 works better when you take all the non-VF-1 into account. Right now everyone is demanding everything to be in 1/48, which is impossible to deliver. Big West could change the VF-1 dimensions so that the 1/48 model now becomes the 1/60 model! That would solve everything!
  7. Oh no, please not, not after Macross Zero! I prefer to keep the past as I remember them. My prediction is repackaging or limited edition repaints. A simple "25th Anniversary" logo will send hardcore fans buying the toys they own one more time.
  8. I thought Amazon would have honour it. But even so, it's very likely they would give some rebate points as compensation.
  9. Costumes are good, but I never choke when I saw "Minmay"! How come there are only three cosplayers? Are they winners? Or are they hired? Either way doesn't seem likely.. (just look at them) There's only one answer: there are only 3 Macross cosplayers in Shanghai!
  10. hmm.. that's my image you linked to. Here's a shot of the pages. Quite a lot of pictures and colorful, but nothing memorable. As for my own copy that is up for sale, the book/box is in excellent condition, but as I have mentioned to you before, the figure is at best in fair condition. But even if it were in excellent condition, I would still get rid of it! (Too much Macross stuff, got to trim the excess.)
  11. Got my set finally. I was told there is one "translucent" hair Minmay per box, it's either that or the chase-Max, so how can anyone miss that? But having to hold against the light to see it, looks to me like QC than a real chase.
  12. You are referring to the AonE 1.4 GB version? The filename says it's XviD.
  13. Is the order fixed within one outer box like CMS 1 and 2? I'll like to check if I have the chase figures quickly, rather than open 12 inner boxes.
  14. It's an important lesson: never render before the storyboard's done, and never give the video priority over the story. It would end up like FF7:AC rather than The Incredibles.
  15. Have you tried automated IVTC? Are you sure it doesn't work? Stepping through PowerDVD I seem to see the 3-2 pattern (if I recall correctly).
  16. Apparently Southern Cross and Mospeada are still available at The Right Stuff at the "regular" price of $24.99, no UPC cutup business.
  17. What's the idea with cutting up the UPC code? $15 is so cheap, I feel so cheated. I don't mind paying full price for Mospeada, but Southern Cross..
  18. The folder icons that are in red, blue and other colors on the leftmost column, can it be changed to something else? A hot topic, in red icon, looks like it's been locked! Very confusing.
  19. Wherever you get this impression, it's definitely not from the above photo! I usually don't look at the real actor/actress to avoid spoiling the illusion. You know, people usually sound much better than they look.
  20. I'm jealous of some of your strips! I think I'm going to create one myself by shooting them on slides!
  21. Kaifun is Minmay's cousin in the tv series, and recasted as her brother in DYRL. This is to simplify the love triangle for a 1-1/2 hour movie.
  22. That's because you never considered that there is bulit-in microning technology built into the entrance/exit points.
  23. Isn't there supposed to be a figure that will pair with Barasa and Mylene, and Sara/Mao respectively?
  24. Damn, I hope the cockpit figure is different from CMS #2. Otherwise it would lose its meaning of the secret figure.
  25. It's from 2003, so it's old, but not vintage. But if you haven't got it, then it's new.
