Just a note. HLJ sells the seaside set for 4200 yen. This is way higher than the norm on Yahoo Japan -- 1600 yen to 2100 yen. Didn't realize it until too late. (Of course, once you add in deputy fees, the difference isn't so striking.)

Wasn't it mentioned here before that the solid color Minmay is the variant? You can always air-brush to the solid color..

After CMs 1 and 2, I have figured out the cheapest way to get the figures. (I paid a hefty sum for part 1. You'll think I would have learnt for part 2, but I'm a slow learner. ) If you are interested in all ten figures, preorder a box of 10 with a Japanese webstore of your choice asap, ship by SAL (slow but much cheaper) and pray that you don't get the secret figure. Then buy the secret figure separately (~US$30). The reason to preorder is to avoid a out-of-stock situation. However, part 2 is still around after two months, this may not be a problem anymore. Part 1 was sold out the day it was released? Opened figures are going to be more expensive. Paying a premium makes no sense because the packing order is so predictable. (Let's hope it keeps that way for part 3 and onwards.) If you got the secret figure, it might be harder to buy the loose figure that you missed out on, but it can be done. If you are interested in just the normal figures, it's cheaper to buy opened sets, although you pay a slight premium. Box of ten = 5800 yen = US$52.93. Set of 5 = $26.47. Opened sets = $25 to $35.

With all the box shakers around, these are the last two figures you expect to be around. Very good fortune!

But it's way too pricy. $2 for one cube? If it's $0.50 per cube, I might get a bunch of them.

But Yamato does not sell directly to American dealers, so they are not the ones who earn. The middleman are the ones who marked up the price. I'm confident if Yamato toys have an official distributor, they would be cheaper than anywhere else in the world. Of course, not going to happen because of you-know-who.

Minmay looks like she's going to give the finger! Some collectors like variants, this is for them! Since they are extremely limited, they may be very expensive in the future.. even more than the secret figures?

Not being a Evangelion fan, I think I'll skip all these new releases. The only one that I like (and am getting) is the seaside set of 3 figures. Here is what I think of the other releases: Evangelion HG School Uniform Figure ver 2 (released and sold out): Rei's skirt is really too short. Doesn't really look like Rei. Evangelion EX Summer Beach Figure (Rei/Asuka in bikini): I prefer more clothing. Evangelion EX School Swimsuit: Swimsuits do nothing for me. I prefer normal outfits. Evangelion Collection Figure Pajamas Time: partially exposed breasts are too ecchi for me. Looks too high up too. Evangelion Collection Figure Onsen Time - Rei Asuka Misato: I like Rei's pose, and that pen-pen is underwater in the Misato's figure. However, I don't like Misato and Asuka wrapped in towels. (I like normal outfits.) Evangelion Collection Figure Take care of yourself - 3 pieces: Rei and Asuka does not look like themselves. Liked their poses otherwise. Doubt I will display Kaworu. Evangelion Collection Figure - Party Time- 3 pieces: very nice! Must.. stop.. looking.. at.. Rei's.. dress.. Don't really like Asuka's pose here. I like the fact that there are tables and gifts. Evangelion EX Pajamas Time 2 pieces: better than the other pajamas set. I like this one, but am thinking how to display them. (I generally prefer standing figures) Evangelion EX Christmas Figure 2 pieces: Rei looks like a race queen (which is good), but Asuka, she's over the edge -- what kind of Christmas wear is that? Okay, so in the end I may end up getting two more sets! (Shouldn't have looked through all the sets in detail. )

But since it's Evangelion, wouldn't they at least take the popularity into account and have a larger run? I want the seaside set of 3 figures and the school uniform with tables.. but both are sold out! The uniform w/ tables set, it was released in Feburary this year. Wasn't interested in it until the Minmay diorama came out.. then suddenly I had table fetish! I don't know why the seaside set sells for only 1805 yen at Hobby Search. Other places sell double the price! Released in May, sold out in May! Both are still available, but you have to pay much more..

Why do these figures get sold out so quickly? If you didn't pre-order, it's likely you would have missed them.

It's just QC. I like the clear hair ones when the hair gives a glowing effect when backlit. Mylene, DYRL Minmay and Misa. Otherwise, no.

It's out-of-focus, I can't see anything if I wanted. We need some guidelines on photography.. no out-of-focus, no overexposure due to flash, no camera-shake, no distracting background, please. It could be as simple as taking the shot in better lighting. On the Internet, you're only as skillful as your photography skills.

Are you referring to Minmay in the sailor dress? Doesn't look like her at all.

As long as we tell the boundary between fantasy and reality, all is fine. I think it's all right to think about what-if scenario, the story is merely one possible execution, it could have ended so many ways, so why wasn't it? Was it due to story alone, time, author, sponser, political or other reasons? And if the story was changed, would it be stronger? Would it still carry the same message, or still be what we know it as? What do you call people who have an obsession with conspiracy theory? My memory is vague on Lynn Kaifun, but I didn't really get the impression Minmay liked him romantically. She rejected his marriage proposal once (she was surprised), and another time, she hallucinated that Hikaru was the one saving her, not Kaifun! Also, I think Kaifun is somewhat misunderstood. He's not so bad, even at the end. He seemed like a pretty good manager; his fault was to put Minmay's career before her own needs. Minmay has a temper of her own, and not very street-wise, and for someone to stay with her and take care of her for so long definitely takes some.. love. So, did you managed to corrupt him?

If you are willing to pay through your nose, you should be able to get the completed version. I can still find it on some websites. The price may explain why they are not sold yet.

Oh god, why does it have to be this outfit again? I was hoping for some casual wear figures.. What I like about this figure is that Minmay no longer has super long legs.

Request for images: does anyone know where to get a good group photo of the Figures Collection part 1 and part 2? Preferrably, the images are in sets of 5, at least 640x480, and well-taken. tia.

There is still an element of luck.. I took out an unopened box that could be either Minmay diorama or the cockpit (based on the position -- as mentioned in the other thread) and shook it. It "felt" heavier than its neighbour (the other Minmay diorama), and made just one sound -- the Minmay diorama has several thin pieces that produce very characteristic sounds. I opened it.. and found the Minmay diorama. For some reason, the other pieces were stuck to the box in such a way that they didn't move when I shook it. There's no 100% in life.

All these time I thought the shaking is to change the figure inside into the one you want.. aka God of Gamblers II..

Got the recent "re-casted" 1/12 minmay model and liked it very much. However, I wouldn't have gotten it if it were any more expensive. The reason is because I think this particular pose/outfit is way overused. Yes, it's very pretty, but after getting the same three Minmay in the same outfit? (1/6 PVC, CMs and this; I can't afford the 1/4 G-System Minmay ) How about this outfit? I think it looks pretty good too: Linked directly from Denversaur Models & Custom Toys. Doesn't look much like Minmay, though. Is anyone else other than me who is interested in 1/12 or 1/6 figures? I like the CMs, but they are quite small.

Why is the Report button next to the Quote button in the first place? Why not put it in the bottom row of buttons, where they are less used?

Gao Gai Gar? That rings a bell.. Gai and Mikoto figures from Gao Gai Gar I like this one very much. Not so much into robots myself. I stumbled onto this figure because CMS65001 is Macross Figure Collection 1 and I just incremented the number to see what's next.

What does it say about the person who actually does that? *cough* *cough*
