  1. I would love to see these cel shaded models from other angles and lighting scenarios and see if they still hold up. I’d love to try to do one of my kits in the cel shade style but am concerned that it can only be viewed from a specific angle and lighting scenario.
  2. At first I wasn’t too interested in this kit but seeing the photos I’m slowly coming on board. It’s looking really good.
  3. I love this! Great build and great photography.
  4. I had no idea about these Easter Eggs. Will have to try them now. Thanks!
  5. Sadly, unless there is revised interest in SDFM I would assume all the value will die with us. I imagine that all the fellow SDFM lovers are in their 40s which typically is when you would have the most purchasing power. Makes sense that the prices have risen with the purchasing power of the fan base. Not sure if the new Macross shows attract young people to SDFM, hopefully they do. That way the Macross fan base continues to expand and get younger. That would insure it’s value.
  6. Great cel! Congratulations!
  7. Beautiful work! Was this a resin kit? I’ve never seen it before.
  8. Thanks Tekering! I look forward to hearing more on the Glaug. 😊 That’s great information Sketchley, thanks! I’m going to pick up one and probably glue the joints into a pose. Cheers!
  9. I’ve always passed on this kit assuming it lacked detail and that the proportions would be off. But looking at your picture the kit looks good. I’ll probably need to pick this up now. Thanks. Indecently, does anyone know if the Bandai Glaug kit is as good, in both detail and proportions? And if so, is one scale better than the other, 1/72 vs 1/100 kit? Cheers!
  10. 1000% agree!
  11. This is looking great! Can’t wait to see it finished.
  12. I always admire anyone who pursues a collection they know will take years to complete. Best of luck! The collection looks amazing already.
  13. Thanks Everyone! These are great suggestions. I’m aiming to start the build in about three weeks when I move into my new place, so I have some time to think how I’m going to approach it. I’ll need to confirm the canopy’s cross-section but if it’s straight the “heat and smash” technique would work well. If I find that the canopy’s cross-section comes in at the bottom then building a cheap vacuum former as described would be the ideal setup. Thanks again!
  14. Thanks Jvmacross! I do have a old Rinkya account that surprisingly is still active. I’ll start there. Pm sent. Cheers!
  15. Hey Everyone, I’m a complete novice to poster collecting so I have a general question. I want to start collecting some of the vintage SDFM and DYRL posters including some of the magazine inserts. But seeing so many available on eBay makes me concerned that there are lots of fakes. Is there anyway to tell a fake or are there eBay sellers I should avoid? Also what are fair prices for many of these posters. Some of the ones I’m interested in average around $50, is that a fair price? Thanks!
  16. Looking good. Love seeing their progress from their earlier videos.
  17. Gorgeous! I love it!
  18. Hi Everyone, I’m hoping someone here can help me with this question. I’m looking to customize my Hasegawa 1/48 VF-1A/J model into a VF-1D Virgin Road. I’m confident in making the cockpit extension, updated head and panel line updates but I’m not sure how to do the canopy as I don’t have a vacuum form setup. I was hoping someone here would know if there may be another kit out there I can use. Maybe a 1/48 F-14 that would work? Or does anyone know another way to get a 1/48 canopy that would fit on a VF-1D? Thanks in advance.
  19. Hey All, Not sure if this has been posted in another thread as I couldn't find anything but this looks great. http://news.toyark.com/2016/12/15/kids-logic-robotech-16-vf-1j-cockpit-statue-233609
  20. Hi Everyone, Beautiful cels as usual, its great to see everyone's collection growing. I'm a relatively new collector, specifically Millia/Miriya cels and in my search for her I occasionally come across other Macross gems. I just thought I would share some links to these Macross cels for sale. Now I have no affiliation with any of these sites, in fact I've never even ordered anything from them, I just came across them and thought I would share the info. I hope they help someone here find a little joy. http://www.animeed.com/macross.htm http://www.anime-link.com/macross/ Cheers.
  21. Hey Everyone, I just thought I'd share a personal project I've been working on at home in my spare time. Ever since I was little and first saw the Queadluun Rau (TV series version) I feel in love with that design. Anyhow, I've been working on this and have now been thinking about getting it printed out if it comes out good. Things are just roughed in for now, first I want to settle on the pose and then I would go in and refine the modeling. I've attached some images of my possible poses. I would be very appreciative of any critics or comments. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
  22. Looking really good. Shoot! Now I'm tempted into buying another Rau. Hmmm, I have much to think about.
  23. This is looking great! I'll have to keep an eye on your blog.
  24. This is a beautiful job Dan. Sorry to hear about the unemployment, I've been there too many times to count. For me it comes with just working in the VFX industry. Anyway, I hope you find something soon and keep working on this because it is really too good to let it waste away.
