I have no idea where my Power Armor is at the moment...but I have the Spartan handy....unfortunately, it is too big...probably closer to 1/72 in scale.... Never! plus...it works for the HMR thread because it has been kept as a "line" thread rather than breaking out each release with it's own thread....unlike the various Frontier DX and Yamato/Arcadia VF threads.....thus you just can get away with posting the release list at the top of the one and only available thread for the HMR line....

Good point....I also have the 1/100 kits but I have never built them....I wonder if they run bigger than the 1/100 Takatoku Destroid in my group shot? Does anyone have both to compare their sizes?

yes...kinda odd since the variation among the Zentran/Meltran is so diverse and apparent...and not just "human" type of diversity.....it is pretty exaggerated among the different ranks......it deserves an official explanation....but I'm OK without it...seems pretty obvious to me....barring the use of cloning technology to "reproduce"...they probably would have homogonized to more human-like size ranges.....but the great disparity in sizes, to me, indicates that the original intent was to serve a specialized role....continuation of cloning to reproduce has kept their sizes the same as originally engineered....just a theory at the moment I suppose..

I thought that is what this thread was for? http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=29393

The Takatoku Destroid Conversion set was listed as 1/100...but I hope Bandai upscales theirs a bit to match the above line art...the top of the Destroid should come up to about the midddle of the chest of the VF-1.....
  6. Is there any new book associated with the event?

The Zentrans and Meltrans were biologically engineered to do whatever job the Protoculture needed from them....thus the wide range of sizes, colors, and flavors... You don't modify the mecha to fit the soldier...you modify the soldier to fit the mecha.... With that said, we would just need a figure that fits the cockpit of the HMR Regult and it would have worked if Bandai had not built the details inside of it in a scale that doesn't match the rest of the Regult... it's like the Regult is 1/100 but the cockpit details are 1/72....in a way it is Bandai's nod to anime magic!

Did this get posted? Had not seen it before....
  9. I like the images that give you a better sense of the scale between them....it's amazing how much bigger the newer capital ships are compared to the original SDF-1
  10. Yep....that pic never gets old... But thanks for linking his site...never seen his other works...amazing stuff...are there any others that create professional images like that?
  11. Only site for books in Japan that you can buy from directly that I know of is Amazon Japan and some of the shops that also sell toys like AmiAmi and HLJ....anything else you'd have to use a proxy buyer...
  12. Do any of those shops have an online retail presence? If so, can you provide some links?

  14. The "third" one is actually the first one released...as far as I can tell....it seems to cover SDFM/DYRL/M7... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=29133&p=1251185 So these are the covers to the 3 books in this series so far: So which one are you still missing?

The art on the cards is custom "Robotech" art.... It is the same "art" that was originally created for the Toynami "masterpiece" collection of 1/55 VF-1's.

Looks really good, but no amount of anime sorcery will make a 1/100 Zentran figure fit into a 1/100 HMR Regult.....are you going to offer it as a Plastic Cretins product? It's ironic that it is all the detail that is keeping a 3 3/4" (1/100?) figure from squeezing into the cockpit....I think it is actually big enough if it were mostly hollow....or much smaller internal details...

    Hi-Metal R

Yeah....they probably would work too....anyone have some to put them next to an HMR valk for scale comparison?
  18. Just noticed that the Nexx bundle also comes with a display base...but not the Faerie bundle....

...Gundam and Macross.....living together.....Mass hysteria!!!! So I went ahead and bought a pack of the 1/100 Bandai Gunpla Builders figurines....not bad....scales really well with the Macross HMR line....hopefully some Macross editions will be made....for now these will do well in HMR dioramas...

    Needs more anime magic....
  24. Thanks! So that is what you used to "tighten" the leg slots where the arm tabs slide into? I'll look for it this weekend. Thanks again for the tips!
  25. Thanks! So for some one that is trying this for the first time...what is more "goof-proof" future or clear nail polish? I'm thinking nail polish would be easier since it already has the "brush"...but what works best for the newbies....especially in terms of the VF-2SS? And what of the tailwing tabs...is there any hope?
