I think it would be a fair assumption.....much less and way better in terms of finish, accessories and gimmicks.... I hope this turns out to be Bandai's flagship collectible for their Macross 35th Anniversary lineup.....although I'd be happy if we get the 1/35th VF-1.....or why not both? And if they release a 1/3000-ish instead....it will definitely be cheaper

You should now be a step closer to doing this one....think you still need a VF-1D...coming soon I'm sure

* The picture is for nostalgic high purposes only. HM-R(espect).... Bring on the Super O!!! (well.....Tomahawk and Phalanx first please!)

Yes, I'm surprised. Settei by default are reproduced during the animation process and handed out to the actual animators working on the production. So technically, if you can grab a copy that was actually used during the production, it still qualifies as an authentic piece of Macross history in my opinion. I've seen sellers selling copies of the original production settei copies for a long time....most you can clearly tell are xeroxed. But, xeroxing production cels seems like a new thing and, like selling copies of settei copies, there is no effort involved in doing so. At least a really good fancel requires painting skills at minimum and you get something hand-made at the end. In the end, everyone is free to spend on what makes them happy I suppose. What Flashback settei do you have? Original one? Pic?

Development in progress!! Guess the final paint color has been a heated point of contention among the HMR staff for the last few years with the color blind members managing to hold firm on their shade of lavender-grey! Or perhaps the hold up is due to this destroid being able to actually walk on it's own and have sound and smoke effects when it shoots! It will then usher in the HMR 3.0 line with the re-release of all of them with new "super real type" gimmicks!

There's a market for xerox color copies of cels? Think I would prefer a well-made fancel if the original was not available or attainable.

Yes....in terms of KOs....the Takatoku Kanzen Henkei is arguably one of the most bootlegged toys ever made....indeed, unlicenced versions of practically all of the original schemes...and then some....were made....I myself have a VF-1A brownie KO that stood in for the original version for several years while I searched for it....an original Takatoku Kanzen Henkei VF-1A toy is one of the tougher ones to find these days....in fact, it was the last piece I found in my quest to complete my Takatoku Toys Macross collection.... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/42966-a-30-year-takatoku-macross-toy-quest…is-finally-over/

boxed or just the game?

Only the VF-1S, more or less, was released in a similar scheme as the original Takatoku Henkei.... There were no Max, Millia, Hikaru VF-1J's or the VF-1A brownie....at least not from the Convertors line you seem to be referring to.... Here are the VF's that were released from that line....incidentally they all use the VF-1S mold....

Looks like they are going for more of the bumpy Suzuki look than the smooth Takani/Tenjin look...

I have a lot of stuff waiting for shipment at AE.....they seem to hold stuff indefinitely....can anyone chime in with how long you have actually been able to hold stuff at AE before being asked to ship it? If I can hold stuff there till December, I was thinking I may as well place my regult missile set orders at AE since I have most of my HMR POs for the remainder of the month with them...including non-HMR stuff....

So the Tomahawk and Phalanx in 2018 right Bandai? Right?!?!? Now that 2-packs are an HMR thing........ 2-pack VF-1EX Hayate and Mirage? 2-pack TV VF-1A Max and Kakizaki? A single DYRL Hikaru VF-1A release...or....3-pack Hikaru, Max, and Kakizaki VF-1A set? Or how about a 2-pack VF-1A DYRL Hikaru and Max and a 2-pack DYRL Kakizaki VF-1A and VF-1S Max? (forcing you to buy the set!!!) Then DYRL launch stands with SSP's so you are forced to buy multiples to arm-up your naked DYRL VF-1A's!!!
