I am not telling anyone what their experience is, just relaying my own and what seems to be that of most everyone else's whose had this toy in their possession since initial release...well except yours, of course!

I have more or less kept up with this thread, regarding KC releases including the 1/72 VF-1....I think you are the only individual that has claimed zero issues with it. Lucky!

I have pointed out that the durability of this toy is it's greatest weakness....which is why I keep saying that only time will tell if the VF-1J, which looks great just as the VF-1S did, will become another floppy mess....I hardly transformed it and it cannot hold poses, especially it's legs This has been the case with several other VF toys, regardless of who made them....the point is that this specific toy is only one release into it's run and it started off badly....it really needs to address the worst of it's issues on this next release or KC may become the next Evolution Toys in terms of VF-1's... Again, unfortunately, this toy's current performance has not made me and probably many other collectors, feel any sense of confidence on future performance...with that said, it just means that most collectors may want to hold out on buying this after it has been confirmed if improvements on durability have indeed been made

What concerns me is you have a "platform" where you can influence unsuspecting collectors regarding the long-term quality of KC's VF-1 toys.... Believe me, I want this VF-1J to be so much better than what the VF-1S proved to be, which was a floppy mess I was an early adopter for this line, but as of now my opinion is to be weary and see how the VF-1J holds up after a few months of handling. If the VF-1J proves to be no different than the VF-1S, it will not really matter how good it looks to many collectors...including myself

I was referring only to it's aesthetics...not it's fit or quality... If you are referring to fit and quality, then you can't refer to a KC VF- 1's fit and quality as anything but "poor" or worse....the VF-1S started out "fair enough" out of the box...then it degraded into a floppy mess after a few months of minimal transformations.. No doubt the VF-1J looks great...However, the only thing I am curious about the "new" KC VF-1 mold is how if fares after a dozen or so transformations....or even after just a few months in a static display pose....only after release can some light be shed onto that question... I really hope they truly made some progress in fit and quality because as much as I like the "look" of these KC VF-1's, I can't continue to support them if their VF-1J proves to be just as "poor" as their VF-1S...

Carded Macross rubber figurines.....I have not tried to confirm who made them, but they appear to be Ohsato molds....will confirm as soon as I can dig out some Ohsato figs to compare....

"looking" really good is a KC 1/72 VF-1's specialty!

STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2

I think tax is charged from an out of state web seller if the customer resides in a state that demands a tax be paid....retailer has no say unless they want to engage in illegal business practices.... If BBTS is charging you tax and Dorkside isn't...then BBTS may want to hear about it as that would be unfair competition/illegal -

Hey @Seto Kaiba any insight on whether or not the TV ARMDs have the capacity to launch VF-1s just like their DYRL counterparts? I would think that the answer is yes, but who knows... I do recall the scene from episode 1 of SDFM just after the Zentradi shoot up the ARMDs during their first encounter....we see various wreckage floating in space, including the infamous Spider Bug and a VF-1....so that would mean that it had been stationed aboard one of those ARMD....right? If so, how is it deployed? And why were the SF-3A Lancer II's deployed during that initial encounter instead of the VF-1's or both? I think an OVA telling the story of the Lancer vs. VF-1 Valkyrie would be an interesting watch. What was the thinking behind the need for the Lancer II? Clearly the Lancer II was a failure from inception.

There definitely were some squadrons based on the SDF-1 from day one (which includes launch day), the question was whether the M&M VF-1J's were stationed on the SDF-1 or Prometheus.... Here is some lineart showing VF-1's entering the SDF-1 directly, rather than via the Prometheus....
-
Thanks @Seto Kaiba I knew you would be able to shed some light into this discussion.... I know that the MF books are not "canon", but I am willing to accept their take on it for the sake of this discussion.....with that said, I am actually surprised that they made the decision to contradict the long-time tradition of every major "player" in the VF-1 game by asserting that M&M's personal VF-1Js are actually stationed aboard the SDF-1 proper. Score another one for Harmony Gold? They seem to now have cornered the market on properly painted TV-styled RMS-1 missiles and the location of VF-1 squadrons...LOL!

Sure, but only one can be valid, in terms of the actual canon or a collectible's claims to any level of authenticity. In the case of Calibre Wings, the modex blunder shows that they really weren't all that concerned about the "canon". I would be curious if any of the available data actually sheds any light on the actual "home base" for Max and Millia's VF-1J's...which, based on the timeline of events depicted on the show, seems to point to it being the Prometheus. Another thing to consider is the number of VF-1's that were aboard the SDF-1 on launch day vs. the number stationed on the Prometheus. As I said, the Prometheus and Deadelus were not originally to be part of the SDF-1. In either case, 2 VF-1J's were grabbed and re-assigned to Max and Millia...so, unless there were already a blue and a red VF-1J onboard either the Prometheus or SDF-1....or possibly salvaged from the wreckage of the ARMDs......someone had to have applied either the "Prometheus" or "SDF-1" markings once they were re-painted, thus there could only be one valid marking.....calling @Seto Kaiba

Actually....the Daedelus would have been worse as it is clearly only used for housing the Destroids..... Remember that the ARMD's were originally going to be attached to the SDF-1 in the TV version, just like in the DYRL version...not the Daedelus or Prometheus....I can only assume that they were also equipped to deploy VF-1's just as seen in DYRL....wonder if @Seto Kaiba would be able to shed some light on this? Nope....they were both introduced just prior to that event... The blue and red VF-1J's did not exist until Max and Millia flew them in those colors....that happens for sure as of Episode 27.....before the SDF-1 had taken it's final resting place....so basically while in space and based out of the only place all VF's can be based off of while in space.... After the SDF-1 crashes on Earth....they probably were still flying sorties from the Promtheus for several years until land bases were contructed... Sounds like you have a good excuse to just rewatch all of SDFM TV....lol
-
The blue and red paint schemes were created sometime between Episode 25 and before the events of episode 27.... In Episode 25....Max and Millia honeymoon aboard the blue "VR" VF-1D....In Episode 26, Millia is shown wearing an officer's uniform, so perhaps Max and Millia already had their special VF-1J's painted up in their "colors"....by Episode 27, Max and Millia are blowing up Zentradi forces in their blue and red VF-1J's.... With that said, it makes sense that their VF-1J's are part of the various squadrons stationed on the Prometheus....perhaps you are thinking of post-episode 27 when their VF-1J's were possibly stationed elsewhere...

RO respected the "sacred" source material.... TM had no choice but to be great after the ST shat on everything that came before it....then realizing the mistake, over-compensated by trying to throw as much OT-cred as it possibly could to try and recover.....whoever came up with Baby Yoda should be in charge of Lucasfilm for Disney
