Takatoku Toys Small Vinyl 2-pack This is the first and only addition to Takatoku's small vinyl collection that was a multipack, window boxset of two! The set consists of a VF-1J and a Regult. It is the exact same pieces that Takatoku included in a few of their 4-pack window box sets and also as individually bagged singles. This particular piece is the hardest one to get in the small vinyl collection. Besides the small vinyl VF-1J and Regult, Takatoku tossed in a small baggie containing three small keshigomu figurines. Incidentally, a similar baggies was also included with their "Battroid Variation" Hekei 3-pack. Disney gave us a similar "extended" sequence in TLJ....except it involved The First Order chasing down the Resistance for almost 2 hours....

I'm guessing "HMR" scale due to the type of stand being used to support it.....VF-0 in HMR scale = INSTABUY = PO Madness
-
That front row is only missing one actual release.... At the going rate, you may actually get your "want" before I get mine....the HMR Tomahawk and Phalanx.... .....and who is that dude standing in front of the Macross Zero display....did anyone ever spill the beans on their approximate scale? DX or HMR? I'm guessing HMR....
-
I am no expert in 3D printing so I'll take your word on it....with that said....none of the super-sized toys that have been released were in my opinion an attempt at making them better.....I think they have just been an exercise in the line of thought that by virtue of size alone "Bigger is Better"....perhaps also a bit of a nod to the old school Jumbo Machinder beasts. I guess the closest thing to what such a jumbo scaled chunky would be like....is a completely niche boutique style toy....like those super-sized vintage Star Wars carded figures....not my cup of tea....but clearly someone likes them as they keep releasing them.
-
Have you seen those mega-sized optimus primes? A similar mega-sized Chunky Monkey version would be both relatively affordable and "high quolity"! Wish I knew someone close to some of the 3P companies to see if they would pass off the idea. I am not 100% sure, but I think someone on the boards was actually trying to do such a project a long while back. I think he was going for all metal.....not sure if he ever finished that project. I am sure it would be an easy project for someone with the skills in 3D modelling software, just copy the individual 1/55 parts and super-size them to the desired scale. Woner what that would cost as a commisioned piece?
-
Agreed.....I am still waiting for a KO 3 ft "super sized" version of the chunky monkey.....they did that with the Optimus Prime......why hasn't this happened with the VF-1?!
-
The message seems to mention "2" sizes....so perhaps they are referring to DX and HMR.....makes sense when you also combine this message to their display showing VF's in different scales shown at the same show if I remember correctly.... Bandai seems to be good at "hiding" their intentions in plain sight...lol....look at their HMR VF-4....maybe we will actually get the M & M versions.... So maybe "Valkyrie Project" is a general plan across several lines that will do exactly that.....bring to life several VFs from the Macross-verse...the Macross Plus entries seem to provide some evidence towards that plan....Bandai has never been so generous with their Macross license, so if we want more, we will need to continue to speak with our wallets. My only complaint would be not sticking to a single scale... I do not mind if they never "shrink" their current DX VF-1 to match the rest of their DX lineup since the Yamato/Arcadia 1/60 fills in just about as good as it can get.
-
Worse yet, Yamato, the only company to have actually released both, additionally went with different shades of "brown"... At both 1/60 and 1/48!

I'm surprised no one has made a custom outfit like this or even the full zentran battle armor to fit onto a generic 1/6 or 1/12 figure. -
You never know....40th Anniversary of DYRL? is coming up soon......maybe they can use the molds from their last "Origin of Valkyrie" series to recreate a VE-1 and VT-1 set.....the bonus is that we would finally get pointy nosecones! Or just cross your fingers and hope Bandai makes "DX" versions if you just want bigger versions of both.
-
I think we will get the following with a high probablility: VF-1A TV Soldier with TV and DYRL head VF-1A TV Kakizaki VF-1S Roy DYRL* VF-1A Max DYRL VF-1A Hikaru DYRL * if Bandai was feeling generous, they could possibly release this with an extra "TV" head, hands, and pilots and thus release a TV/DYRL all at once...however, the HMR release for Roy's VF-1S shows this as unlikely I think we will get the following with a fair probablility: VF-1J Max TV with Super Parts VF-1J Milia TV with Super Parts VF-1S Hikaru TV with Super Parts bonus "Roy TV" pilot TV Super Parts - Standard....possibly with set of "TV" hands TV/DYRL GBP Armor with "grey" visor VF-1J head, yellow/red missiles, TV/DYRL hands, TV/DYRL pilots I feel that releasing the Max and Milia -1J's would be pointless without the Super Parts, but then again we are dealing with "sell you missiles separately" Bandai! However, if they do go with the bundle for the M & M, I think there would be a good chance of selling a Super VF-1S TV Hikaru bundle and a GBP-1J bundle with yellow and red tipped missiles, plus the "hands set" they teased a while back....Bandai would most likey select some of these bundles as websclusives. The following are just "wish" territory.......... To "end" the line......... The first ever 1/48 PT "toy" of the.... VF-1D VF-1D VR VT-1 SuperOstrich VE-1 ElintSeeker I feel 2 or more of these releases would definitely be websclusive candidates.... And with that said, what else would be left that you could honestly say Bandai was being "lazy" in not releasing? Sure you could point out that Yamato did release the VF-1A AngelBirds, VF-X, and Cavaliers....but all but one of those was originally done in conjunction with a third party. Perhaps that could happen this time around, but so far that has not happened in the realm of Bandai Macross toys. Possibly as webclusives I suppose and if they do that, may as well throw in the "Alaska Base" VF-1A. As for the "non-cannon" Yamato 1/48's...I do not have high hopes for similar Bandai releases. After the SDFM/DYRL releases, I hope Bandai goes into a sort of "VF Works" series (similar in concept to the VF100's series) where they start releasing "DX" scaled non-VF-1's.....they have already started that with the YF-19 and upcoming YF-21, so keeping these releases in their Chogokin line would work too I suppose. I would think either a DX VF-11B or VF-19 Kai would be next in line. However, I wouldn't mind this type of series to be done using their "HMR" scale.

The VE-1 and VT-1 are the only significant hold-outs from the "old school" 1/55 releases that still command the "Iron Price".... Yes, high-end collectibles will most always sell for less on Mandarake due to the shop taking away the "competative pricing" aspect of an open market auction where several parties are involved in determining the final price vs. Mandarake and their individual seller per "controlled" transaction. Basically, Mandarake "sets" the buy-back price, which must be significantly lower than market price in order for them to turn a profit in the transaction........think of it in terms of how a pawn shop makes money. This "controlled" transaction usually leads to a lower Mandarake selling price, which I would think is purposeful so Mandarake can also retain their reputation of "fair" pricing for their consumers.

I think Mokman has done this digitally, but I wanted to try it using physical transfers of the separate douga onto tranparent sheets and then assembling them atop each other....not much of an urgent need to do it, but just an excercise on wether it can be done or not

These were released in 1997. Not sure if they can be considered "old school" releases. However, I suppose you can stretch the "old school" cred if you consider they are based off of "old school" ARII kits.

Macross Stationery, Pencil Cases....and Beyond!!!
jvmacross replied to jvmacross's topic in Collectors
Not that I know of. But then again, I can only speak of Macross pencil case offerings. I have not seen anything released recently. Come to think of it, I really haven't seen too much in terms of Macross stationery items in general. -
