I read that the wait times are actually 15 or less for almost everything....so long as you manage to get in and get out without catching Covid19...you can probably do the whole park in a day or two The only ride seeing high wait times (which honestly at 45 minutes is half the usual 90 minutes wait times) is Splash Mountain due to it being "re-imagineered"...

WDW will probably shutdown again within a month or less....unless ordered to stay open If you are OK with the risks there probably will never be a better time to visit WDW than during a pandemic!

Actually, just realized Amazon.jp is irrelevant to collectors in the US terms of Macross books at the moment....seems they have decided to stop allowing sales to the US...been doing that since before Covid19...so meh...already ordered from HLJ

I wonder if this was supposed to be the next WF release until Covid happened....either way I can't see that many being produced. CalWings said they should be ready to ship by the end of the month.....hope no jackass tries to narc them out! LOL

Did Bandai ever reissue IMAI's 1/72 variable Hikaru 1J kit?
jvmacross replied to Anasazi37's topic in Model kits
Hobby Japan Vintage Vol.4 https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10708711 https://www.hlj.com/hobby-japan-vintage-vol-4-hbj62287 Sounds like a good book for anyone into vintage Macross and specifically the old Macross kits from Imai/Arii -

And another Macross book that cannot be ordered via Amazon.jp......but Hobby Search and HLJ have it....sounds interesting... https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10708711 https://www.hlj.com/hobby-japan-vintage-vol-4-hbj62287

Shouldn't be that bad for one book

I had to PO the VF-1S Roy Focker Special MasterFiles book from HLJ due to Amazon doing a sudden 360 on allowing overseas Macross book sales. Pretty sure this book will be made available via HLJ.

I am hoping this is more like an update to the old Shoji Kawamori Macross Design Works..... ....a massive update 20 years in the making!....the nice thing about the Macross Design Works book was the inclusion of several pages worth of color concept illustrations for various VFs...the Macross Variable Fighter Designers Note only contains lineart....what the recent exhibit companion books have shown us is that Kawamori has plenty of material we have not seen before...600+ pages should be enough to give us a look at some stuff we have not seen before...or at minimum not compiled into one convenient book... The only question now is what will get into our hands first.....the Kawamori or Mikimoto book?

Just pretend it is the latest release from Arcadia...the 1/48 VF-1S V2 with an MSRP of 40,000 JPY, then click that "add to cart" button!
-
yep....Amazon.jp has done that with the last 2 Macross books...too bad, that's about 100 bucks they are not getting from me because it will be going to other retailers...
-
I would hope it is an update to the last Kawamori Macross "design" book.... ...which covered 1982-2001 (SDFM TV - M3).... I think the difference is that it will contain more than just B/W lineart like the similarly titled Macross Variable Fighter Designers Note.... The Shoji Kawamori Macross Design Works book has lineart and color illustrations of many of the conceptual designs for each of his VF's...in addition, there is now 20 some years of these type of illustrations to catch up on that have not been collected in one book since its release. There have been some images published in recent books like the companion books for several of his exhibits, but one new all-encompassing book collecting them all since 1982 to the present will be amazing. This and the upcoming Mikimoto Macross Character Design book will be must-haves for any Macross Book Collector.....hopefully the Kawamori book won't be constantly delayed like the Mikimoto book has been.....we might get simultaneous releases! Sadly, Amazon.jp has once again decided not to make this book available for overseas shipping so I will need to order somewhere else.

Wonder how much an Arcadia 1/48 VF-1S would cost these days if they actually did a 2.0? Guessing at least what secondary prices are for Bandai DX's....possibly more....
