I totally support artistic freedom and re-interpretations of given designs. I just noticed that something about the new nose put me off; I thought it was the length, but it was the shape that was just different from my mental image of the Alpha.

The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn
electric indigo replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, I'm willing to grant the makers a lot of artistic freedom concerning the plot and with adding some action scenes, but it is exactly the bazooka that crosses the border for me. What's next? Boobies?- 39 replies

It's been a long time, but I don't remember Captain Haddock firing a bazooka in the comics back then.- 39 replies

The Best Science Fiction Series

I used to think that "Lost" was the greatest thing on TV until they ruined everything with the last season. Any "Fringe" lovers here? -
New new nose is tons better than the earlier version, but I took a look at the lineart and I think it should taper more at the base:

Black Spinner down! This could be the perfect starting point for a long-needed Cyberpunk revival. And Nolan or Snyder need to take over the "Neuromancer" production.

No, that's the Kotobukiya injection plastic kit. The Toy Boys will have to wait for the Riobot stuff.

One year and one Wonderfest later, Alter showed some unpainted prototypes of the Mave and the Flip Knight this time. Whatever that means.

Phantastic work on a phantastic model. Good job with the refreshing paint scheme, too, it really brings the plane to life. Personally, I could live without the Minmay decal, but I know the opportunity was just too tempting. Did you make the stand yourself?

What's the point of applying digital camo to RL military hardware anyway? It looks cool, but it must be a pain to mask a tank or fighter, and I wonder which theory justifies that effort. I guess it makes sense on uniforms, where you can just print the pattern.

...especially if they'd extrapolate the God's world from the Giger designs we see in the original Alien. "Paradise" would be a nightmare, but truly not from this world. Btw Giger did a piece that illustrated how the Aliens were part of a religious cult of the Space Jockey's race. IMO that made more sense than O'Bannon's idea of a coincidental infection. -
Any other "Thing" fans out there?

I found the stuff that looked like an exploded cow from the first movie far scarier. Where is Giger when you need him?
