  1. I really don't remember seeing them ever come off on the show or in dyrl....
  2. yes, the robotech music was horrible and out of tune, but "we will win" was a good moment. And in my opinion, it was pivotal that a new, more appropriate song was used. Much like in DYRL
  3. I started it because I was excited about waiting for my first V2. I love macross, but I don't have a lot of money and have a hard time justifying the cost of these things. I might buy ONE valk a year so it was an event for me to order something from japan. It was kind of like a thread for kids who are excited about going to bed on christmas eve knowing that they will wake up to greatness. And I hope a community like this never forgets how exciting that is. Too bad the damn shoulders are cracked and I've never seen it in robot form.
  4. to add to a thread I haven't read (what's the point), There are only THREE things where I think the robotech "remix" of the macross saga surpassed the original - the voice dub. I really like the voice acting. It's not just nostalgia. They really nailed those characters. FAR more depth than english cartoon series of the day. -Roy. I can't stand his 2-dimensional american hot shot in the SDFM. It was the japanese writing the character of an american soldier. It was practically racist. But in robotech, you could really see the "sempai" relationship he had with rick - The fact that they wrote a new song for the "rain of death" attack on earth. Other than that, it's rubbish.
  5. I know that there are several threads. But I'm saying that there should be a sticky. because it's pretty much an FAQ. And it definitely affects all of us.
  6. There REALLY should be a sticky about this. Listing which models have the problems. As well as photos of what to look out for, and how to fix them, if you want to take the challange.
  7. vf-1s right outta the box. The arms haven't fallen off because I haven't tried to transform it yet. But each shoulder has a crack on the pin. When I tried to move them, the crack got bigger) Since it's my only v2 )for a long time to come) I don't wanna risk moving them too much.
  8. yes....I pray this will begin a trend!!!!!!!!!!!1
  9. BBTS has preorders for the new viper mk 2 model kits!!!!\\ http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product...amp;mode=retail 1/32 scale. I'm not sure how big that will be.........
  10. Just ordered the toynami regult from BBTS. I also ordered the galactica viper mk 2 model preorder as well!!!!
  11. thanks, this issue really should be stickied with the "macross toy releases" thread so noobs like me don't get stung.
  12. version 2 1/60's vf-os vf-1s roy vf-1s hikaru (dyrl) vf-1a hikaru (dyrl) vf-1a max (dyrl) vf-1a kakizaki (dyrl) vf-1j hikaru ami i missing any? If we want to stay clear of the potential problem, we should stay clear of these, right? Or has it been corrected for later or super part editions?
  13. y'all got to admit, fibre-optic lighting would make that $2000 a LOT easier to swallow
  14. to continue the broken record. After spending a lot of money on a PERFECT TRANSFORMATION TOY, I would like to be able to transform my vf-1s at least ONCE. (yes, I got a broken shoulder edition) I don't have a lot of money. My budget is ONE valk per year.
  15. between this and the new bandai vf1 hi-metal, I'm getting pretty exited....
  16. 1/48 vf1a CF 1/60 vf1s broken shoulder special
  17. Thanks a lot. When push comes to shove, i really like things sitting in fighter mode anyway. And the bandai 1/60 vf25s toys are all pretty high priced for what you get (imho) I will totally check out a 1/72!
  18. cool. I really dig the vf-25 but there isn't yet a toy that I think is worth the cash. I'll have to check one out!!!!!
  19. So I have always thought about the macross toys and never considered the models. Mostly because I hated putting models together when I was a kid. Too much glue and sloppiness to deal with. But at the same time, I just display the yamato valks. I transform them occasionally, but just to put back on the mantle. are modern valk models able to transform ( a parts former is fine as long as they're solid)? Do they require glue? Do any come prepainted? Should I abandon the toys for more line-art accurate models? Is there an FAQ on this anywhere?
  20. "free trade" only goes so far. But at least you guys were able to build a prison system for her in las vegas.
  21. Not to make this political, but "Canada" hasn't apologized for anything. The fact is, the crappy bands that get imported are the ones that the states seems to want. We've had some fantastic music. But you guys only seems to like Celine dion, Nickelback and Bryan adams.
  22. this is a good thread.
  23. I'm not sure if it's the vf-1j (version 1) that I accidentally bought or the vf-1s that I have never transformed because of a broken shoulder
  24. it looks like these are 13cm whereas the non-transformable ones are 12cm
