  1. It would also be nice to clear up the relationship between Minmay and her cousin....
  2. yes...BUT plan it out from the beginning. Write every script before production. Also, don't get tooooo dark. It is still and foremost a space opera. And stick to the SDFM story. The added history stuff from dyrl got pretty convoluted. I think 36 episodes is still a pretty good length. Maybe go for hour long eps. SDFM was like the war and peace of animated serials. It should stay that way. You don't want to deviate from the main story so much that all you're doing is filling up episodes (galactica was horrible for that) But mostly, tighten up the plot for those last 6 episodes. I realize that they added them on to the end, but it could have been tightened into a better story.
  3. I am sooo hating this show. The only cool thing about it is the cylon and it's got the mind of a 16 year old bad actress
  4. some perfect games I've loved: Beyong good and evil (gamecube) toejam and earl (genesis) toobin (arcade) eternal darkness (gamecube) ducktales (nes) bubble bobble (C64) lego star wars 2 (gamecube) strider (nes) wonderboy 2 and 3 (sms) zelda:the twilight princess (gamecube) grim fandango (pc) worms armageddon (pc) monkey island (pc) star control 2 (pc broken sword (gba) double dragon (arcade) resident evil 1 (reissue) super mario 3 (yes I saw the wizard in the theatres)
  5. that's what I'm thinking. Have you ever actually tried to transform a yamato 1/60 V1? sheesh. I PRAY they follow yamatos lead and continually strive to make a better valk
  6. I doubt that will ever happen. Wasn't frontier co-produced by Bandai? The most you could hope for is that bandai takes a page from the model created by yamato. The more line-art accurate and sturdy, the better.
  7. well, consider yourself lucky. Your heart drops when you open up a box and see the shoulders about to fall off. It knocks yamato down several rating points for sure.
  8. Well..there's a 1/60 fully decked out ozma at our local store for like $369 or something like that.
  9. Really? That' too bad. The review that was posted the other day made them see pretty sweet. The gerwalk didn't seem so hot, but I've never really thought of that as a great form anyway. The fighter looked awesome.
  10. I think I'm going for a 1/60 toy. They look pretty sweet. Why are they so much more than yamato 1/60? Anyone?
  11. Thanks! (the regular Ozma is also priced at $150 too) So I guess, by getting the superparts, I'm getting $15 off!
  12. I've been trying to read up on these. Is there an earlier version to be watchful for? (I made the BIG mistake of buying a v.1 vf-1 before I knew better) I'd like a simple vf-25f alto. Angloz has the 25f w/ superparts for only $135 but they charge $150 for the valk w/o superparts. Am I missing something here? Are there two versions of the main toy? http://www.angolz.com/home/productDetails....96&catId=32 http://www.angolz.com/home/productDetails....02&catId=32
  13. wow! Not only are those great reviews, but I think you've convinced me to get into the frontier toys! the vf25 is my second favorite mecha but I was skeptical to get the bandais. Those look wicked!
  14. And of course the destroids.........oh crap.
  15. Of course, this all rests on what scale I'm gonna stick with. Personally, all I'm interested in is a collection of the big 4 from the tv show. 1j hikaru 1s roy 1a kakizaki 1a max And I don't even like to think about my V.1 toy.....
  16. I'm really torn about this. I'm ready to buy another valk but not sure which to get. I currently only have: V1 vf-1j hikaru V2 vf-is roy (broken shoulder) 1/48 vf-1a cannon fodder I LOVE the size of the 1/48 but HATE the broken shoulder thing of the 1/60 (and I bought the V1 hikaru by mistake) So right now, I'm torn between a 1/48 vf1j hikaru or a 1/60 vf1a tv max.
  17. just noticed the flaking canopy film on my vf-1s roy yesterday
  18. ....but there really needs to be a sticky or FAQ about it. I think that's why it is continually mentioned. I know that many of us have extensive collections, but many do not. And we want the noobs to have a great experience getting into this hobby. Many of us are kids at heart and there is nothing worse than a kid breaking his christmas present as soon as he unwraps it. I realize that Yamato designed a FANTASTIC product. Almost 30 years in the making. They should be congratulated. As do the people who work with them and keep up this website. But the price of them is far more than that of a mere toy for children. It's a level of quality that is expected from adults who have somewhat of a disposable income. This should be a community for sharing info about our beloved franchise. It should be a place where noobs can look to make the right decisions (just last year I accidentally bought a V1 off of ebay.I didn't even KNOW they existed. I already had a 1/48 and I kept hearing that the 1/60's were better) So even though we want have a great relationship with yamato (because they do an AMAZING job of bringing our childhood to life) we need to make sure that the proper information for a buyer is available. So I (and I don't think I'm alone) ask the mods to compile the information about quality control into a sticky thread. (what models have the bad pins? There seems to be fluctuating debate) Even though we are used to spending this much on fantastic toys doesn't make it any easier when they arrive broken. EDIT---locking threads about it are just gonna lead to more threads about it.
  19. BTW, I have a hard time believing that yamato hasn't known too much about this. Considering how much the "broken shoulder" models have been discounted by the sales companies, it MUST have gotten back to them.
  20. I think the reason that this is getting old fast is that for Noobs like me (who don't have the easiest time justifying the price tag) WANT the roy 1s and the hikaru 1j to be THE centerpiece to their collections. I was so excited getting a roy 1s. But after about $145 total, I can't transform it because the arms are hanging on by a thread. Honestly? As beautiful as the V2 is, I'm thinking of 1/48's. Other than the lack of tampo, my huge vf-1a CF never let me down.
  21. If you don't have this 1/48 yet, this is a great price! http://www.angolz.com/home/productDetails....76&catId=32 They also have the max and miria vf-1j w/ superparts for $104 US!!! I might break my 1 valk per year rule.....
  22. Thank you so much! I've been so bummed about the shoulder crack I was gonna go back to the 1/48!
  23. is it possible to just BUY the part from yamato??? I submitted a request months ago and haven't even got a reply that they got it.
  24. I have a vf-1a CF in 1/48 scale and I think the things fits together wonderfully. I've transformed it countless times and have yet to have any bits fall off. I also LOVE the size. At the same time, I'm afraid to transform my 1/60 because of the cracked shoulder (but it looks AMAZING in jet form) If I were to get another valk right now, it would probably be a 1/48 VF-1J...
