I dunno but if I had to get the unassembled version, I'd spend the extra cash and get the big honkin 1/2000 scale one from awhile back. If I'm gonna spend the time to build one, I'm gonna go all out and get the fu*ck-all ultimate one. (point is moot since it's discontinued and $2000+) I'm no help at all but just sayin...

None at all in the Flashback animation. There's some line art around though...in this very thread, I believe.

Macross 7 Bluray Boxset Details Announced
xrentonx replied to SCOOPUDA!'s topic in Movies and TV Series
Gotta admit I'm a bit relieved. No limited edition means I can hold off on this one for a good long while until I have extra cash lying around. 7 is my least favorite anyway. -
That's pretty much my only complaint. Wonder why they couldn't figure out a way to have the hands fully integrated into the transformation...

Now that I've had the Durandal for about a month I'm gonna say I prefer it in fighter mode for sure. I had one hell of a time transforming the thing though. It took me 15 minutes trying to get the head back into the body so that it is flush in fighter mode. I like it and all but this one stays in fighter mode for good unless I'm feeling saucy and want to go through the transformation again.

To be fair, it's like 2 or 3 people staying up. The rest of us get our sleep with our laptops next to us with an alarm that detects any changes on a specific page.

...something about light blue stripes, I guess? I don't care. This thing looks gorgeous!

The old formats do have their charm and I'd hang on to that LD if I owned it. However, it doesn't stop me from enjoying the new formats in the slightest. The fact of the matter is that there will always be newer formats to come and it is up to all of us to determine exactly where our individual stopping point is. I won't call it progress exactly (even though I believe that there is progress for sure) but time moves on.

Will there ever be another printing of this? In all my years of Macross fandom I've never owned one.

Aw, I thought I was being pretty chill too I still don't see what's lame about someone deciding not to buy from a place because they think that a certain store can't fulfill a preorder. All you have to do is look at stores like hlj and amiami, look at the situation with Bandai, and you can make a pretty good educated guess at it. I'm gonna hedge my bets that a store that has a preorder window open for several days or weeks is going to have a lot of problems fulfilling orders. Am I absolutely certain? Of course not. There's always a chance that they might fulfill every single one of their orders...but that chance isn't very high (again, look at the situation for all the renewal VF-25s and the Durandal). Furthermore, I wouldn't want to go through the hassle of cancelling the order if I'm able to get the preorder with my preferred dealer (many reasons for this, especially if you have to pay up front). The only place that anyone has really talked shi*t about so far is ishoptogo. There's a whole thread about it and I think the shi*t talking was valid in that case. I don't recall anyone shooting down Nippon Yasan (don't feel like going through whole thread right now)...just expressing doubt that they can keep that preorder window open for so long.

What's lame about it? I happen to like HLJ and I've never had any problems with them so I throw them my business whenever I can. What's it to you that I don't want to shop at some other place? Those other guys may be really nice and dandy chaps but I haven't been shopping with them for the past 10 or so years. For me it's not a big deal that I have to wait a little before they open preorders. My search has been pretty casual so far and I haven't lost any more sleep than I usually get. If I don't get one, I don't get one. I already have the one I wanted most (Ozma). The blue one is just icing on the cake. I already have a preorder for two 171s from HLJ so if I have to, I'll consider an even trade with someone who has an extra G instead of customizing that second 171 into a different scheme.

That's the one. Yep. I was *this* close to getting the orange one too but that fell through.

Count me as another guy who loves his current YF-19s. I have the standard one and the double nuts. This is not to say that I wouldn't buy the hell out of a revised YF-19

Medicom/Hot Toys and all 1/6 scale figures
xrentonx replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Man, those 3A figures are awesome. I had to pick up Rothchild on the secondary market so I'm still waiting on mine. -
Already doin; all casual-like

It's really not that bad with the update scanner. It allows me to casually check while I do other stuff on the net. I think we're pretty safe until Sunday though. Anyhow I have an ace up my sleeve.

Yoko Kanno is the crowning jewel on a lot of stuff
-
Hell yeah I would buy one! Don't listen to the naysayers, Yamato! They smell and their mothers dress them funny. Listen to me instead!
-
This too. I ain't about to f*uck around with the likes of ishoptogo.
-
They might. Sure. But I've been with hlj since forever and they've become my "go to guys".
-
I got my Durandal a week ago and I still prefer the VF-25S. Durandal ain't bad though and I accept its place in Macross lore. I'd prefer the Ozma version from the game by a long shot though.
-
For me it's not about a few bucks but the fact that I'm doing business with a reputable store that will almost guarantee that I get one.

Looks like it's another round of camping hlj tonight, boys. ...screw you, Bandai.
