  1. I adore Absolute Watchmen. I agree that any Watchmen fan should pick up this edition. They owe it to themselves to see this classic comic book in a great, large page format with brand new colors reworked under direction by the original artist. I also like the comment section by Moore and Gibbons and the making-of section at the back, something that was only included in the rare Graffiti edition.
  2. Not bad. The credit sequence was a good laugh.

    Macross Revoltech

Love the sculpts. They are so Kawamori. Thanks for the improved picture.
  4. Wow DT, didn't know you were such a big fan of the VF-25. It's great to see more love for it; I think the VF-25 is a fantastic design, especially the Battroid mode and the transformable armor.
  5. You could call the original remark what it is: utter bs. And you'd be correct. As for Watchmen, I remain extremely skeptical and this casting evolution has only made me more jaded. I like Zack Snyder, but he's yet to prove himself with a film of substance. The casting so far is hit and miss in my opinion. A few of the roles reek of "lowest common denominator" decision making and are cast way too young. Patrick Wilson is just wrong for the role of Nite Owl II, especially for Dreiberg who even in his prime as a costumed adventurer was far more subtle a combatant than overtly athletic. Crudup wouldn't exactly be my first choice of Osterman, but he does have the acting chops to pull it off. Overall, mixed feelings and I was hoping for better. Greengrass was definitely on the right track for his aborted attempt.
  6. I endorse this analysis
  7. I can get my Patlabor into all the poses shown on the box and many more. You've got to put some effort into it; I recommend just spending some time understanding the Revoltech before doing really complex poses. There actually is a bit of a learning curve, so take the time and you'll be well rewarded. I've had mine for months and I'm still coming up with poses. Revoltechs are the best creative toy since lego
  8. Wow, the VF-25 is much smaller than I had thought, but that's not a bad thing. It's easier to collect smaller figures.
  9. Good to hear. It seems legitimate. I really hope to see some pictures. The Xenomorphs are made for Revoltech. There are some many classic "alien" pose that could be done with a proper revoltech xenomorph. Can't wait!
  10. I endorse this response
  11. Found this during a google search...
  12. It's a dead page.
  13. Uh, what was that? Is this just some rumor or are Alien and Predator revoltechs really in the works? Where did this info come from?
  14. Thank you so much cyde01. I'm going to save this information for a Macross 25 profile. Am I the only one who does that? I'm honored. Gotta get a copyright on that somehow
  15. Sorata You're welcome and thank you for all your help with the Game&Advanced Section. It wouldn't have been possible without your input. Yes, the green appears to be a one off shot and I'm not really that concerned about it. The stripe is the big issue. At keeps appearing and disappearing. I don't know what to do. I might have to ultimately make a judgment call myself, like I did with the SDF-1 (blue feet or white feet; hell, just go blue, hehehe). I didn't notice the kite colored over on the Red unit. I'll have to make note of that for the fighter mode. I've seen Cheng's model before. It's very good. TheLoneWolf No, I think we're okay with the acrobatic team. They unquestionably exist because they are part of the script and mentioned by name. Also, the Valkyrie fighters are shown consistently as one red and three orange fighters in multiple shots throughout the air show sequence. Mark Nguyen Well, we can include that variant but it seems questionable from my point of view. Regardles, I'm much more concerned about the main hull colors than anything else. The stripe seems to be the only issue. Sometimes it appears in the animation, sometimes it doesn't. As I've said to Sorata, I might just have to judge one way or the other, or include a striped/non-striped variant just to show both. At any rate, your input is very much appreciated. I've watched the first 3 episodes twice on Veoh, so I'm much better versed than I was, but I'm going to still need help with stats if they exist. What I'll likely do is post a preliminary profile and let you guys picks it over here in this thread. That's probably the easiest and most efficient way to build it properly. Zinjthulhu Which part? You were incorrect about the Acrobatic team, but I believe you're right about the grey/blue hull color in lighting conditions. We'll assume you meant the latter
  16. I've gone over the show for episode three and the fighters really only ever appear truly green for a single shot. The other times they are shown during the moon festival show, they appear bluish, as does everything during that segment in fact. Plus in the battle immediately following, Nexx's Valkyrie grey/blue and I'm not getting the impression he switched Valkyries. I'm thinking in this case, we're not looking at a special paint job. ANyway, moving onward, I can see you're correct about the Acrobatic team. It's only red and orange. As for the stripe, I'm lost on that one. Sometimes it appears, sometimes it doesn't. Also, on the few colored pictures I've found on the internet, the leg stripes appear colored (see below). Anyway, here's a new picture which I hope is more accurate *crosses fingers*
  17. Based on my review of the video link, here's the new set:
  18. I think I might be forced to rent it. So confusing...
  19. I have no idea what that means, but I'm going to assume that the Red colored VF-2SS with white stripes (along with the blue, green and yellow colored Valkyires with white stripes) are the acrobatic team. As for the other colors, I'm going to stick to the greey/blue hulls and colored stripes. Based on the video link, I don't think the SAP VF-2SS fighter were meant to be a different color. It's probably just the lighting environment.
  20. Okay people, you are confusing the hell out of the Macross II newb here Who are these VF-2SS Valkyries with the solid colored hulls (like Sylvie's red with white stripes fighter)? Are these the "acrobatic team" that Zinjo was talking about? If that's the case, I obviously misunderstood the description and got the second batch of colors wrong.
  21. Mark Nguyen Any official information would be a big help. Please share whatever you find. Thanks. TheLoneWolf Good point. I want to avoid all RPG and Palladium stuff. I want just official fiction taken from the Japanese Macross art books and anime events only. Zinjim and VF5SS Okay, I'll officially declare the Metal Siren crazy I'm not sure how to write about that lance and it's Pin-Point/Omni-Directional Barrier equipped uber-lance. I guess we'll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it. As for the Auto-Attack Bits, I'll stick with that designation until notified further. For now, here's the latest colors for the VF-2SS set. EDIT: See below Are these basically canon and correct as described? Let me know. I'd like to get all the canon color variants down so I can do them all in one big sweep. I don't want to have to come back to the VF-2SS once I've completed it, so speak now (or type as it were)

    Macross Revoltech

Now there's a mecha that was made for display on a desktop! "There Will Be Monsters"? Hehehe
  23. Well, it's nice to finally see a rear view of the VF-25 Battroid. I was wondering for the longest time what the speicific details were. I like it!
  24. So how much do we know here? Some facts are coming out that deals with some of my concerns. That's good, but what about the rest? Sculpt is a matter of personal preference for me and that can't be helped, but what about other factors that affect the product performance/value? 1) So the seams are apparently tight on the production versions? Okay, that's good. 2) What is the articulation of the GN-U line like? It doesn't necessarily have to be a Revoltech, but what can we expect? The pictures make the articulation appear lousy. Is this the case or is articulation actually quite good? 3) Will the GN-U line come with FAST Packs or will they be sold seperate? At all? 4) How is the viability of the joints? Will they stand up well to repeated use? 5) Feel free to offer anything else that we don't know yet. More information please. There must be milkshakes!
  25. Kurisama Well, I'll take that to mean Version 4.0 is a resounding win I'm not a big fan of the Macross II mecha. The Valkyries in particular are far too over-designed. The VF-2SS Battroid mode looks pretty good, but the Fighter and GERWALK modes are awful, IMO. Zinjogger These pictures have some good information. It's not much to work with, but it should be enough to build from. Thanks for posting. Yes, I had planned on keeping the date of the production (1992) well in mind when building the profiles, as well as Macross II's status as a parallel world. So The VF-2SS will be basically more advanced then the VF-4. Since there are no weight, power plant or thrust statistics, I'll have to use vague descriptions based on simplistic assumptions about Valkyrie advancement in the 80 years between SWI and Macross II. We can assume it's faster and has more powerful engines, but since we don't even know the weight, we can't say anything about that. So are the gun pods beam weapons or rail guns? Your pictures call the various types of Valkyire gun pods rail guns, but the MAHQ statistics list "beam guns". So which one is it? Or is it both? What is the PBB offensive weapon?
