  1. Thank you. I'm glad you like my Macross Mecha Manual website. It's been a lot of fun putting it together. Your size comparison chart for the Robotech mecha is pretty good. I've seen parts of it before. I can't comment on the non-Macross mecha, but regarding the Macross mecha, it appears the Queadluun-Rau is too small. The Glaug is 16.55 meters tall while the Queadluun-Rau is 16.75 meters (18.8 meters with the antennae). So the Q-Rau should be taller than the Glaug, unless heights of the mecha were changed in Robotech, which I wouldn't know. Also, there is a more accurate front view schematic of the Glaug, that you can see on my website by selecting this link. Keep watching for future updates to my website. I'm sure you'll enjoy them.
  2. Perhaps Taksraven saw this picture and got all excited?
  3. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Makes one appreciate just how silly the "naked-spirit" theme in anime really is
  4. Hehehe. Well, it was a good idea. But in all honesty, I've been working on a bunch of size comparison charts and this is just one. There's going to be all kinds of similar goodies in the next update
  5. Morpheus Hmm, perhaps. I could just put something like "no government (private company, Strategic Military Services). Otherwise something like Faction might work well as a catch-all category. It would also work to describe the whale poachers in Macross Dynamite 7. I don't have any information or shots of the Vajra Super Queen (is that the name?) as yet, so I haven't added it. And before you ask, the Battle Galaxy scan that went around is too small to use as well, which is why it's not been added. The Frontier section will eventually receive an overhaul, but it's a waiting game now. No statistics or trivia is being released for any of the Macross Frontier mecha, hopefully meaning they will eventually show up in the Macross Chronicle or another book is being published. We just have to hope such a published source of information appears sooner rather than later. Seto Kaiba
  6. The Macross Chronicle binder categorizes the Macross franchise in seven parts, with Flashback 2012 excluded and Macross II as number three. The first issue of the Macross Chronicle includes them all. 1) The Super Dimension Fortress Macross 2) The Super Dimension Fortress Macross The Movie: Do You Remember Love? 3) The Super Dimension Fortress Macross Macross II: Lovers Again 4) Macross Plus 5) Macross 7 6) Macross Zero 7) Macross Frontier
  7. I know you got it from my website. It's couldn't have come from anywhere else since 99% of all Macross line art on the net is really small and low resolution and those that are larger are not colored. I was just making sure proper credit went to Kawamori, because it is his art, all I did was color/shade it and edit in a different head If you want some blanks, I can provide you with a few. Here is a VF-1A Battroid. I don't want to go through everything posting hundreds of blanks, but if you want a couple more, let me know and I'll post 'em.
  8. I always thought Ranka's "hair" being prehensile was a very "bad" idea.
  9. Hehehe, aw, you're no fun Not sure when the update is coming. I'm hoping in a few weeks.
  10. I figured that was the case, but it can be hard to tell sometimes. Several artists were working on the various Macross projects, so some details may have been done by others. Junya Ishigaki is even credited for some work miscellaneous work on Macross Zero, such as the VF-0 Phoenix cockpit.
  11. I'm going to hit you. Really hard. Repeatedly. And I'm going to enjoy it. Mentally. Physically. Sexually! The major goodies added to the Game & Advanced Valkyrie section will be the VF-4G Lightning III in Max and Milia colors. The VF-4 specifically is going to enjoy a lot of attention site wide in the next update, including revised artwork in the Flashback 2012 section, revised index button, added line art with transformation scans and I'm including colored schematics of the VF-4 fighter. Also in the G&A section, I'm adding the player two colors for the VB-6 Konig Monster. It's going to look so purty

    VF-1A 3D WIP

If you're looking for good reference to build 3D models of the Macross valkyries, my website has some of the best scans on the net. I have a nice scan of the VF-1 missiles found in the VF-1A Valkyrie Profile on the Macross Mecha Manual. I've attached that specific picture to this post as an example. If you need any help or are looking for more drawings, I will certainly try to help.
  13. Kawamori does all the valkyrie mecha art and some other miscellaneous mecha such as Regulds, Glaugs and Zentradi fighter pods. This includes the concept sketches, all finalized artwork, transformation drawings, and all the miscellaneous details like close ups of gun pods, hands, feet, cockpits and everything else. The book Shoji Kawamori Macross Design Works is a collection of Kawamori's line art for Macross and it includes all the valkyries he's created (Macross II is not included, since it was not a Studio Nue production). Drawings like UN Spacy ships, Zentradi/Meltrandi ships and enemy mecha were largely created by Miyatake Kazutaka. Miyatake designed the Zentradi aesthetic and built the now famous Queadluun-Rau. He also created all the drawings for the UN SPacy ships, including the iconic SDF-1 Macross and created artwork for all the Macross 7 ships such as the Battle 7, Macross 7, Uraga, Guantanamo, and Stealth Frigates. Promotional artwork and posters, like many of the full pages and two-page spreads published in magazines, are done by any number of artists. Some could be Kawamori or Miyatake, many others are not.
  14. Max vs. Milia (DYRL) and Isamu vs. Guld still remain my top two and it's always a challenge to pick a favorite. I picked the Macross Plus fight this time. Next up comes anything with Roy in it. It's not so much what happens, but the way Roy makes it happen. Even in the episode of SDF Macross where he perishes, ealier in the episode he dispatches a Q-Rau and nonchalantly gazes at it's burning hulk going down in smoke as he flies by. I always loved Roy's style when it came to combat. I also really like the first major encounter between Alto vs. Brera with Klan and Mikhail in the mix. That was great fun. Lots of moves and counter moves, hits and damage, near misses and in-your-face smackdowns. It had it all in the proper proportions. Not long or drawn out, not unrealistically complex and boring, just plenty of down and dirty mecha mayhem in lovely CGI with fine scene composition and that unique Japanese style. Awesome stuff.
  15. It's actually a composite. The line art is all Kawamori, but the head unit was taken from another Kawamori drawing and I performed the clean up on the drawing to make the finished art as seamless as possible. I think it worked out well, much better than my first attempt. The need to do the composite was largely due to the lack of a usable large sized Battroid drawing for the VF-1A. With only a few exceptions, the line art on the M3 is all unmodified originals drawn by Kawamori and Miyatake. But in some cases, like the TV Queadluun-Rau, I lacked any books that had unblemished original art work, so I had to build one. In the case of the Q-Rau TV version, the art was across two pages in the Macross Perfect Memory book. I scanned both pages and painstakingly rebuilt the line art in photoshop. In the next update to the M3, I've finalized Kawamori's VF-4 Battroid, doing extensive clean up and "inking" of his work to create a sharp and clean version of the line art (fans can catch a preview of that VF-4 Battroid in the color coded transformation thread).
  16. Disappointing news, but not at all unexpected. I figured it would be largely reusing material with some new stuff thrown in. What is the typical percentage these days? 25%? Still, the series was good, so it's likely the movie will appeal to me as well. Who knows, maybe the movie might even be better simply from a narrative point of view. Just have to watch and see.
  17. Well, it is easier to find enjoyment in the mecha than the show itself But seriously, small additions like the AABs are very easy to complete. Coloring takes about 5 minutes, add a line of text to the VF-2ss webpage and then upload. Done. It's the more involved material that takes a while, like the color coded transformation guides. Spent most of the week doing those. I've got the following 14 completed: VF-1J Valkyrie SV-51 VF-4 Lightning III VF-3000 Crusader VF-9 Cutlass VF-5000B Star Mirage VF-14 Vampire VF-11B Thunderbolt Az-130A Panerzorene FBz-99G Saubergeran Fz-109A Elgerzorene Fz-109F Elgerzorene VB-6 Konig Monster VF-2SS Valkyrie II The transformation guides still left to do are: VF-0A Phoenix Neo-Glaug/Variable Glaug VA-3 Invader VF-17D Nightmare YF-19 VF-19F Excalibur YF-21 VF-22 Sturmvogel II

    VF Girls

*chortle* That's not bad. I like the artwork.
  19. Those and the technology sheets sound like good pages on which to focus
  20. That's alright. I'll take what I can get. But you know me, I'm always on the look out for high resolution scans to keep the M3 in top form I've completed coloring the AAB/Squires, I've updated the VF-2SS Valkyrie II SAP web page and uploaded them all. Make sure to hite REFRESH when you visit: http://www.new-un-spacy.com/macross2/vf-2ss-sap.htm Turned out not too shabby
  21. Thanks TheLoneWolf. The scan is a little small, but I'll take it. I seem to recall they are the same color as the SAP system. I'll clean it up, color it and post it. Thanks again.
  22. SchizophrenicMC That sucks. Well, if you ever happen upon it, let me know and I can send you some of my PSD files of colored mecha. I noticed you like to make customs and they are really easy to modify in the layered format of a PSD file for Photoshop. Btw, what Ironside said
  23. I'll see what I can do, but no promises.
  24. Fantastic! I like it
  25. I didn't mean to appear ungrateful SchizophrenicMC, I was only asking for a blank schematic to color the F-14 in the Macross Zero colors. Otherwise fans might ask where the oddly colored F-14 was supposed to be from. But don't worry, Talos was able to get me a blank schematic. Thanks for trying and you're help is appreciated. BTW, do you have Photoshop?
